Really fun experience! I have to say it says 13 and up, but for my 14 daughters it was REALLY difficult. I am sure not all of the rooms are the same but for us it was extremely challenging. Also, the statement was that if you didnt make it out, you didnt graduate your space test. Kind of lame compared to the other escape room they just went to for a friends birthday. It was scary and more teen friendly I guess. You were in a scary house and had to get out otherwise you would stay there...
forever and die. A little bit more exciting than being in a space theme room that was just mostly confusing. Also all of thr riddles/clues were in no specific order in this escape room, making it extremely confusing and stressful because everyone is working on seperate things and no one knows what to work on next. They didnt start solving the clues until almost 30 minutes in, and did not make it out of the escape room. Prices were really great however, and the staff was amazing! Our gamemaster gave some good hints which we needed and were fun to be around! Overall, probable more of an adult escape room though.

Our group had a great time. We did the Star Crash Academy room and it was tons of fun. We finished with around 4 minutes to spare. Staff are friendly and fun. This was my first escape room experience and I had a blast.

We will be back for more! One of the best places we have been for an escape room. We did the speakeasy and had a blast. The staff is super friendly and makes it easy to get into it. Nice big waiting area while your group gets there. Test locks in the lobby to test and learn with.

We played the new one, Lenores Lost Library. With 7 people, we made it out with just over 2 minutes to spare. Great time for my wifes birthday party!

I had a wonderful time in the Speakeasy room! We were a group of two, with one of us being new to escape rooms. It was a great challenge with unique puzzles, simple decor to keep you focused on the puzzles, and multiple linear puzzle tracks so it was easy to know what lead to what typically. Our moderator Missy was very sweet and gave quick hints to keep us rolling. Good room for those looking a room focused on the puzzles and less story. If primarily newbies, Id recommend a larger group but if all players are experienced you could absolutely be on the smaller size. Cant wait to come back again! (Also there is a company small dog who is super cute and gentle!

We have done 3 escape rooms at Stumptown now and loved each one! They are so different and so detailed, and we especially love how immersive they are. Definitely going to try out the rest!

Pretty fun! This was my first escape room experience. I liked it, and I helped my team get through a few puzzles successfully. Would go again.

This was an amazing family experience! We all had such a fun time with our escape room (the Mayan Tomb). It was extremely engaging and the puzzles were a blast to solve. A lot of time and care was put into the planning of these rooms and it totally shows. The staff were absolutely amazing (shout out to the gamemaster who gave us great hints!) The prices were reasonable as well at $35 per person for an hour of really fun entertainment. We will be back for sure!

We did the Oregon Files room and escaped. A very good experience and the place looked great too. Really loved the writing walls where you get to scribble once you escape the room.

Thus was my first time doing an escape room. And I had a blast. Love the story and the Game Master. The escape room was well maintained. I will be back to try another one.

We had so much fun! We ended up doing 4 escape rooms in 4 days for the T-shirt challenge. All the rooms were a LOT of fun and very well made. Parker was our game master for two of them and she was awesome! They were out of the shirts when we won our 4th room, but said they would ship them to us, so no biggie. I would definitely recommend this company and their rooms. Very very fun time!

We had a great time. We did the Speakeasy room. Our game master was awesome. The clues mostly made sense. We only needed a couple of hints. One was just because we didnt realize a cubby had opened up. Will definitely be back to do more rooms.

Another fun escape room at Stumptown! We had done Starcrash Academy here for my first ever escape room and got hooked. We did the Speakeasy one this time and solved it with 55 seconds to spare. Reagan was a great game master and gave useful hints without giving too much away. Will return here for sure.

This was our 2nd Room at Stumptown. First time we tried, and also failed, Tanasbourne Pirates. This time we tried Starcrash and it was very challenging! We had 7 of us and did not make it out. Despite that we had a blast :) Our host Missy was amazing and helped make our experience fun. These rooms are very well thought out and challenging. Here is hoping 3rd times a charm.

Multiple puzzles and things were broken throughout the escape room. The game master had to open several things midgame so that the escape room could continue. Absolutely not worth the time or money, and a very frustrating experience. The 2 stars are just because the staff were great and rolled with what they could.

My friends and I had so much fun with Lenores Lost Library. We could feel the pressure building towards the end, but we made it out with 1:37 left! We cant wait to come back and try another one!

