Escape Room RVA Richmond

Our Escape Room experience was awesome! Interesting puzzles and professionally done and intricate. We went as a group of four for a date night starting activity and had a super fun time. Even better that we actually escaped our room barely, with just a few minutes to spare. Highly recommend!

AWESOME PLACE! Took 7 15 y/os through the Shadow of Cthulhu this past weekend and what a fun escape room! The greeter and the young lady that set the stage and rules for you were hilarious! She made the kids dance for their clues! The ice cream sandwiches were a cute touch. TGreat place to go for a date night too!!

Employee was very nice and helpful! The room was decorated so well and we had a blast! Cant wait to go again!

Looking for some room adventures? Then this place is for you. You will be joining with the team solving puzzles in the room in order to escape. Your team have only one (1) hour in order to solve the puzzle. Free water, sodas and ice cream in the waiting room. Solving the room will grant you a badge gift. Great staff ready to assist you. Overall it s fun for getting together with your friends or families.

I ve been coming to this establishment for over 4 years now. I ve never had a bad experience with the rooms, staff, or anything else. I have done over 5 rooms here and every one has an outstanding amount of detail. When you step in it feels like you re stepping into another world with so much to look at and work with. A great challenge but not too easy/hard and helpful staff members to point you in the right direction. Would come again, best place for escape rooms in the area!

Great rooms, great staff, highly recommend! We traveled to the area to make a day of escape rooms and did all four of the current rooms. Vampires, Unicorns, Lost Jewel of the James, and Vanity. We had a great time here and would recommend all of their rooms to both beginners and enthusiasts. Their waiting lounge is also great, especially since we were there most of the afternoon. The buttons were a great touch! --- Vampire: 8 out of 10 Fun room for the 3 of us, but I can imagine the first room would be really cramped with 7. The set decorations were top-notch, we loved the scattered bones and floor covering. We had a lot of fun exploring the rooms and blocking out the unicorns as we completed puzzles. The only issue we ran into was that sometimes we didn t realize the puzzle doors had opened. Putting a bell on the door or adding an audio clip would be a great addition. We weren t a huge fan of the counting puzzle, but that was because we were overly paranoid about stuff like do the pictures count? --- Unicorn: 9 out of 10 Our favorite room of the day (4 here and 4 with another company). We loved the music, it kept us upbeat and moving. Puzzles were fun and felt unique. The problem we had not noticing the doors opening in Vampires wasn t as big a deal in here because of the fairy-lights tucked behind each door. The light shining out of the door in the dim room was a great visual clue something had happened. The set design was fantastic. The room decorations were great and the puzzles felt fun and engaging. We had one tech failure towards the end, but Alex spotted it before we realized something was wrong and walked us through fixing it. --- Lost Jewel of the James: 8 out of 10 Wow, this set design was amazing (and our 2nd favorite of the day). The lighting, the decorations, everything. Still a bit mean for the tall guy, but only when going from room to room. Alex made this room come to life with his voice-acting and banter. There was an unexpected reveal at one point that really surprised us, something rare given the number of rooms we ve done. We got stuck at one point because we tried triggering a puzzle early and assumed that wasn t the answer later when we needed it, but it only took a quick hint to get us back on track. Our biggest issue were the chalk boards not sure what happened to them, but we couldn t easily get them to take the chalk --- Vanity: 7.5 out of 10 A good room, but not really my flavor. The concept is original and well implemented, but the aging starlet theme didn t excite me. Some really great room reveals though and great use of technology. We did run into a few problems of our own creation forgetting to thoroughly search areas, etc. I think our only real complaint was one puzzle that felt overly long and laborious - thematic, but so much sorting...

Great, fun, and challenging. I have done all of their rooms and they are a top notch company. The rooms are original, well decorated, and have great puzzles. Staff is welcoming, helpful, and enjoy what they do. HIGHLY recommended!

We all enjoyed our escape room experience here. We went as a group of seven ages 25-40 and picked expert mode because we do this a lot. The room we picked was silent space and was astronaut themed. The room was well decorated and the ambiance was great. The puzzles were well paced and there were just enough of them. Flow was ok. The story kinda fell off towards the end and Im not exactly sure what the end plot was. Not a huge distraction though as we enjoyed the rest of the game. Biggest concerns...
Read full review of the room was at the very start, there is a 4-6 barrier you need to step over that goes across the whole walking path on the floor and the room was very dark so I tripped on it. Easy solution - remove it, point it out, or illuminate it. This room does contain obvious stepping up, crawling, and walking on a sloped incline. They do mention crawling as a warning. The customer service was nice and our host was friendly and got us a clue when we asked for it without us waiting, good job!

Played Algernons Shop of Magical Goods great great room and lots of fun. Game master was amazing as well not sure his name. We will definitely be back to try the other rooms.

Escape rooms are such a fun way to hang out with friends! Im very competitive so I have a blast at escape rooms. That being the case, I have been to a lot of different places. Escape room RVA is my favorite in Richmond that is open. I have probably done six different rooms here and they are always fun and multi part rooms! Definitely recommend!

