This was the BEST DAY EVER. we ended up doing three escape rooms today and they were all SO good. We did Lust and Lace, Ultimate Heist and Dr. Frankenstein. All 3 game masters that weve done are so fun to play with. They knew how competitive we were and knew how to give us clues only that mad sense to our nature. The effects were so much better than others weve played in all different cities. Everyone made it such a great day. Thank you!!!
We loved it. Visited it with friends before New Year s Eve. The stuff was very nice and helpful. The escape room (we did sleeping spirits ) was fun and scary at some point. Would go back to explore more rooms and would recommend it to visit.
We booked an evening session for 3 for the Game of Stones roomand were very happy with the experience. The person gave very clear instructions, especially around the challenge level, and we decided to take advantage of the hint system a few times, but still felt proud when we managed to solve the final puzzle. I would definitely recommend it for those both experienced at escape rooms as well as those looking for an alternative to traditional outings.
What can I say. I HAD A BLAST ! The staff was awesome. The room we picked was crazy I didnt get out bcuz of my kids. I want to thank you guys for being understanding about us running late.
My wife and I have taken out daughter on countless escape rooms in the country. We took on chamber of horrors. The room was huge, well spaced out, and did not feel cramped. The puzzles were logical and all tied to the theme quite well vs. rooms that just put locks in places to fill time. The detailed work of the room was very appreciated. Loved the audio effects by the way. This is not a kit escape room. The rooms clearly is a labor of love. We had minor glitches, but the game master was quick to proactively resolve any issues.
Had a great time and a great host!
I love escape rooms, so when I came to Philly for a conference, I had to try Gotham Escape Room! I did Game of Stones with a group of 6 people on a Saturday ($35/person). I will also shoutout the front desk staff for their flexibility because I was coordinating a few groups of people for the conference, and they were patient and understanding. Though people in my group were Game of Thrones fans, you do not need background knowledge to complete the room. Two things that stand out about the room...
: 1) you have to put your phones and watches in a locked chest 2) there is no clue board/time clock in the room. I have been to one other room like this, and Im not the biggest fan of not being able to monitor time. There are also unlimited clues. We tried to use one, but either we were on the right track or our clue master did not hear us, so we solved the room without any hints! I appreciated that the puzzles were diverse and made logical sense. It was clear what clues unlocked what puzzles, and it was the appropriate level of challenge. I was impressed at how the room was put together and thoroughly enjoyed! As other people have mentioned, one con about this room is that it is dark, and you cannot use your phones. I think that adds an annoying challenge rather than a fun challenge, especially if you cannot unlock more light. The only other critique I have is that you do not need a lot of people to solve this room because it is pretty linear, but the price is so expensive! I still want to check out their other rooms the next time we return, but will aim to do it on a weekday when it is cheaper.
Great escape room, we played the chamber of horrors and the puzzles and props were very well done. Will definitely come back to do the others and probably do two back to back.
Great escape room, did the lust & lace room which was very unique. They had walkie talkies to communicate with the game master and you could request unlimited clues which was helpful. Only wish there was a countdown timer in the room so you know how much time to spend on puzzles before asking for a clue. Would go back next time Im in philly.
It was a fun puzzle, we did the mafia themed one (though they had 5 others to pick from) and for the most part it went smoothly. There was a slight malfunction with a video not playing but they fixed that and we finished off the last section. As they had that issue they gave us a discount too. They offer unlimited clues so if you feel like that is something youd like then its an option.
Excellent experience, plenty scary if thats what your looking for and the puzzles are not impossible. I would recommend doing them with a group of more than 2. I booked it with me and my girlfriend and the space was large. We got about half way thru before being eliminated although it is possible to best it with 2 people you guys would have to be legit detectives to get thru it with just 2. If your booking it thinking you will be with another group of people you wont.
Great escape room! We did the adult-themed room. We didn t make it out, but we were so close. They even gave us helpful hints, but we couldn t get it. Great setup, great staff. We had so much fun! Definitely will go again!
