The Box Escape Room Charlotte

My friends and I hit up escape rooms for fun. We ve been to almost every place in the area. We agreed that this place is good, they re just not a technological as other places. We did The Cold Case Killer. It was 4/5 difficulty. We all agreed that it wasn t that difficult. It was still a fun game just wasn t difficult at all. We ve done games that had around 30 different mini games needed to complete the whole game which makes them team efforts where as this room was something that someone could have completed alone. Very nice experience. I would recommend this place to beginners.

Me and my husband choose one place a month to go check out and this place stunk. I was skeptical when we pulled in but after opening the door I was like okay this is gonna be good .. oh boy was I wrong and should have stuck with my gut. Multiple things went wrong , the first was as soon as we went in to the first part the guy told us how to get into the room without us asking for help and since the first room was a part of the second we should have been left alone to gather clues so that ruined...
Read full review that part second was eye balls umm we seen them we tried to get them out for over 10min seconds they can check their cameras but nooooooo it was stuck my husband literally had to blow with his mouth bc their little machine didnt work And since We paid for a timed event and that took so long It made me very mad and then a key was not in the right place it was actually on the freaking floor so all the hats and everything else given to get that specific key didnt help and made us lose time as well because it wasnt where it was supposed to be which was problematic and made me upset again which took up time I paid for both of us to be in there and it was definitely not worth it stating things did not go right on their end They didnt even offer a partial refund or anything and I told them what had happened he said oh we will look into it maybe well have to buy another one like a completely ruined the moment. I drove over an hour for this and an hour back just to have a sucky hour there the only good thing was he took pics for us but I guess he did not look at the pic taken bc my husband was not even looking at the camera so beware dont go dont waist your time or money I have kids and could have did something better with my time and money

I do lots of escape rooms around, so visiting my sister I knew I had to put it on our list! We visited it in the evening and played the Ventriloquist. The Game Master was very frightening, in a friendly way! While the room itself was not extremely scary, they did an awesome job of setting the tone and getting us to scare ourselves. We almost beat the record, so well have to be back to try again! I would definitely recommend The Box if youre looking for a team building activity!

I thought this place was fantastic. The place was clean and properly setup for the challenge. I really liked how the hints (we only asked for two) were slid under the door of the room you were in. It was nice because you could read it several times to get the hint instead of someone just talking through a speaker. I cant wait for December when they open The Witches Cabin. Its literally age limited to 15 for the scary theming. Support local and support this place.

Absolutely loved the experience at this place. The acting from the staff wasnt too over the top as it can be at other places. The twist in the story of the room we played was unique and appreciated. The styling of the rooms is really immersive, and there were some cool puzzles that I hadnt seen in over 20+ escape rooms. The only critique I have is that more signage on the outside of the building would help us know we are at the right building/entrance.

This was such a great place! One of the best escape rooms we have done (weve done over 70). What a wonderful little twist at the end!

Very friendly, great experience! We had a party of 5 in the binary room ages adult down to 8. The kids loved it and although we did use hints we were able to escape!

We came back to The Box excited to try out their newest room, Predestined. Its a favorite! The Box always blows us away with the story in the rooms and this one was a real treat. I wont spoil it, but I will say I recommend doing Cold Case Killer and The Ventriloquist first if you can (some great easter eggs). The room itself has lots to do, both as a group and individually. We would regularly work on different puzzles then come together to collaborate on a major piece. The puzzles are mostly intuitive and the few hints we needed were to remember to use things we had already found. The staff is warm, friendly, and in-character. Andy always makes us feel welcome and well be back again in the future when their next room opens :)

This was my first Escape Room experience & it was fun! We brought my mom here for her 60th birthday! Andy was the best part, he was so into his character & had us excited & entertained as soon as we walked in. Will definitely be back again!!!

Brought a large group tonight for a date night and ended up splitting guys vs girls in the Binary Room and Cold Case Killer and we all had the best time!! Highly recommend this place! Staff was amazing and beyond helpful in making this experience the best for us! Will definitely be returning!

