The Other Tales - Escape Rooms Hawthorne

Finished all three escape rooms and each time had a blast. Finished Once Upon a Winter a year ago and Mitch was friendly and supportive. Just finished Anomaly today and Chris was a great host and guide. Would definitely recommend the Other Tales to friends to check out.

Delightfully hand-crafted experiences that show so much love, care, and creativity. Expect cozy, clever puzzles, not large, flashy effects or sets. These are amongst the top experiences youll find in the NYC area. Very highly recommend!

My friend and I had a great time in the winter room. It has a cute story. Chris was very helpful. As 2 experienced adults, I thought there was enough for both of us to do, but more than 4 people might have been too many.

One of the best rooms I ever played. Done with incredible amount of love and taste. Id gladly give 10 stars out of five. Our game master Eric was fantastic.

Me and my bf loved this place so much, we ended up doing all 3 of their escape rooms in the same weekend! lol. Shout out to our game masters Mitch, Bariq, and Eric! All the rooms were very different and quite challenging. We escaped from all of them just in the nick of time. Once upon a winter is their newest room and has very nice audio/visual effects. Don t be fooled by the fairytale theme as time runs out pretty quickly amongst all the puzzles! All 3 rooms were awesome but I think we loved Adventure Society the most and found the Anomaly to be the most difficult. Highly impressed with this place and would recommend to anyone!

Absolutely terrific. Went here with kids twice and had two equally great experiences. The two rooms we did (winter tale and adventure) were better designed and more interesting than most other escape rooms Ive done. All the puzzles made sense, and were not at all repetitive. Although certainly not a kids escape room, it was very kid friendly and they were able to get a few puzzles. Cant wait to try the final room, and hope they expand soon!

Went with family on a whim on a late afternoon on a tuesday and had an amazing time! Despite the small room space, the puzzles are quite clever and fun, and our game guide, Eric, was excellent at giving us just enough hints for us to experience the whole room without telling us too much and making it easy. He was also very pleasant and welcoming. All around 5 stars! Will be coming back for the other rooms.

This room was a ton of fun! We had Eric has our game master and he was excellent at nudging us in the right direction if needed while giving us a ton of autonomy to solve it ourselves. The puzzles were challenging but solvable with the right amount of thought (nothing too ambiguous). We highly recommend!

Overall a stellar experience. This was my first escape room ever, and doing it on my birthday especially was probably the best choice I could have made to spend my time today. I was originally skeptical but thanks to our great game guide Eric, he helped us immerse and made our game as fun as possible. He wasnt intrusive, nor leaving us to fend for ourselves for the hour we were there. It was the perfect amount of guidance and the game couldnt have gone better. Thanks again to Eric and the team for giving my friends and I an incredible birthday celebration!

Absolutely fantastic experience! We visited this escape room on Fathers Day, and it was an unforgettable adventure. The puzzles were challenging and creative, and the atmosphere was incredibly immersive. Rozyn, the game guide, was amazing super helpful and friendly, providing just the right amount of guidance without giving too much away. His enthusiasm and knowledge really added to the experience. Highly recommend this escape room for anyone looking for a fun and engaging challenge. Well definitely be back! Five stars!

I purchased party of 4 tickets for 7:30pm but somehow the receipt had 5:30pm. I called so many times the number on the website, texted the number as said you could on the website and emailed. No response from 1pm to 5pm. We had to rearrange our plans to rush there. There were 2 at the front desk. The young guy said the phone didnt ring. When I asked for that phone number, the guy said its for outgoing calls so how could it ring then? This is for the customer service. We were greeted by Geo our guide and he was wonderful and we still had a blast. Thanks Geo! :) Update: We received a discount for the inconvenience, this is my 2nd time here and will return with my group. Thank you!

Will definitely come again. We did once upon a winter and the puzzle was challenging with lots of different fun elements. Eric gave us hints when he noticed we were stuck but not too many so we still felt challenged. The details in the room were top notch and of beautiful quality.

