NC Escape Durham

Pros Very well run and designed. Have done a few escape rooms, and I like how this was setup. Did The Attic, with my 11yo, and we both agreed it was equal parts challenging, scary and fun. I think the challenges were possibly not difficult enough for a room full of adults, so this may be better supported for families, but it was definitely still well designed. Cons We arrived at 1215 for like 1230pm reservation, and were not greeted until almost 1230. Im guessing its because we were there at lunch time, but it was odd that there was nobody at the front desk for that period of time. Thats possibly my only customer service observation. Also, you apparently cant fill out a waiver for another day other than the one youre playing on. We dropped on to make a reservation and had to wait till day of to complete the waiver. Do make a reservation. Have found that these escape rooms tend to book out, and generally only staff the times that reservations are made, so walk in is more challenging to find

Great team building fun! Rooms were tricky but doable with minimal hints needed. Staff was very accommodating for a group of 10. We did a head to head challenge with 5 ppl per team to see who could escape quicker. Thank you for a great experience.

Really loved the attic!! The mechanisms and puzzles were clever and up to my (picky) standards. Was nervous about the jump scares but they really added to the experience!

My partner and I decided to do an escape room for our date night and I am so thankful we found NC Escape! This was our first time playing an escape room and we found it to be such an amazing experience. We played the Attic and it was the perfect combination of fun, suspense, and critical thinking. The staff at the location was awesome and we feel so thankful for our game leader. She was SO helpful and did a wonderful job bringing the Attic to life. We had such a wonderful evening that we will certainly remember. Thank you so much.

Super fun experience with Emily as our game master! We completed the Attic and retrieved Claires toys for her before time was up. The jump scares were well placed and the puzzles were fun to solve. Thank you for a great date night!!!

We enjoyed our experience at NC Escape at the Attic room and escaped with 16 minutes to spare! We had never experienced the jump scares before, they were cool! It was our first time ever making a leader board at an escape room and we didnt ask for any hints! We struggled figuring out the start but once we had that we got on a roll. It was a great theme and interesting puzzles! We will definitely come back for the other rooms. Thank you Megan for the great experience! She did an excellent job and was super friendly!

Awesome! Ive done about 5 escape rooms, and this was among the best. Did the Brewery Heist with a large group with an age range of 8-75, and it was really great. The room was really well done - great attention to detail, and very cool atmosphere. Everyone contributed, and the puzzles were challenging! Highly recommended.

My group won tickets to check out the newest room, Brewery Heist, and we were not disappointed. The newest room is the brainchild of the the new owners and you can really see they are passionate about room design. The room was well thought out with a good combination of puzzle types to keep you engaged the whole time. The clue delivery system was unique, to my group at least. After beating the room and setting a new record we spent about a half hour talking with the owners, who were super cool. We look forward to new rooms coming to this location.

We had the best time escaping the attic. The jump scare parts were the best. I cant wait to come back and try the other rooms.

My husband took me for my birthday, along with our two teenage girls and a friend. We had such a great time, almost unexpectedly. We knew it would be enjoyable but we didnt know how involved we would all be. We had to work together (along with a few clues from Emi) but solved the case and escaped the room. It made for great birthday memories.

Super fun escape room! Our first time doing a scary escape room and it definitely lived up to the hype we were expecting. Our guide for the room was great too - she gave great hints that werent easy but still challenging enough to get us through. I always hate then the hint is a puzzle in itself so this was great. And still not an easy room to escape - it was still challenging enough.

Decided to go to an escape room for date night and decided to do the attic, had only done one other one before (and it consisted of multiple rooms) so i did not know what to expect with this one, however it was actually great we really enjoyed it. I liked how they gave us an ipad that would send off hints if we got stuck and it was throughout that I realized just how much thought they had put into every inch of the room. It actually took us the entire hour to find our way out but i really enjoyed it and look forward to trying out their other rooms.

Had an awesome time for my first Escape Room experience! Everything, from the main lobby to the bathroom to the actual puzzle room was extremely clean and well taken care of. The employees were extremely friendly and Teri was an awesome room host. The location was situated nicely in downtown Durham, but probably easy to miss if youre not familiar with the area. There were only two of us playing, but they had a room ready to go that was designed for two to five people to solve. They have a few options to choose from and another room on the way! Ill definitely try to fit this back into my itinerary on my next visit to Durham!

Whitney was great. The Alien escape room was super challenging and engaging. Had a blast. Great service, attentive game master, and definitely has challenged me to do more puzzles or something to sharpen my mind. Holy cow. Lol

We did The Attic with 5 people. The game was difficult to get started-but then once we got going, iit had a great progression! We had a blast! We escaped with several hints from our excellent game master, MEGAN! Ty!! We will be back for more!

We had a large group come to NC Escape and Lanes & Alicia were very kind and patient with us! And the game was so fun!! We thought it was not easy, but not impossible - it was perfect!

My friends and I had a great time!! Very fun and we would come back to do it again. Megan was very nice about it all and explained the instructions really well!!

My friends and I did the alien escape room last weekend, I m not sure if we are really dumb or if the game is just really hard we did not escape but we still had fun! I feel like I need to do some more puzzles at home to sharpen my mind and then try again. I d definitely recommend NC Escape and plan on returning soon. My only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because as a first timer the escape room was pretty confusing, once we got several hints we started progressing but at the beginning we were just standing around like wait, what do we do?

Ive had the pleasure of experiencing the thrill of NC Escape not just once, but twice, and I honestly cant wait to go back and try out their other rooms! I can tell that the game masters and staff put a lot of effort into crafting an immersive environment with a good amount of puzzles. Both of my visits to NC Escape were absolutely amazing. This place is a top-notch escape room and I cant recommend it enough. If youre a fan of escape rooms or just looking for a fun activity to do with friends, check this place out!!!

My wife took me for the attic (2 player)for my birthday. It was the right level of difficulty for our first escape room and so much fun. We are making plans to go again soon. Highly recommended for groups with all skill levels. Update: still a 5 star. My wife and I took her sister for Kidnapped and it was awesome!!

My two teenage nieces were in town, and my wife and I thought this would be the perfect way to spend an hour on a Saturday afternoon since the temperature outside was approaching 100 degrees. We all had a blast with The Attic ! It s very creative and surprising. Our game master was fantastic too!

It was my first time in an escape room in many years and it did not disappoint. We played the attic room and had so much fun. Emily was so nice and kept us on track as we progressed through the room. Can t wait to come back and try out the other rooms!

My group of 4 did the study!!! All of us have participated in one escape room in the past so we had a good understanding of what to expect. A lot of the puzzles were really creative, making it even more fun. We will definitely be back! The staff was great, as well. We ended up being about 10 minutes late to our scheduled time due to trying to find parking on a busy Friday night in downtown, but they were super accommodating and understanding!

My friends and I played Attic a few weeks ago and it was so much fun! They had never played before so the difficulty level was perfect for us! Lots of cool and spooky puzzles (with a few jump scares)! Emily was our game master and she was amazing! She helped us when we needed and never gave away too much so we were still responsible for solving the puzzles. Overall a great experience, would give it a 6/5 if possible!

Fantastic rooms! We have played two of the smaller rooms (with four people), and both were fantastic! The puzzles in each room are difficult enough to require some thought, but not too difficult to be impossible...plus the host is available for any tips, if necessary! We also enjoy the fact that all rooms are private bookings, so we are only playing the game with people we know. We will definitely be back to try another room!!