Six of us came for a friends birthday and we had an amazing time! The escape room was the perfect balance between challenging and achievable if everyone works together. We ended up escaping! The room we did was Shadow of Cthulhu. I loved the aesthetic of both the building itself and the escape room. We were surprised to see the guy at the front desk walk through the bookshelf lol. From the outside, this place looks very small and hidden, but I feel that just adds to the whole escape room vibe. Its definitely a lot bigger once you go inside, and it seems to be underground. Overall it was a wonderful experience for my first ever escape room and I would definitely recommend it to people.

My first experience in an escape room, I have to say it will probably be my last. Not because the experience was bad but just because when I think of fun I dont think of challenging puzzles and tests of some sort. The people I went with, very good friends of mine, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and Im sure will visit another escape room in the near future. It really is an activity that not everyone is going to enjoy but because my friends enjoyed it and the people were very friendly it wasnt a bad experience at all.

So much fun! Great set up, loved the room very creative. Tye people that work there are all amazing. Very nice and helpful. You can tell they love their job and want to make the best experience for their customers!

Weve completed 4 rooms here and have loved them all. They are insanely creative and the detail is amazing.

They have a few rooms with different themes you can choose from. My sister and I did The Matrix and we were delighted at how elaborate and thrilling it was. We came on a weekday and were the only ones there. The staff was really awesome and they seemed like they were having fun too. Edit: I went back again this weekend and AGAIN had such a blast. We got out in the nick of time and there were tons of puzzles and surprises. Definitely going back soon for the Cthulhu room :)

We had the best experience ever last night at the Escape room RVA on three chop road. Excellent customer service! First time doing an escape room and I can tell this is will be our new regular ! Highly recommend!

This place was amazing. Anna gave clues that were helpful without giving the game away and the effects were fantastic. Strongly recommended!!

10/22/2023. We went here today as a family for my birthday celebration and had an absolute BLAST!! Great set up, great game and amazing staff! The multi-room set up and depth of the challenges are outstanding! Top notch!!! We did the Cthulu room and cant wait to try the others! Game master Dude, (sorry, Im horrible with names) You were the best!!! Thank you!!!

I booked last min and it was a great experience. The lady did a wonderful job with us. Definitely looking to go back again

We have done two of the rooms in the past month. And will continue to come back! I love that the place itself is a little find! The staff is so friendly. For people new to escape rooms, this is definitely for you, even those who are experienced! Most do have low lighting, and you have to crawl or bend, but it captivates you!

My wife and I love this place. The rooms are very well done and not your topical cookie cutter type. The staff is amazing especially Michael who did our last 2 rooms. Thank you guys for all the good times can t wait until you add another room.

Awesome experience. Went with my wife for our anniversary. Super challenging, but fair. We did not pass, but we had a blast. The game master, Avery, was great and really fun. He gave great hints and was super helpful. We will definitely rebook.

We did Algernon s Shop of Magical Goods, and it really was magical! The production value here is one of the best in RVA. You re immersed in mystery from the moment you find the place! (Climbing down to the basement, staff walking out from secret doors, your GM, etc.) Our GM Jo was outstanding and made the experience even better! This room in particular was whimsical, spooky, and funny at times! I wouldn t recommend bringing kids, but it s perfect for both horror lovers and those who are chickens (me lol). Come check them out!

No celebration at the end, pictures with signs, just a have a good night. Waiting room area is a bit strange, it s separated by a glass window. Location of it is strange, have to go behind the cvs next to dumpster areas just to find the door. Shadow of Cthulhu Room was very nice. Game master was a very nice lady and helpful. Overall vibe could ve been a little better.

It was pretty awesome. They are very customer service friendly. When a part of the room snagged, they came to fix it. The cool thing was that, because it wasnt our fault, they stopped the timer in our room. Only major downside was a very slow moving device, and a last minute call on the day before for making room changes. Other than that, it was awesome.

We had a wonderful experience completing the Cake or Death escape room! Cat did a great job designing the room and welcoming us. The game was challenging but not overwhelming. We got to enter several rooms and all had something to work on to keep us engaged. The staff was friendly and inviting. We will definitely be back!

Best time ever! Making the reservation was easy, and they were able to accommodate my larger party (9 players). My group was a mix of newbies and experienced. It was my 2nd time at Escape Room RVA, but everyone elses first. The newbies were excited, the experienced agreed it was the best theyve ever done. We all agree we cant wait to visit again. The themes are so creative. Our group managed to escape within 45 minutes, thanks to our nudges. It was so fun, after we were done, we hung out in parking lot and talked about our experience, shared lots of laughs.

Been to a lot of escape rooms and this was by far my favorite!! Dude w the shaved head and long beard was an awesome game master! Hard but not impossible, definitely made us think!

This is the best escapade room in town. I love this place. They put a lot into their business and truly care about their customers. I discussed a scheduling issue due to new policy and the worked with me to make an experience great for me. I love this place and have been to every room. Because of how amazing their puzzles and clues are I am super picky now with escape rooms. Great set and puzzles. I love everything they have to offer. And they give pins/ button when you escape
