Black Cat Escape Room Virginia Beach

We attended our first escape room here! We liked the first so much we came back the next night and did another room! Emma (Emily? Sorry!) was an awesome game master during our Dollhouse room! The place has such an awesome vibe and the decorations and props are top notch! The second night we did BlackCat speakeasy (intermediate level) and it was thrilling! It was difficult, yet, not so much so we couldnt escape (41 seconds to spare!). 10/10 recommend and cant wait to go back! *Is very difficult to see from the road because it is inside an office building. Look for the building marked parkway 2!*

Amazing stories and the design and detail is second to none. Love they can tailor the room to difficulty levels. My 9, 10, and 14 year old loved the doll house which had a full immersion story and was a wee bit scary, but in a fun way. Weve gone to 8 others as a family, but hands down the best and most fun. Everything is super detailed and the rooms are private so no random folks joining you

We completed the Speakeasy escape room at the Black Cat Escape Room today and it was a really well done and exciting room. We finished it on the advanced difficulty level and I was more than pleasantly surprised by the theming and backstory that the Black Cat used to prepare the room! The puzzles involved more than your simple lock/key or combination locks and had a variety of fun puzzles to solve. Our guide, Emma, was helpful and kind, her enthusiasm and excitement during the experience was refreshing and I highly recommend her as an escape room master! If we come back to Virginia Beach we will do their other room for sure! Thanks for the great experience and hope to be back in the future!

We had the best time time in the dollhouse themed room!! Derek did a great job with setting us up and making sure we knew the rules and reminded us to have fun,which we did!!Everything was set up perfectly and it was just the right amount of scary! And even had us stumped for a few minutes. Thankfully we finished with minutes to spare.Will definitely be back to try the other escape rooms you offer,especially the speakeesie themed room! Great experience and we all had a blast!!

Went for our 11th Wedding annivarsary!! It was a blast! And it was our first escape room! We had Jaden as our game master and he was amazing! and super excited that thus was our first time! We had the black cat speak easy and I loved the set up! You feel like your transported back to that time era! Also we were greeted by a lady before we met our game master I dont remember her name! But she was super professional and excited it was our first time too. If this is your first or 100th escape room you need to come check these guys out!! Words enough cant describe this place we will be back for many years to come excited to see the new rooms in the future!!

All I m going to say is, QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. There are other escape rooms in Virginia Beach with 5+ escape room options. Even though this one only has 2, they re the best, well thought out, & spacious multi-room escape rooms in Virginia Beach. Do NOT pick any other escape room in this city without trying this one. & No I don t know anything working here personally. If you look at my review history, my boyfriend & I are Escape Room gurus, & we do not play about escape rooms. We ve done both rooms & 10/10, we recommend.

We had our friends from Canada do this with us. So our ages ranged from 15-65 years old. Six of us did it together and it was the most fun we have had this entire trip so far. Seriously, if you have NOT gone to The Black Cat Escape room then you are missing out. We will be going back in next 10 days and doing The Dollhouse one. So much fun!! Very well put together. Each room we were able to get into was just as much fun as the one before.

Our law firm chose the Black Cat Escape room for our team building event and it was 100% the right choice. We split into two groups because of our size and we got to experience the Speakeasy and the Doll House rooms. From the moment we met the owners until the moment we left, the experience was fantastic. This was the first time we did an escape room as a family although each of us have had an escape room experience with other people or groups in the past. We unanimously agree that this was hands down THE BEST escape room experience. Even walking into the lobby area where you are greeted and provided instructions, will give you pause, that you are in for a good time. There is a lot of attention to detail to the waiting area and to the escape room experience. We did the Dollhouse and we loved it! Two thumbs up for showing us a good time. This was a last minute addition to our vacation itinerary which made for a wonderful memory we still speak about weeks later.

My husband and I went here while on vacation. We did the standard level Dollhouse room. We solved the mystery and made it out with minimal help. We had a lot of fun! Awesome experience! We would definitely go back.

First time trying an escape room. Chose the intermediate level Speak Easy. We had a great time. We did need a hint or two, but was able to work our way through it. Fun and challenging. We will be going again for the Doll House.

Third or fourth room we ve done.. we did the stray cat speakeasy. The quality of the decorating in this place is phenomenal. Our game master Derek was great. We knew it was going to be a great experience as soon as we walked in and saw the aesthetics of the lobby. Cool gizmos and mechanisms in the room as well. They ve definitely put some money into this room. We re all bummed out we re on vacation and won t be able to do their other room. Cheers for this place, check it out!

The dollhouse escape room was the absolute best. The atmosphere was creepy just the right amount. My fiance and I got goosebumps few times and enjoyed it very much. The puzzles were challenging but not overly complicated. We highly recommend it.