My friends and I came here as an activity for my birthday. Being escape room enthusiasts, we ended up playing Lust and Lace, Dr. Frankenstein, and Ultimate Heist. Our game masters were all great and we managed to escape all 3 of them. It was such a great time. Definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for an activity to do!
5/5 for gameplay but 2/5 for staff. Game was great, large room, and cool puzzles! Loved that aspect of this escape room place! The staff member who helped us was not friendly and was really a bummer to the experience. They were a bit snarky when questions were asked and they were completely unenthusiastic when describing the game and rules. Part of the experience of an escape room is to get into the role and having staff that couldn t care less about coming off as being enthusiastic or not definitely ruined a nice part of the experience.
Lovely experience! The staff member who helped us was an absolute sweetheart and gave me and my party 110%. She went above and beyond to take care of us and we couldnt be happier with how we were treated at Gotham Escape Room. My only complaint is that we couldnt take her home with us! Thank you!
By far the worst piss poor attitude I ve ever encountered at an escape room. Ms. Camille was Upset that we cut the wrong lock. We apologized as someone in our group misheard her about the lock. We were unable to complete the room but the attitude was beyond unwelcoming. I referred to her as HE unknowingly that she was trans. No disrespect intended but again, the nasty attitude was completely unnecessary. Although we re just visiting Philadelphia, I would strongly NOT suggest this escape room. Not because of the rooms, (they were challenging but fun), but because the customer service was pitiful.
Horrible game master experience. Actual escape room was fun. The that human was rude and had an attitude at the end. Was misleading with the game info as we were told 1 key = 1 lock. Turns out that keys were interchangeable for the locks which wasted time.
The most amazing, immersive, and fun escape room experiences I ve ever had. Was so impressed with the first room that we paid to do another on the spot. Love that you can do rooms with even just 2 people. Staff was incredibly friendly and fun/funny. I will definitely be back and I ll be bringing friends.
One of the locks wouldnt work. We got the puzzle correct immediately but our final 15 minutes on this puzzle that we were set up to fail. I put in the correct code about 10 times and even at the end, the code master couldnt even open the lock correctly. I tried pointing this out to her, but she refused to take any responsibility.
We played lust and lace. We were not made aware of what the room actually was until after we went in. It has depictions of explicit content, forced interaction with large amounts of intimacy toys, and performing suggestive actions WHILE BEING WATCHED ON CAMERA. It was a disturbing room to do and we would not have done it if we knew. There was no more warning than it being labeled as best for adult party. It was not obvious that adult party meant explicit content rather than a party of adults.
We had an excellent experience here! We did the Ultimate Heist which was so fun (a total of three rooms to gain access to). This was the first escape room experience for most in our group, and all 8 of us were ready to do another! It was both challenging and rewarding, and we laughed A LOT! The gentleman who worked there was excellent. He was extremely friendly and funny, and absolutely added to the positive experience! We highly recommend it!
My husband and I went through the Chamber of Horrors room, and WOW!! What an amazing production this company puts on!! The entire experience was fantastic! The employees were great and the room / mystery was far beyond what we we were anticipating! We cant wait to come back and enjoy another room!
My husband and kids had the best time and the person that works there was very professional. You can really tell that he loves his job So much so that you couldn t help but Love it as well. My son is special-needs and it s very hard for him to feel comfortable in new places. The gentleman made him feel great to be there didn t treat him any different then anyone else They will definitely be going again this year
My first ever escape room experience and just an absolute blast. The representative working on the night my team went was FANTASTIC. Funny, friend, engaging - he truly made help create the ambience and added to our fun. I didnt realize escape rooms could incorporate more than one room (they should all be this way), and the added spaces made it truly thrilling. Will definitely go back to try other rooms when Im in the Philly area!
Officially one of my new favorite escape rooms. Our group came for a bachelorette party (Frankenstein), and we absolutely intend to come back to try more rooms. Mike was super nice. The room was so immersive. We received nudges when we were really close, and our clues were helpful too. Thanks for such a fun experience!
