We did the hacker room with 4 people. We were seconds away from succeeding. The lasers were pretty cool. I dont feel like the cohesiveness of the puzzles is that great. Its not very intuitive what puzzle answers go to which locks so definitely use your clues if you are stuck. Some of the puzzles arent too hard, but I wouldnt describe them as clever. It is nice that you can do a lot of them in parallel. 3/5 coolness factor, puzzles 3.5/5, 3.5/5 overall, round up because the attendant was nice and walked us though some things.
We did a work team-building trip here and we all had a blast! A group of 10 of us, IT professionals with desk jobs had a great time. The instruction and staff (Renee) were easy to understand and very helpful. We made it out with 8+ minutes to spare, and we are already planning another visit.
Fun experience with great puzzles. The room was unfortunately a bit too dark even with the theme. Me and the older members of my party had a difficult time seeing because of the light even though we have relatively good vision. Our host was super fun and added a lot of great joy to the experience.
1st time in the Nut House! LOVED it!!!! Riley (I apologize if I am misspelling their name) was awesome! I am definitely looking forward to trying the other rooms and will be requesting Riley!
Weve done escape rooms all over NY, and this was by far one of the best presented. The host was great, the story was great (Mr. Jenkins Basement), and the puzzles were laid out incredibly well! Well certainly be back to try another room!
This place was great the rooms were well planned out the puzzles were unbelievable and genius in their own way and was the perfect escape room experience I recommended to everyone trying it for the first time
I rarely review things but this one was worth it! Did Mr. Jenkins Basement and required all 3 clues to escape definetely a well thought out room. Might be easier with more people but it was a good challenge for 2 and Im a puzzle freak so thats saying something. Absolutely loved it. Very interactive and our host was extremely friendly and would hop on the intercom every once in awhile when we were making it too complicated. Took us 58 minutes of the hour. Awesome experience!
Amazing time! We chose the cabin in the woods for our 1 year wedding anniversary while out here in Rochester celebrating. We were so close to getting out with 1 puzzle left to solve.....the amount of time out into this room blew our minds compared to the rooms weve seen in our area. Hands down a memorable experience and the guy who helped us was very friendly and helpful when we needed clues. Thanks for the night it was awesome!!
First escape room experience and I couldnt be happier with my experience. Professional and fun staff, challenging room (my group of four did Mr. Jenkins Basement), and all in all super fun. My group beat our room, using some helpful clues to guide us when we got stuck, which was really nice for first timers to get the hang of it. Cannot wait to do another room in the future!!
Very good time for a scaredy-cat like me. I appreciated all the helpful hints we could ask for, the reassurance that the doors are unlocked and that nothing would jump out at us, and the staffs willingness to help and explain things!
Honestly, even though we didn t win, this was the most fun I have had at an escape room. We loved the three opening videos that gave guidance and tips, and even what not to do. The intro video was also very cheesy and fun. We were given help when needed, but it was just a fun clever escape room. We will definitely be back. I don t know if I should share his name but the gentleman that helped us was amazing. He was just so happy to be there and engaged with his job that it added so much to an already great experience. I see others shared names, so thank you Riley! We had a great time.
Staff are always very friendly and enthusiastic. Facility is clean and has great theming. Rooms are on the challenging side. Some basic with lock and key and some more tech heavy. Our favorite room was King s Curse. Definitely recommend as one of the if not the best escape room in Rochester, NY.
Cabin in the woods was a great room. Renay at front desk was super nice and made the experience one to remember for a long time. , group had a blast and will be going back again.
We had an amazing time at the Nut House. Age 12 to 65 in our group and everyone was engaged and excited! Our host was the best with her clue giving and guidance when we floundered.
First time visiting an escape room. The staff were friendly and made it an awesome experience. My family had a lot of fun and the time passed quickly. Highly recommend trying it!
I had an amazing time. I was visiting from out of town so my friends and I decided to do an escape room. We did Mr. Jenkins Basement and it was super fun. Shoutout to the employee in charge. First, she was super fun to work with. Second, I had left my purse and she went out of her way to get ahold of me and waited for me to come back. Anyways, if I am back in town again, I definitely want to go back and do other rooms! I am not usually one to post reviews either!
We did the Kings Curse room and enjoyed it. We have done a lot of of rooms elsewhere and found this one to be on the easier side of medium difficulty. We only found one of the clues super challenging. I think it would be an excellent first-time room for a group. It was very well designed and we liked the theme a lot.
We took my 14 year old for her birthday. We did cabin in the woods. It s next level! It was intense and challenging. We have done escape rooms with a bit. It has been the best so far.
This place was a blast! We had so much fun going through all the challenges trying to figure out how to escape. Ive done all the escape rooms in Rochester including a bunch out of state and Nut house was by FAR the best experience. The clues were challenging but not unfairly so you didnt feel cheated and they all had this ah-ha moment that was very satisfying. My good friends and I got to know each other even better after doing this together. I would 1000% recommend this to anyone looking...
for a great time with friends and family, and the prices were very reasonable especially considering the amount of effort and thought put into these rooms! Go with friends you wont forget this experience. Just the laughs you get alone are worth your time and money.
Wow! Cabin in the Woods at the Nut House Escape Room was phenomenal! The realistic look & sounds surrounding the cabin, plus the creativity of the clues makes this escape room top notch. Thanks for hosting my daughters birthday party...theyll be talking about it for days!
Always friendly staff. Fun escape rooms. We go once a year for birthday gifts but going to up our visits to more.
We had a blast! The staff was amazing . This activity is now going to be an annual family tradition for when the grown children come home to visit!
We thought that the staff were kind. We participated in the cabin in the woods escape room. I imagine that others may enjoy this experience however I did not due to the subject matter. It contained very occult themes centered around a horror-genre. Which is not as it was advertised. I feel strongly that the company should provide much more detail about the genre and appropriateness of the rooms, because this was much more of a dark theme than we thought we were paying for.
We loved our experience in the cabin in the woods, however, there is a fake oujia board in the room and it s based on a demon is in the cabin and that was never mentioned in the description
We had a lot of fun in the Hacker WITCH room, HOWEVER it is fiendishly difficult and should be labeled as such- I cant see how ANYone would get out in 1 hour. The 20% escape stat on the website is not accurate our host told us - much lower. This room needs to be properly explained as by far the hardest room to get through, and only for very experienced (and intelligent) peeps. OR allow 2-3 hours for peeps to honestly try to get through that many puzzles. Still a lot of fun though.
Took a large group there and they were so accommodating and easy to work with. I appreciated their quick replies to the questions I had. They were very easy to work with, and our group had a wonderful time!
Really enjoyed this one! The effects and setting were VERY well done and it was tons of fun. The game we picked was cool but quite hard at times (even for our group of 7) so needed to ask for all three clues as it often followed a non-linear approach so you have to figure out which clues went with which locks etc which I liked!
So this Is my second review for this place and it is much better than my first 1 star. I was compensated for the broken room and able to do the other room, Canin in the Woods, for free. It was much nicer, everything worked, and it was very well executed. It had a cool story you could uncover and the puzzles were very innovative and well thought out. I had a great time and I m looking forward to any new rooms they re releasing.
Such a fun and immersive room! This place goes over and above
This was our first time doing an escape room, and we tried their new virtual escape room. During these times of covid, there isnt a lot to do, and we thought that a virtual escape room was a great idea! It was easy to sign up. It was a lot of fun and it challenged us mentally! Also, the girl that led us through the tour was great!
