GTFO Escape Rooms Rochester

So we went here while we were downtown after dinner. We did the 90s theme room. It was very tough we did not complete the challenge. The staff were very friendly, not the easiest place to find so pay attention to the address on the front of the building.

Part of a small group that has done a dozen or more escape rooms, including an 80s themed room in Virginia that inspired us to try this room. We were ultimately left disappointed. We arrived 10 minutes early, but waited nearly 25 minutes to start our room. Once we were able to begin, we managed to blow through the first 20 minutes or so before hitting a wall. Read full review just had to guess what the creator was thinking when they made it, and we required a clue to even begin to move in the correct direction. We got to the end and opened up the last locked box with 5 minutes to go, and we were presented with a 14(!) page booklet and a blacklight... that didnt work. Someone came in and got the light but we didnt get it back. The timer ran out and we were told that we were done. Then they realized they had started us late and said theyd bring the light back and we could finish, but the thought of going through 14 pages of instructions and being already 10 minutes over was too much and we called it. I dont mind hard rooms if they are both fair and well done. We all felt that this room was unfortunately neither. I cant recommend this room, and we have had more fun at other local rooms.

We had such a great time! Perfect for date night and even better with a group. The staff was very attentive to us and encouraged us to find a way to break out of prison. Dope experience. We had a great time

We had a great time at GTFO! The 90s room was one of our favorite escape rooms weve ever done, even if focusing through all the nostalgia felt like playing on hard mode! The staff gave perfect hints - just enough to get us going, not too much info. Wed definitely love to come back some time!

This is one of the better escape rooms in Rochester. It was fun, kept us on our toes. It was also difficult, and we needed clues, but we didnt give up. We did the Prison Break escape room and I wont spoil it, but its one I recommend trying. Now Im interested in trying the other room with the 90s theme.

The prison break room was a lot of fun, we all had a great time! The girl who ran it was really sweet and helpful. I loved how we were split into different cells & had to communicate to help each other get out. Would definitely go here again!

The room we went to (the prison break) was actually very well done- the problem was with lack of preparation from the staff. Things we needed to solve the puzzles were left out of the room or had dead batteries. Also the time clock in the room didn t work so we had no idea of how much time was passing. What I did love was how much communication and working together was required. We would go back for the other room and hope that experience goes a little more smoothly!

I booked my sons 13th birthday at GTFO. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. Everyone had a great time in the escape room and the party space was perfect! I Highly recommend this place!

Stumbled upon GTFO for a fun date night and we had a blast ! We did the prison break room and barely escaped. The clues were great and we really had to work as a team to escape! Will def be booking again.

Absolutely Loved It!! Me, my mom and sisters did Escape The 90s for Mothers Day and it was amazing. It was out first time but it wont be our last!!

Had a great time in the Prison Break room. Puzzles were fun and required collaboration, and there were enough for the whole group to feel involved.

We had a great time at GTFO Escape Rooms. They were very friendly (and patient with us lol). We had just enough time to escape, it wasnt too obvious or too confusing. I would definitely go back!

Wow the 90s room was soooo cool! So many cool details that really brought me back to my childhood! And the twist at the end was so unexpected! Very challenging to complete in 60 mins. Wish the clues were given better but overall great time! Will be back to do the jailbreak!

We had an awesome experience at GTFO last night. We did the Prison Break room for a date night and had so much fun. Great puzzles and friendly staff, we can wait to go back for the 90s room!

friendly staff. my daughter and i had fun. But, we were not able to finish the room and were stuck halfway through the game due to one of the props/clue being mixed up. Im sure it was an honest mistake but it prevented us from the full experience. we would love to come back and try the 90s room.

We went for my birthday and did the 90s room and when I say this we the best and most creative escape room I have ever been to I mean it! The people that work there are so sweet and helpful. 10/10 definitely recommend going!!

This was an amazing experience! Our group did the Escape the 90s Room and it was so much fun! A wonderful team builder for any group. The difficulty was appropriate and we made it out with 10 seconds to spare. The staff was kind, accommodating, and funny! Overall a wonderful experience!

My husband and I did our first ever escape room with GTFO and loved it. We chose the 90s Room - it was like walking into my childhood bedroom. The theming was so spot on and the puzzles were fun. I did regularly get distracted by wanting to sing along with the playlist or play with items I remembered from I was a kid, so we did not make it out... but Id highly recommend.

We had a blast escaping the prison break room. The puzzles were very engaging and kept our minds working. Unfortunately on the night we did this escape room the air conditioning wasnt working in that specific room but we were still able to push through and escape with seconds to spare. We definitely plan to come back to do the other room.

90 s kids (and friends) behold, one of the best escape rooms in Rochester. The room was challenging, well-thought out and incredibly fun. Our only critique is that we would have enjoyed being immersed into the story a bit more at the beginning. Staff was incredibly welcoming, supportive, friendly and engaged. They genuinely seemed equally invested in our escape. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be returning. City parking so factor some time for that.

We came here for our company retreat and it was SO MUCH FUN!! It was challenging in the best way and we laughed so much. Zach was so kind (especially after we were running late getting there) and made our experience worth while. Would highly recommend!

We had a corporate event at GTFO and they were amazing!!! They accommodated every request and made the time we spent there great!!

My son did this escape room with 3 friends for his 14th birthday party. This group has done several other rooms in the area and they really enjoyed this one. They loved several of the 90s themed things in the room. Without adult help they were about 10 seconds over the time limit but had a great time. I asked a couple of the kids beforehand if they would rather have a challenge or definitely escape and they said they like a challenge, so we let them do their thing! We had not visited before the day of the party and the staff was excellent at getting back to us, answering questions and even giving us a coupon code since the room was new. Would definitely recommend!

This is my first escape room and I didnt expect to have as much fun as I did. The staff were super cool and helpful, and I had a blast. Im sure I will go again some time.

My family and I had so much fun escaping prison at GTFO. The room was huge compared to others we have done. The riddles and puzzles were great to solve and a lot of fun, also the gentleman helping us with the room was great with how he communicated clues. He never gave anything away with also helping us and keeping us having fun. Overall fantastic experience and we plan on doing the 90s room when its ready!!!

We had a blast at GTFO doing the Prison Escape. We were a group of 8 (age range of 15-56) and this was my first ever Escape Room experience. I had no idea what to expect but I can tell you we had so much fun and so many laughs! My 15-year old woke up this morning saying that EVERYONE loved it. It was challenging, fun, hysterical and required a lot of communication and teamwork. I highly recommend and I cant wait to go back for the Escape the 90s! Fun for the entire family!