This was the best escape room yet ! Alex and Mars were creepy (which was perfect for this scary escape room theme ! lol definitely coming again!

I participated in the Witches Cabin escape room and it was very fun and quite difficult! The puzzles do all make sense once you understand them, but they are difficult. You can get as many hints as you want which is nice if you want to ensure you do complete it even if you need help. Additionally, the atmosphere is very appropriate and the lore is cool.

Great experience doing the Ventriloquest room!! Dolls are super creepy which adds a scare factor!!

The cold case killers is one of the best escape rooms I have ever done and I have done a lot! It was just creepy enough with good puzzles. The staff even dressed up and acted the part to make it more exciting. I definitely recommend this this escape room venue!

We had a great time in the Binary Room! Our group consisted of 3 adults, a 9 year old, and a 5 year old. Everyone had a chance to help contribute and had a great time! We really enjoyed the challenges and the staff really played the part well! Wonderful experience- looking forward to returning another time!

Alexs entrance was fantastic! And things went great from there. 10/10 do recommend.

This was so much fun! Definitely not the ending I was expecting but we did escape! Definitely a must try for girls night, date night, etc. Will definitely be back to try more rooms!

Went on a Double Date here playing the Witch s Cabin. Was initially underwhelmed with its location and its exterior. But this book is nothing like its cover!! Game masters are fantastic. The game itself was challenging yet attainable. All around awesome time!!! Definitely coming back

Definitely recommend this experience. I took my 79 year father and my 14 and 16 year old nephews. Honestly, I wasn t sure what to expect. From the moment the host came out we knew we were in for a treat. Once we got into the room all 4 of us we on our toes trying to figure out where to find the clues and how to solve the case. It wasn t easy and definitely required some thinking outside of the box and a little assistance along the way. We re definitely going back to try the other rooms. It was a fun and engaging 60 minutes!

Went to this escape room last week with my son, and husband. We had done several escape rooms previously, and this escape room was by far the best one hands down. We did binary, and it was a great experience. We look forward to doing another escape room with box escapes in the future.

So much fun! I highly recommend! My friends and I were just in town for the weekend and wasn t expecting to be so hooked on this place. The staff is extremely kind, helpful, and in character!

Had an awesome time. Accidentally skipped a few spots just going with what made sense, and absolutely got my soul scared out of my throat for it. 100/10 would recommend

Ventriloquist was amazing. Definitely recommend this escape room. One of the best in Charlotte!

On Father s Day I had a group of 3 schedule a time to do The Witch s Cabin escape room the same day. Upon walking into the building we all got an ominous feeling, and were met by a friendly staff member. She gave us the option to put our belongings away if that is what we were comfortable with it and then gave us the rules of the escape room. Read full review with SO MUCH detail. We were offered an unlimited amount of hints, which makes it perfect for beginners (my group only used 4 hints)! To escape was a really critical thinking task, and upon escaping the staff member met us congratulating us. We then got some photos taken and left. I will definitely be returning to this establishment to do another room they have available (they have 4 total)!

My favorite escape room ever!!! The details are so thought out, the ambiance is perfectly eery, and the workers are beyond amazing. So sad to hear the place is changing owners:( My friends and I will miss Andy dearly Give this place a visit before February!!!

Took a group of high school students here for team building exercise. Was a lot of fun, and actually a challenge. Cant wait to come back and try other rooms.

This was my third time going to an escape room (2 different centers/companies in 2 different cities) and this one was definitely a great experience and a fave. Out of our group of 8, only 2 had escape room experience whereas the rest were newbies. With that said, we ALL had a blast with the Cold Case Killer and our host was amazing!! He stayed in character the entire time and was very professional and polite. We were a few minutes late as we got turned around but the host called us just to make sure we were still coming and was very helpful in giving us directions. I would highly recommend The Box Escape Room!!

We did the ventriloquist room! It was very challenging but we made it! I recommend trying this escape room! We had a blast!
