This was a fun and well themed room. Our host, James was friendly and a great character in our journey to escape. The location is a little tricky to find but they had signs out to help you get there. We escaped but can you?....

My first escape room and this didnt disappoint. It was just my wife and I, so we picked one of the smallest (suggested number of players) that I can find. I booked during late Sunday afternoon for a Monday 10am session, and it went as smooth as it can get. Our host James did a fantastic job, totally in character from the moment he opened the door, and always showed enthusiasm through out the experience. Most of the clues require some thinking and wasnt particularly hard, but we would have been...
stuck if we didnt holla at James a couple times for help. We finished with three minutes to spare, I believe this is a good escape room for smaller group that isnt super experienced. For anyone that is more cautious around Covid stuff like us, our host had his mask on properly the entire time. Thank you for an awesome experience James!

This was our first time trying anything like this. The puzzles were challenging but fun to solve. The host, James, gave us just the right amount of interaction, as we didnt ask for hints. Just when we thought we were done and solved everything, we werent. The scramble to get it done within the time limit was real but we did it with 3 minutes and 40 seconds to spare. We plan on trying out the other rooms, as well. Thanks for a fun hour!

We had a great time at Jungle Ransom and we fully intend to come back for more Escapism rooms. It centered on a series of fairly linear lock-and-key style puzzles, which were not too complicated, but not too easy either. Our host, Mythius, clearly loves his job and did a great job of making us feel welcome but also immersed. This would make a great first escape room experience, but it was our tenth and we loved it too.

This was our second escape room and our first victory! James was an immersive game master and made the experience more enjoyable. Puzzles were difficult and he did a great job with hints that werent too helpful but ponted us in the right direction. One criticism is a lot of this escape happens in one room. So it feels like there isnt a lot of progression. We might just be a fan of more linear escape rooms. Its a lot of fun when you have to get from one room to another. But it was a great experience regardless. Thanks James!

My 2 girls (7 and 11 yrs) and I visited the Jungle Ransom room this week and had a great time! Although this was a one room adventure, we filled the entire hour (and maybe a few minutes more), with searching and scrambling to find clues and unlock all the boxes. We had a great time with all the different puzzles including lasers, weighted dice and an old fashion telephone which my youngest didnt know how to hold to her ear! great time! it is a special occasion event for us due to the high cost, but weve been talking about it all week. James was a great helper/host and we asked him many times for clues.

I confirmed through a phone call today that the Jungle Ransom room has unfortunately been closed permanently. Escapisms website no longer has a listing for it however I couldnt find any official statement online to clarify if it had been closed temporarily or permanently, thus the phone call. Just thought Id leave this update here in case anyone was looking to book it.

My daughter (9) and I had so much fun in Jungle Ransom. James was a great host who played the character well and who offered hints when we needed them but we were proud to solve this one with time to spare. We are fairly new to escape rooms but this one offered the right amount of challenge for a small group and fun and not too scary for families.

Lots of fun, and our host, James, made the experience super engaging. Some of the puzzles were a bit of a challenge, but after we asked for help, the solution seemed clear and not impossible if we had just spent a little more time on it. We are definitely looking forward to our next Escape Room adventure!

We did the Jungle Ransom Escape Room a few years ago, and it was one of the better ones weve done! Great set design, super clever and creative clues/riddles, and awesome staff. Sadly, we just learned a fire consumed the building that housed this room. Fortunately no one was hurt as it happened during the night. But so sad to hear that this amazing room (as well as a brand new room they had been designing for the past couple of years, along with props theyd been collecting) are all completely destroyed. We live out of state, but if we ever make it back to Portland, well be sure to do another room with Escapism Portland. Best of luck to you guys on the rebuild, and looking forward to your awesome comeback!

We had a fantastic time! This room was full of exciting puzzles and challenges that were fresh and new. James the host was very friendly and helped create a memorable experience. Escapism hands down makes the best escape rooms in Portland.

