My sister and I went here to check this out. Ill mention the staff was nice- a bit too fast on the info the host gave us. However, when we failed to get out, I told the host that the clues didnt really make sense. The host proceeded to say that they actually do, but they didnt as we needed constant guidance for no reason in the room. If the clues dont make any sense, then they dont make sense for the combos either. Dont belittle the customer for a faulty setup. Also, I had to almost stand on my...
head just to open a lock because it was too low to see. It was fun at the beginning, but it quickly became quite frustrating. I was expecting an actual story to start, but it didnt matter because the plot was underwhelming when the info about it is actually found. Theres only the entrance and one room- would have been nice to have multiple rooms since youre in a mansion. I didnt get mansion vibes at all from the room. Figured out a lock combo too early from the clues, and the step before it was redundant. It had to get reset for no reason because I still knew what the combo was. I used the clues in the room to deduct what it was- those clues were simple, but I guess they werent part of the clues to use. Some codes and execution didnt make sense. For example, a clue you get doesnt make any sense where youre supposed to use it, so you end up having to get help anyway. Too many red herrings in the room. Not enough clues that went to the story which were even part of what you needed to get through the room. We ended up failing to get out, and I believe part of it was due to the next to last lock being the wrong one for the room. There was nothing in the room that gave any clues or info to open the specific lock as we had opened everything we could. Ive played escape games that were more engaging than this one, and the puzzles were more difficult but also made sense with the story. I think we might try another location if we do this again. It doesnt bode well that the reviews for this place seem to have been ignored for years.

Had a great time. Ezra was a GREAT game master and was ready to help any time we got stuck! There were a few moments where things didnt quite unlock as they should, but otherwise, it was a good time.

I decided to celebrate my youngest sons 13th birthday as a surprise with his brother, cousins, aunt and grandparents. The entire family enjoyed an hour of working together to solve a puzzle instead of the typical family gathering where the kids go off to play video games and adults stand around and catch up or take the occasional nap. It was 5 out of 8 of ours first time to a venue like this. It was different than what I expected, (neither good nor bad), but super glad we chose to do this as a family. We will definitely return in the future.

My friends and I did the Island Escape. We loved it. None of us had ever tried an escape room adventure, so we had no idea what to expect. Our guide, Kayla, explained what we needed to know and then the countdown started. We had 60 minutes to find and solve all the clues in our room. It was very challenging! There were cameras all around the room so that the guide could watch us and offer an occasional clue when we were completely lost. This was a God-send and extremely helpful. Ultimately, our group did not quite succeed in escaping in time. We were partway through the very last clue when time ran out . That was pretty good for first-timers, we were told. Our group had a ball at Breakout Games and we already have plans to return.

Cant lie, I was concerned about the phrasing in their liability waiver you have to sign, but it was worth it. Lots of fun and challenging, and the DM (?) was helpful without straight up giving us answers when we got stuck

Fun every time we go. Weve done 4 rooms and got out of 2. If you like math, head to the casino.

Dating in Pittsburgh recently had the pleasure of hosting an exhilarating singles event at Breakout Games Pittsburgh. This event was the perfect blend of puzzle-solving with the excitement of making new connections! When we arrived, we were welcomed by their friendly and knowledgeable staff. Their multiple different escape rooms ensured that all participants had a great time! Breakout Games Pittsburgh was able to run all 6 of their escape rooms at the same time for our participants! The intricately...
designed puzzles were both challenging and engaging, requiring teamwork and quick thinking to solve. Throughout the rooms, there were tasks specifically designed to encourage collaboration and conversation between participants. Breakout Games Pittsburgh exceeded all expectations, delivering an unforgettable blend of puzzle-solving, adventure, and social connection! We cant wait to go back!

Our optical group from the doctors office we work at went together as a team building exercise and it was even more fun that we thought! The game was tough and every time we found a new clue it felt like we had won a million bucks! Connor was the best game master EVER! We had a great time. We will definitely have to go back to breakout again!

We did the casino room, and it was so fun. We made it out with 3 minutes to spare, which we consider perfect! We got to spend almost the whole hour there, but still made it out. We will definitely be going back to try more rooms!