We did both of the rooms in the same day and both Everett and Jaden were great game masters. Out of all of the escape rooms that I have done these are in the top three. The rooms are wonderfully put together. I am very excited to come back to do the next rooms they have coming out.

We had such a fun time playing The Dollhouse. The decorations are amazing (and terrifying) which made us feel really immersed while solving the puzzles. Luckily, we solved everything just in time! Cant wait to try again in the other rooms.

We had high hopes for the Black Cat Escape room, and it was great! Cailey was very welcoming and professional as our host. We have two kids (11 and 9), and it was the perfect level of difficulty (standard version). The Speakeasy Room had cool props and challenges to keep everyone busy. Wed definitely come back another time!

We absolutely loved this place! As soon as you walk in, you feel like the lobby itself is an escape room So far we only have completed the Dollhouse only here with 2 people! Our game-master was excellent and friendly, she was so immersed in the story telling and passion with the rooms that are there. Definitely can t wait to do the other rooms soon enough!

We are HUGE escape room and puzzle fans. Of all the escape rooms we have tried, Black Cat has been our favorite by far. From the moment we stepped into the waiting room, we were absolutely blown away by the attention to detail put into this place. We enjoyed the Christmas room so much, we came back the very next day to attempt the dollhouse! I can t express enough how incredible our game masters Emma (Christmas room) and Thaddeus (Dollhouse) were! We genuinely enjoyed every part of the game and will be back to master the remaining rooms soon!

Oh my goodness! We had a blast finding clues and solving the case! This was our first time doing an escape room And there were three of us. Such a fun experience with them. We will definitely come back for another case to solve. The rooms were beautifully set up, it almost felt like we were in another time zone for a while! Bring those thinking caps!!

We stopped by the Black Cat Escape Room while visiting Virginia Beach. The staff was very professional and friendly..Derrik our game master helped us select our appropriate skill level for our mixed group. We were able to escape with 20 seconds to spare..lot of laughs, screams, and memories were made. Great place for an evening out!

Black Cat is a fantastic escape room experience!! The storyline in The Dollhouse was creative and immersive, the puzzles were challenging and fun, and the attention to detail top notch. We had a blast!!

The dollhouse was so much fun! Every year my bestie and I do something to celebrate our birthdays and this year we chose Black Cat Escape room... it did not disappoint! We may have found a new tradition! We solved the mystery with 4 minutes to spare!

Cailey, our game master, was fabulous. Her energy was infectious and her explanation of the rules was streamlined/easy to understand. The Black Cat Escape Room was epic with the decorations and we all enjoyed getting our Nancy Drew on to make our way out of the room.

We hosted a party for a 12 yo girl and her friends. This was a blast! Everyone enjoyed the challenge. The level of detail blew us away. The birthday girl was already planning a return trip for her next birthday. Thank you for a great experience!

Thank you Thaddeus for a great experience. Our first time and everything was great. A little challenging not too hard not too easy, it was just right for a little date night.

We love Black Cat and have done both rooms along with their Christmas room this year! The staff is beyond enthusiastic, kind, and go above and beyond to make it an enjoyable experience. The atmosphere just from the moment you step into the lobby is breathtaking and is definitely far beyond the quality of many other escape rooms in the area. We also like how you can alter the difficulty of the rooms you are playing to better suit the level your group is up for. Overall we ve had wonderful experiences with Black Cat and highly recommend it to anyone. We can t wait for the new rooms to open!

The Speakeasy escape room was a very nice, well put together escape room! We have done quite a few escape rooms in Va Beach and this is definitely one of the best!! Would highly recommend. 10/10!

The girls had a great time and the gentleman leading us through was very nice and gave girls extra time to finish which I thought was lovely of them. Definitely want to try the other escape room now! Definitely recommend this place!

This was my first time ever doing an escape room and I was not disappointed. The decor is outstanding and the clues are challenging and immersive. The attention to detail and creativity that goes into each room is incredible. Had an excellent time on a double date with our friends. We ll be back for sure :)

What a fun way to celebrate my sons 14th birthday as a family! There were 13 of us, with some as young as 5 and as old as 47, but all of us had a hand in solving the escape room. The host suggested we try an intermediate challenge since were so many of us. Plus, some of us have tried other escape rooms before, so we were up for the challenge. Admittedly, we did have to ask the operator for clues a few times, but we did work as a team, and ended up solving it with 2 minutes to spare. It was satisfying...

I also enjoyed the theme and design of the Stray Cat Speakeasy room and the antique look of it all. One suggestion: a reminder text or email the night prior or day of the event would be helpful to receive. Overall though, I highly recommend it.
