I typically review what I believe may be the single best escape room that I can find in any major metropolitan city that I visit. Boston was not a disappointment. I chose the Insane Asylum and it was a fantastic escape room. The look feel and functionality was spot on. The sound system took it up another level which was awesome. Admittedly, I did need a few hints but I totally loved this escape room and am glad that I visited. Highly recommend!

Our first time going to one but unfortunately not impressed. I do appreciate them allowing us our hour time as we were late & lost finding the place. Staff was friendly & accommodating yet, the lady giving the hints seem perturbed. After our request for the 3rd hint(we get 5), she gave a sigh which was very much heard by all in the room. At that point I was done. Looking forward to other options in the area.

We came here on Saturday and had a great time! Lydia was amazing and very prompt when we needed hints. The hour absolutely flew by and while we didnt get all of our clues, we still had a lot of fun, and all the puzzles in the room were well thought out entertaining.

Lydia is an awesome game master- professional, kind, informative, and accommodating. My husband and I did the Atlantis room. It seems it is accurately rated as hard, especially with a 2-person group. We had fun.

I was only in Boston for the day but me and my friends decided on a whim to book an escape room! It was so much fun and the staff were lovely, me and my friends are from the UK so it was lovely to finally have some people who are accommodating for us! We did The Red Wire I think it was called where we had to save London from being attacked but we had so much fun figuring out the puzzles and riddles. I definitely recommend visiting them if you are ever in Boston!

Lydia was our adventure guide and she was awesome -- my 11 year old son and his two pals solved the Red Wire with about 10 seconds to spare.

My wife and I did the insane asylum and Atlantis, but this room did not live up to our expectations. Lydia was great and really nice, but unfortunately, the place seems understaffed and Lydia was busy helping other groups half the time. When we did get help, we could not hear her over the low speaker volume and loud music. Given 60 minutes, it felt like half the time was spent on trivial actions like finding where to place certain items after already solving the puzzle. An escape room should be...
mentally stimulating and puzzlely, not being frustrated over time consuming tricks. The props and room was built cheaply and it seemed like not much effort was put into creating the room unlike other places in Boston. In Paniq s favor, the theme was fun and some puzzles were satisfying, but the puzzles/room was not well connected. For ~45$ per person, we expected good and consistent service along with a satisfying escape room experience. Again, Lydia was extremely lively; however, this doesn t make up for the flaws of this place. Take your money elsewhere such as Red Fox Escapes and Boxaroo where you get 100% attention and an overall lovely experience where it feels like effort was put into the room. EDIT (Response to owner): After the insane asylum, we thought your room was unsatisfactory but decided to give it another chance by asking Lydia what her suggestion was. She liked Atlantis, so we decided to give Paniq another chance. I understand that we needed many hints, but Lydia shouldn t even have to look at other groups. We have never experienced this before especially when booking a PRIVATE room. We have booked places at Trapology, Red Fox, and Boxaroo, all places which had excellent private service without having to monitor several rooms. Moreover, we were simply giving feedback on the quality of your rooms in comparison to other rooms in the area, but you guys decided to take it very personally. Confidence in your room is fine, but we were simply providing feedback and your response was extremely condescending and disregarded all of our concerns. This says a lot about your company and how you as an owner treat your customers.

Me and my friends went here on a Saturday night for the 10:30pm room in the Cartel room. In total we spent about $120. We heard the workers talking badly about us in the other room, complaining, saying that they wished we weren t there and they just wanted to go home and get high instead. This was 2 hours before closing so we thought it was fine. When we got inside the room and the game started, majority of the game was already finished and the door connected to the other room (that was supposed...
to be locked) was open. Almost everything inside was already opened and completed, so they clearly did not restart the room for us. We tried to ask for hints, which took forever to receive while we heard the workers yelling and laughing in the other room. Then we asked for somebody to come in and asked why half of the stuff was not reset, which we were then told our magnets don t work sometimes. It wasnt just one thing, it was pretty much half of it. We then asked for a refund and we (hopefully) will get it back, since it s still in the process on our cards. Then we left, and heard them laughing about us in the other room on the way out. Overall, nothing worked and nothing was reset. Workers were unprofessional. I ve never had a bad experience for an escape room but this was!

We completed the Atlantis escape. This was well done and a little on the smaller side of escape rooms we have done. It was 2 rooms and many that we have done are 4-5 rooms. Good location, close to the Boston tourist areas. Easy access from the T.

Came here last Wednesday with a big group - we split into 2, with some of us doing The Red Wire and the others doing Cartel Crackdown. It was definitely fun although we needed multiple hints to get through! My main complaint was there was only one gamemaster running both rooms at the same time, which delayed things significantly (ie. We had to wait upwards of 5 min to get a hint sometimes bc the the other group was getting help).

Booked the Atlantis room for 3 people for 125 dollars. I spent almost twenty minutes talking to a camera with no response after clicking hint. They told us after we didn t finish the room apologizing because they were helping other people . We paid as much as others but didn t get any help I came on a Sunday not even a Saturday. The room was very cool but the service so bad it ruined our experience bc time ran out. The workers were nice but definitely not the slightest attentive.

We did the Atlantis room (2 people). Were pretty experienced with Escape rooms and can manage to finish hard rooms on our own. We had a lot of trouble with this room. Rather than have props serve as subtle hints that lead you forward, you kind of just have to take random items and try all the things. Even in hindsight I still dont understand how I was supposed to know you do X given Y. Puzzles range from obvious + time consuming, not obvious, kind of broken, and a bonus red herring thrown in. Besides that, the game masters are so friendly, the set is beautiful and immersive, and some of the puzzles were fun to do!

Super fun and creative puzzles! We ve done a bunch of these as a family of five (ages 9-40s). And this one was so neat and different! No locks all magnets, lights and sounds. The room was really immersive and multi sensory.