My person and I had never done an escape room and we did this for a date night and it was so fun!! The puzzles were challenging but not too difficult and the host, James, was so fun and helpful and really made it so much more immersive. Definitely recommend, and we ll definitely be doing the other escape rooms that Escapism offers

First real in-person Escape Room. Did it with my partner and we finished just under the wire with 2 minutes left! James was helpful and friendly. When we first entered the room one of the puzzles was open from the last group. James noticed and quickly fixed it for us. It didnt impact our play. The room is a little bit low-budget feeling, but the puzzles were the right level of difficulty that some of them we had to really think for a bit, but not so hard that it was frustrating. Had a lot of fun and my reluctant partner is now a convert and wants to try more rooms, so that says a lot right there I think!

We got a gift certificate for our family of four to do an Escapism room and chose Jungle Ransom because of its moderate difficulty rating. The host, James, had it ready and was in character from the start. He was friendly and welcoming and we were in the room in less than five minutes. The room was challenging and we needed a couple helpful hints from James along the way but managed to successfully complete it in the one hour because of those hints. We ve only done one other escape room as a family so we don t have much to compare to but we had fun figuring out the clues!

My group had a fantastic time at Escapism Jungle Ransom. I had a group of 4 people, which was a great size. The room holds up to 6 people- I think the more minds the better, but it also would have been pretty crowded as it is a small room. The host was fantastic and in character from the beginning. One thing I liked about this company, is that they gave you unlimited hints, so you didnt have to feel like you were wasting one. The host was very kind throughout the whole mission. Its also...
nice to do a room with just the people in your party, which is different from other escape rooms that Ive done around town. I thought the puzzles were clever- I like a mix of physical puzzles and word/number game puzzles. I was surprised to hear that most escape rooms only have a max of 50% success rate, so dont let lower success rates scare you into thinking they are so hard you wont make it out. This one was moderately challenging. I only have two things that could be improved upon: it was quite hot in there, which I get with the whole jungle theme, but I think a fan or some level of AC would have been nice, especially during the summer. Im also not so sure the second set of puzzles was needed- I think it would have felt nice to just have it end with the jungle room and feel successful there. With the amount of time we had left, we were never going to be able to finish the additional puzzles. I think you could put a few of those puzzles into the main jungle room, or just forgo them completely. All in all it was an excellent experience, and we will definitely be back to try another room! Thanks again!

Weve done several escape rooms at other places, but this one was one of our favorites! It was a well planned room, with a good variety of things to find and puzzles to solve. For veteran players, it might be a little easy, but still a super fun room that leaves you feeling confident and smart! It would be an ideal room for first timers. Our host, James, was friendly and helpful and made the experience that much more fun! Well be back to try another room for sure!

For a Fathers Day present we took the family to their first escape room and we had a blast. The Jungle room was family friendly and provided a great respite for a hot day. James was an exceptional host; helpful, funny, and provided clear directions. We cant wait for our next room, it made us all fans.

Had a great time! My friend and I didnt really know what to expect, but our host James was super friendly and helpful. A few of the puzzles we had to ask for a point in the right direction, but nothing game breaking. James energy was infectious, and I would absolutely go again.

A fun room, my girlfriend and I escaped with 50 seconds to spare! It was just us two - we had only done one other escape room before and didn t beat it. A very good experience. Price isn t cheap ($30 a person), but competitive with other PDX area escape rooms. Big compliment: the puzzles were approachable to start figuring out - as in you don t need to know any weird cultural references or familiarization with Morse code. Some escape rooms seem to assume their average players know these things. This one didn t. The one-man staff was good at his job. He helped a lot with solid instructions, direction and hints. I would recommend this one, especially to beginners.

First time doing an escape room, with a group of 3 - it was phenomenal! James is an awesome host. I was expecting it to be fun - but it was even better than we could have imagined. Very thoughtful and well-planned escape room - very detailed! Super fun, fantastic group activity. We look forward to doing another escape room with James!