For $135, we expected so much more. We ve done escape rooms before and always had a great experience but Breakout Games in Pittsburgh is a huge disappointment. We did Mystery Mansion and it was very low tech with a bunch of combo locks with no real flow to the puzzles. Clues were worn out and beat up. The entire room was extremely cheap and poorly made. However, our game master was very helpful when we needed help mostly because the clues just didn t make sense. Beware that the price is outrageous for what this escape room actually is.

It was super fun and it kept our attention the entire time. Our game master Vivian was a huge help but sadly we didn t make it out. If we just had one more minute we could have gotten out of it! (We were in the Kidnapping 2)

Very fun! The puzzles were challenging and they made you think. Some of the puzzles were a little vague and were not clear of where to go or where the codes went, but when we needed help, our game master, Kai, was right there to help us. Over all I would go again

We escaped our first room (kidnapping) hosted by Zan who was AMAZING! He knew EXACTLY where we were when asking for hints and actually helped. We did a second one (kidnapping 2) because we loved the first which was then hosted by Mia. We asked for hints from her and she responded with well what do you want hints on. She saw us sticking our hands in the holes in the wall and never said anything watching us do so and stated after the room was over that she sees wires hanging out and thought she...
told us not to touch them with an attitude. She was obviously not paying attention to our game at all and when giving hints told us to do things we were already doing. You ll have a great experience if you do a game with Zan but unfortunately can t say the same about Mia.

Ive had a great time here twice so far! Highly recommend! My first time was with friends and we beat the room. I just brought my family for an escape room to celebrate my daughters 9th birthday. The gamemaster was great, we did ask for hints this time since we had three young kids and she provided just enough to keep everyone engaged and moving through the puzzles!

Awesome experience. 4 girls under the age of 15 were able to escape with 2 seconds to spare.

We had so much fun on a team bonding event ! There were six of us tackling the mystery mansion room. We did not escape, but were SO close. I would love to go back and attempt another room!

I booked the Breakout room for my daughter s 10th birthday and picked her and some friends up at school so we could make the 3:45 reservation. Unfortunately, one of her friends accidentally got on the bus to go home. Our gracious gaming host, let us wait a few extra minutes until she arrived. It was as my first Breakout experience, but not the first for the kids. The Hostage room was hard enough for the experienced, but not too difficult that we were discouraged. Our host provided small clues when asked and helped us have a great adventure. The kids were handcuffed to begin; it was priceless. What a fun activity for all ages.

This was an amazing experience. Our game master, Tess, was funny and great at giving different levels of hints when needed. We had a great time. Thanks Breakout

So creative!! We had so much fun trying to break out of Mystery Mansion and we were SO CLOSE!! Only one step away from escaping. Definitely would come back to try another.

Really fun, a few of the puzzles were a little wonky but nothing a little maintenance couldnt fix. The staff was quick to give hints when requested.

In town from Maryland for the weekend for work and my girlfriend and I decided to check out this location since weve done the Maryland locations and had a good time. The experience at the Pittsburgh location was vastly different. Long waits in the waiting room before we were greeted to start each visit. Our first room was Hostage with Mia. When the room got started it took us and her time to realize we wouldnt be able to actually move forward due to how we had originally been placed at the start...
. Later on there was a clue we werent able to read. Afterwards it seemed as though not being able to read the clue was a known issue that they just hadnt fixed. We were able to escape that room despite this. Our second experience was Operation Casino with Chris. The room wasnt the expected quality for the money paid (roughly $120) and for at least one of the puzzles the hint we were given led us to looking in the completely wrong place to find our next puzzle piece. During both experiences it seems as though the game masters either couldnt see us or werent actively watching oir game. All in all an underwhelming experience from what weve come to expect from Breakout.

We had fun in mystery mansion. Ezera was a big help with the clues. Thanks for great mothers day. Planning to do more rooms in the future.

Today we celebrated my granddaughters 13th birthday exploring the secrets of the Mystery Mansion room. The clues were though, but we made it through. Our host Noel, provided just the right amount of help. The kids had a great time and we look forward to exploring other rooms in the future.

Our group enjoyed our Island escape. Kids & adults had a blast! Dave was a great helper when we needed clues.

The mansion was a blast (and a little creepy). Definitely the hardest of the rooms we have been in here. Kai (sp?) was phenomenal as our game master! She tolerated my panic and cursing. Can t wait to come back again, maybe I ll finally try the kidnapping.

Our game master, Elliot, was a great help! We managed to solve all the puzzles but we were 5 minutes over. As our first experience it was great and wed love to do it again!