This was a first Escape Room experience as a family. Our Game Master, Jessica, was helpful at the perfect time. We liked the rooms ambience and because it was The Oregon Files much of the content, map and names/places were familiar. We made it through with a minute and a half left. Enjoyable activity!

We had such a fun experience and we were so excited when we solved the final puzzle and opened the door with only 1 min and 42 seconds left. Three generations and an auntie solved this one and was definitely an Indiana Jones vibe which was awesome!! My nickname is Mindiana Jones and this totally fit my style. My 14 year old daughter is still talking about this experience, she did really well with anything that was a lock and key. She worked well with my mom too. My aunt and I teamed up and we solved some stuff on our own. So much fun.

Great fun for us newbies - two 12-year-olds, two adults. Izzie was wonderful - gave hints just when we needed them but still kept it challenging. We didnt quite escape, but we came very close...

I dont even like escape rooms, but I booked this for my partners birthday because he loves them, and it ended up being so much fun! We played The Oregon Files, and it was so great! It had many layers, surprises and was just the right amount of challenge; hard, but not impossible! The staff was great and wonderful to interact with during the game, they were supportive, encouraging and funny! Great time all around, and looking forward to going back soon!

Maya, Matty, and the lovely ladies there gave us and our kiddos quite the time! Kids were ecstatic they finally got to try an escape room and Stumptown Escape Games came thru and gave them the experience. They cant wait to go back! Thank you guys for the night cap!

This is my favorite of the escape rooms in the Portland area. The games are fun, immersive, difficult but not punishing. Stumptown uses a monitor to allow you to communicate with the Game Master and I think it works super well; it allows you to stay in the experience but still interact when needed. You should definitely give these rooms a try!

The place was in a decent location, clean and inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive. But the room itself was spectacular. It was the right amount of challenge for our group.

Amended Post: The owner has contacted me, and we have resolved this issue. As escape rooms are not inexpensive, I would always still caution people prior to booking, and make sure you know the refund/rescheduling policy. The rooms really are fantastic, and the game masters are always wonderful. So this is one of our favorites in the Portland area. Original Post: Caution When Booking My initial experience with this company was VERY good. The rooms are great. My most recent experience with this company...
has been very negative. I had booked their new room- Alchemists Revenge, paid online, received my confirmation code. The day before our escape room, I received an email saying THEY needed to cancel our booking. When I asked why, they told me it was due to the room not being complete because of low staffing issues. Not a problem, I told them, I just asked for a refund so I could work with the group that I was going with, and find a time to rebook later. After several emails, and them trying to book me into another room (and me explaining that I have done all the other rooms), they have proceeded to ghost me. I have tried emailing multiple times, I have called multiple times, my husband has called multiple times. Matt, the owner is completely non responsive, and hes holding onto $150 of my money for an escape room we havent been able to play. Looking online, it says that if you have up to 2 times to reschedule your game without fee, and we havent even heard from them about rescheduling once. I would proceed with caution when booking with them. Since we couldnt control that they cancelled on us, and are ghosting us now.

In early October 2022, I had a pretty large group of friends come to visit me in Oregon. We are an online group of friends who have known each other for a range of years, so getting together is always special. Something we have found we like to do together are escape rooms. After looking around, we landed on Stumptown. Needless to say it was one of the highlights of the trip, and we even came back to finish the remaining rooms. The staff is incredibly friendly, even going so far as to remember us...
when we came by later on during the trip. It was also apparent to us that the staff really like their jobs--they introduced the puzzles in fun ways and were personable and funny through the entire time we were in their care. The puzzles are fun, intuitive, and themed well. The scale of difficulty ranges a little bit, but our team was able to solve all of them within the time limits. We truly had a blast finding a hidden gem in Tigard, and I definitely recommend this spot for folks who are looking for something fun to do with friends. When they come to visit me again, I know that we will plan on coming back. Wishing the team here success, and thank you all for such a fun time!

Stumptown Escape Games has rooms with incredible atmosphere but more importantly, challenging and creative puzzles. Stumptowns puzzles are thrilling and rewarding to solve, which is even more appreciated as many escape room companies in the area are trending towards easier rooms. A heartfelt thanks to Stumptown for providing such a quality, satisfying escape room experience! I especially enjoyed the Tomb of the Mayan Gods and The Alchemists Revenge.