Had such a good time, it was our first time doing one of the rooms here and it definitely wont be our last. Gio was a great support in getting us set up and throughout the experience when it was requested. Highly recommend!

The rooms are very well thought out and put together. We had so much fun with our first room that we decided to come back on the same night to do another. The staff is friendly and helpful! Eric is a wonderful guide and I would recommend this experience to any adventure seekers out there!

My husband and I had a great time with the Once Upon A Winter room. It is a great quality room and also challenging. Nothing inside was janky and everything was well thought out. Our game master, Chris, was also excellent one of the best game masters we have had. We will be coming back!

We celebrated our Anniversary doing this Escape Room. Our Room guide was amazing. This was a lot of fun and we will definitely be back. Our room was challenging but we were able to solve it with some hints from our guide. I highly recommend this adventure. Price was reasonable and worth every penny.

This was a fun and unique experience. The winter room was full of surprises. The puzzles were challenging but not overly hard. Chris was such a great guide. He gave us time to figure things out but knew when we needed help before we got too overwhelmed. We ll be back and definitely recommend.

McKenzie was a great guide and helped us. Amazing escape room, perfect for my 13th birthday party. Any age groups and any number of people works, and teamwork is key. Amazing Adventure Society was the best of their three escape rooms, but they are all amazing. Awesome objects, and a real brain teaser. Overall, one of the best places Ive been for my birthday. Looking forward to coming here many more times.

Alex is the worst manager I ve ever encountered and has the worst customer service. I booked with this place and had to call to reschedule because my girl friend was sick so considering it s in a room with other people we thought best not to get other people sick. Well Alex the POS manager there would not allow us to reschedule and when I cancelled he never even cancelled us in the system nor was an email sent. I received a call later from a nicer employee who seemed to actually...

It was so much fun!! Eric was our game guide and helped us find things we overlooked often. We had one minute to spear for our first time ever doing an escape room. I definitely recommend giving this place a shot!

Great game! My friend and I do escape rooms very often. We ve done tons of them, and this one was definitely impressive! We did the Winter Tales room. The effects were really cool and we loved how the puzzles were solved. Our game master McKenzie was wonderful! Highly recommend!

Me and my teen did the adventure room today and we had such a great time ! Erick was amazing , he explained everything very well and was there for us when we were confused and stuck . We are most definitely coming back to check out the other rooms ! Thank you Erick for everything !

I brought a bunch of 11 year old girls to the Other Tales and they had a total blast. Eric was amazing and led them along the way when they were stuck a couple of times... Overall it was an hour very well spent.

Erick was an amazing game master! The puzzles were engaging and the hints were timely but did not make the games too easy. A great time with the family. Highly recommended and we will be back soon.

Very fun and the staff (Mitch) was helpful (just enough to keep us on track without giving too much away). We went as a family of 4 (two teens) and finished just in time so it was challenging but fun.

Excellent and well designed rooms. We have traveled all over the country doing escape rooms and these were all unique with wonderful theming! Eric, Jay and Mitch were excellent game masters. Great experience!

Did the Anomaly room (for wife s Birthday) with Chris as our host, and it was challenging, exciting and fu!! The 8 of us solved it but with only 20 seconds to spare.

Had a great time playing Once Upon a Winter! The lighting and sound effects gave the room a nice atmosphere and there were some cool puzzles Ive never seen before. Chris was very friendly and a great game master.

Our family has done all three of the rooms at The Other Tales and loved all of them!!! All of the game masters have been great as well. We just completed our last room today and Eric did a fantastic job as our game master. Highly recommend this place!!!

Such a fun time with the littles! We had such a blast and everyone got to use their noggin and contribute. Erick was a fabulous moderator and definitely helped us with some clues guiding us in the right direction when necessary. Our hour went by quickly (technically a little over but he was gracious enough in letting us finish).
