Enigma Escapes WA - Tacoma's Premier Escape Room

This was my first escape room experience and it was amazing. Before you enter, you need to sign a waiver and watch a short video about locks. Then you leave your phones in the locker and enter the room. We chose the cure (success rate 35%). The room looked like it didnt have much stuff but once you start looking for clues and open boxes one by one, the room gets interesting. We solved it in 59 minutes and 56 seconds. The Game Master is very attentive.

This is my 4th time here and, as usual, loved it. I had some friends up from Portland and we arrived 20 minutes early. I asked if we could be let in, since it was starting to rain, and they had no problem even getting us into our room early. Very accommodating to let me add another member to our team, who last minute found they could make it. Escape room was fun, clues were well-done. We accidentally solved one clue before getting the clues for it, so that was fun, doing things a little out of order because we fiddled with things. Always look forward to new rooms.

Ive completed all four rooms available at this venue, and all four were an absolutely fantastic experience! All of the locks/puzzles functioned correctly, the themes were fun and immersive, and each room had a unique set of challenges to puzzle out.

This was mine and my boyfriends very first experience so it was totally fun and out of the ordinary. We ended up doing the Paradox Labs escape room which was totally out of our element but we managed to make a decent progress but not close to escaping. I really enjoyed the time there and the staff (Silas) was awesome, fun to work with and engaging. We would definitely be back no doubt to try out other escape rooms experience that they have to offer. Definitely recommend as a fun and secure place to be!

The Condemned was our favorite of the 4 rooms weve done here. Its easier than the Sorcerers Recue, but harder than The Estate or the Christmas room (didnt see that available this year). We definitely had a scare or two, but no one was terrified beyond recovery. It was just spooky enough to make it fun for older kids. As always, we got great hints to keep us going without spoiling the fun. This was perfect for a smaller group.

Edit (2): Done all their rooms! Now my personal ranking... The Condemned easily takes the top spot as one of my favorite rooms of all time. Runner up is the Cure, a nice, large, science based room. Third is The Estate, the most classic feeling escape room, but still a fun room. And finally Sorcerers Rescue, a very challenging room with a low escape room that we found frustrating at times. Overall all of Enigmas rooms are high quality and you really cant go wrong here... I look forward to playing...
Read full review the experience that will replace The Estate eventually! Edit: Came back for Sorcerers Rescue. This room was decent, but did not compare to how much fun we had in the Condemned. It was a good room dont get me wrong, but there were a few moments that were questionable and a bit too many padlocks for a magical room that felt very out of place. The GM plays far less of a role here, which is what I think made the Condemned stand out so much for me. Overall we had a good time, but if you are up for some scares maybe choose the Condemned over Sorcerers Rescue. My team of 2 did the Condemned and it was an excellent experience. The set design was nice and the story line was solid, but the real highlight was our gamemaster Anna. She provided an excellent introduction to the room and did amazing running the room. Our team was having some back-and-forth banter on theme with the character and it was so fun! She read the room well (how our group acted, jokingly and laughing while be scared) and went along with it by providing lots of impromptu and on-theme responses. After the room, we talked about the mechanics and puzzles within the room and gave some cool insight. All gamemasters should takes notes of her work, even at other locations. So much fun!! Great fun for the entire family! The Lab Room was challenging and well thought out with lots of surprises! The Staff was very nice! Parking was easy and there is wheelchair access.

A great escape room, they have two rooms. We scheduled online and received a military discount. It was easy to make the reservation. They do book rooms to capacity for each room, but if no one signs up you may be able to get a room for just your group. We were lucky and didn t have another group with us to escape. There was plenty of parking when we came and there are restrooms on site. My wife and I have done a bunch of escape rooms and this was definitely one of the better ones we have been to. The staff was attentive and very friendly. They seem to love their job and enjoy being there. We definitely will be back to attempt the other room.

Such a fantastic experience! We had Anna as our guide and she was so amazing with vibes, immersion and witty responses. My friend and I did the Cure and we had tons and tons of fun; puzzles are not too complicated that you have to come in with background knowledge, but just hard enough to make you work your brain muscles! I will totally come back for more experiences in the other offered escape rooms. :)

This escape room venue is top-notch. Very fun games, excellent staff, and clean designs! We just played The Condemned and couldnt stop talking about it. Definitely check them out if youre in Tacoma!