Absolutely enjoyed our date night here. James was great! He was in character as soon as he opened the front door to let us in and he had the best kind of humor. The puzzles were great and some of them surprised us. So many laughs! Loved it!

This was my fourth time doing an Escapism room and it was awesome! Maybe my favorite so far. My boyfriend and I did Jungle Ransom, just the two of us. I thought it might be too difficult with only two but we finished with 30 seconds to spare! James was a great host and gave us helpful tips that didn t give away too much. It was a super fun thing to do on a rainy Saturday!

Another amazing experience at Escapism! We did the Jungle Ransom room which had so many good puzzles/clues and the gamemaster, James, was so friendly and interactive! James was great at getting us all excited, helping point us in the right direction, and overall making the experience really fun! We will definitely be coming back again!

Second Escapism room Ive done and it did not disappoint. The room is small with 5 people in it but plenty to work on. James was a wonderful host once again. Cant wait to do the next room!

Four of us went to Jungle Ransom over the weekend. This was our first escape room and we all found it to be more fun than expected! Pulling up to the nondescript office building seemed like the first piece of a mystery. Were we about to enter a horror movie? Our host, James, explained what to do and what to expect, and was overall organized and cheery. He radioed in a couple of times to let us know we were on or off the track. We didnt want to go to one that seemed scary, and this was just mystery...
, not creepy stuff. For those who are new, there were many types of puzzles to solve to get codes to unlock boxes, which led to more clues and puzzles. For us newbies, this was the right amount of challenge, and we were able to escape in the allotted time. Four minds seemed like the correct amount to figure things out. It was fun and well definitely be trying out the other Escapism rooms around town!

We had so much fun doing this room! The puzzles were challenging and perfect for our group of 3. I probably wouldn t recommend more than 4 people, the room is on the small side, although the 3 of us were plenty comfortable. I also loved that we had the room to ourselves and did not have to worry about trying to work with people we didn t know. I think it would be cool to have the bonus room a little more integrated into the theme, the first room was completely decked out and we definitely weren...
t expecting a 2nd one- the decor was so drastically different, and understandably so (sounds like they only set up the 2nd room sometimes), but maybe some changes can be made in the future :) with that said, it was a great experience and we can t wait for more! James was an incredible host, helpful when we needed it and obviously loves his job, it made it so much better to see that he was having a good time, too! I can t wait to recommend Escapism to my friends and come back for another room!

So much fun! The room was so well done, totally immersive. The puzzles were interesting and very challenging but not overwhelming, and our host Mythius was energetic and authentic and really got us pumped to start the room. We brought our 14 year old daughter and 9 year old son, and we were able to work together to solve the room, there were puzzles for everyone to solve! We made it out of the room with literally seconds to spare, it was intense. We will definitely be going to another Escapism room!

Our host was amazing he had ran another room of mine before and I was truly delighted to see him. There was a great surprise at one point in the room that none of us were really expecting. It was a bit easy as most of us had done a room and we had the max people, but all of us still enjoyed it. I felt the decor was a bit better in this room than in others of theirs so I was happy to see that. I have done all but 2 of their rooms, they are a great company overall.

The host was great, helpful when we needed it but not overly helpful to make it too easy. Just myself and my 7 year old son played. Neither of us had done an escape room before. We definitely needed to ask for hints a few times but we both found it super fun and would do it again.

We really enjoyed the Jungle Ransom game! Even though it s not the biggest and the most advanced room we ve ever played, it utilized the space and the props creatively, leaving enough dead end hints to keep you guessing and searching in the wrong direction. It utilizes mostly conventional locks and keys puzzles, but they are mixed with interesting and unexpected plot twists, which will get your heart rate up. The host Mythius was amazing, animated and immersive, he created an exciting atmosphere from the moment we set foot into the building. We had so much fun playing, and will definitely explore other rooms this company has to offer.