The experience from booking the room to being able to be in the room was amazing, and the best part was getting out. I wish that it was more affordable to so that I could go more often. It was a great time.

Great experience! Our host, Bri, was phenomenal and made the experience so enjoyable. She was very personable, helpful, and really made it as much fun as possible. The room itself was really fun, could use a couple modifications (like one of the locks we actually accidentally opened and that should be replace, but I hear they re also retiring the room we were in so that may be a moot point anyway). I can t wait to go back and try another room!

Wonderful experience every time I have been! We recently did a room with Ambrosia as our host, and she was truly incredible and kept us laughing the whole way through.. she is a gem! Will absolutely be back for more!

We have done three rooms here and love it! The sorcerers one is incredibly cool (we got out but 2 min over time) but it was an amazing set up with great clues. I also really like the cure. Grandmas house aka the Estate (?) is pretty easy but great for beginners. Great staff who always get into the themes!

Ambrosia was amazing, also Teddy(?) deserves a raise. Sassy and hilarious, made the immersive experience so much better. Really enjoyed it and would love to go again when I get the chance. Totally recommend!

Oh my word, this was so much fun. Weve done several escape rooms, and this one was great. The room itself (the Sorcerers Rescue) was creative and very entertaining. The staff worked hard to keep it all thematic and fun for our whole group. We had a group member with low mobility, and the staff were very helpful by placing an extra chair in the escape room and making sure we had access to the elevator without making a big deal about it. We were celebrating a milestone birthday, and the birthday person LOVED it. Definitely would come back for another escape!

Very friendly staff and great escape rooms! We may have died but we had fun trying to escape! We had a great time and will definitely be coming back.

This is the third time my partner and I have been to Enigma and it is always a great time! We finally got around to doing The Cure room today and really enjoyed it! The two of us completed it with only a few minutes to spare, but still felt it was the perfect length. The theme of the room was unique and had various types of puzzles that kept both of us busy during the hour. The hints from the game masters were helpful and definitely kept us on the right path. We look forward to doing the last room at this location!

My family of Four played The Condemned and it was by far the best escape room experience we ve had. I ve played several before with different companies and this one soooo much fun. This specific one is more interactive than the other rooms. And does have a couple jump scares. I can t rave enough at how much fun it was though! Definitely had to think outside the box than your usual escape room.

This was honestly one of the best date nights we had in awhile. We will also 100% be back with our friends. We did the Sorcerer room, which was super hard but the funnest in my opinion. Ellie was our person and she was truly a wizard (and gave us so many clues)! We also just had a great time with the staff, who were so nice and made everything easy for us. Would 10/10 recommend this place, in particular the Sorcerer room. We heard the Condemned room is also a scary, fun one and will be back for that too.

This was such a fun room! So many fun clues and riddles to solve. Definitely nice to have at least 4 people.

So much fun!!! We did The Condemned not just because spooky season but I wanted a room that could realistically be done with 3 people and this one was PERFECT. Ambrosia was our amazing wonderful game master, we absolutely loved her! She was so much fun and I m glad we saved her life. Though peace to our homie Bennie, we will hold you in our hearts.

This was our first time doing an escape room and we had so much fun! The staff definitely went out of their way to make sure we had fun. The room was challenging and exciting, definitely recommend for anyone looking to have group fun!

So much fun! My sister and I did The Condemned room and had a blast! Ive been to 3 other Escape Rooms before and this is the first that was more physical than just find the key and the game masters kept things on theme. Definitely going back and for sure recommend! I hope they get more rooms, especially ones that are recommended for 2 players since I prefer small groups.

So fun! Really well done rooms, we have done 4 at this point and love to bring our friends when in town to mix up the activities.

Anna as Benny and Ambrose as our guide into our escape room were both so amazing! They helped makes our experience awesome. My group has only done one other escape room but this one was SO fun! I won t spoil anything but it was very fun and interactive. We will definitely be coming back here again and I ll be recommending this to lots of people :) 5 stars all around!!!

So much fun! Great customer service! We were in the condemned room and it was so much fun. The building is in a good location and they keep the building secure so that only those who make reservations are allowed inside. I would definitely go back to this escape room.
