This was our very first experience with an escape room. We all had a great experience. The staff was very professional. Well be back for sure the next time we are in town.

Weve done a handful of different escape rooms in different towns and this one was by far our least favorite. 1. We did a challenge against half our group and there was zero incentive to not get help, unlike other escape rooms which limit you and make it more fun. 2. There was no sequence to the puzzle solving leading you from one clue to the next, so it was rather scrambled trying to figure out how any of it went together. 3. We were missing elements to our room that were critical for the problem...
solving 4. The music was too loud you couldnt hear the staff when they were giving you hints. 5. The speaker to the room was extremely poor quality so you couldnt even understand the staff. Personally I wouldnt recommend this place, I think they need to invest a little more money in quality given the price people are paying.

We had a very disappointing experience with the Mr. Eighties room. You have one job, which is to make sure the escape room works, and this one doesnt. Overall, the room is fun and creative, but several of the elements didnt work, which wrecks the whole escape room experience. The very nice young lady who was our guide kept having to intervene when the various elements didnt work, which made for a disruptive experience. When it came time to solve the final puzzle, she came back...
in the room to tell us that element also didnt work. She verbally described the puzzle and we solved it; but thats no fun! We wanted to actually solve the puzzle by ourselves and escape the room. We were told we would get a voucher, which I thought meant a free pass to do another room, but it was just a discount coupon for Axe and Throw, which we really werent interested in. It certainly didnt make up for the disappointment of the room being dysfunctional.

After all this time google needs a 0 star option. So... my friend and I have never been to an escape room. We walk in at about 1:45pm we get told theres a 30 min room at 3pm. We were like nah can we get earlier. Staff says yes! Go to our other location they can get you in right now. Cool thanks! Enter 2nd location. Staff says no you were booked for 3:30 like what? She says well we can get you in by 3 at the latest. Come back at 2:40 different staff says no you are scheduled at 3:30 come back then...
. So then we have to debate with her and she tells us to call the number on the brochure. That person says theres no other rooms available. Then says go back to our other location and we can squeeze you in. Keep in mind we did not book our room.... the staff did. So thanks for ruining our first attempt at an escape room.

This place has the best staff ever! Ive done most of the rooms now a few puzzles were a little hard to figure out but we solved each one with only a few hints! My favorite so far is mr eighties! I was born is 88 and I remember alot of that stuff! My boys favorite was the comic one! Definitely need to expirence! When you go and then book a second room you get 25% off so its definitely a steal!

this place was amazing!! my friends and i did the twisted treatment room and it was an absolute delight! the staff were super friendly... despite our party being late! they provided a comfortable environment and the quality of the escape rooms were excellent! the clues were detailed while not giving too much away! i would definitely recommend their rooms as it was affordable for the quality you recieve. overall, 5/5 stars!!

My family and I, many of them being their first time at an escape room, attended the 30 minute zombie themed apocalypse room. Easy to reserve and check in, we also loved the theme of the room and the staff was friendly. However a few min into the room we werent progressing when the staff told us to do the action we already did, again. We continued to do it, without any results happening. The employee then came into the room and told us that the electronics were malfunctioning and that they needed...
to reset the room. They didnt remove us from the room they just rebooted it of sorts, which made all of the clues go off at once and kind of took out the mystery. I mentioned then that wed like a discount, where the employees strategy was to just look at me blankly, and then walk out of the room. They then had the audacity to get on the walkie talkie and tell us that we only had 20 minutes left. If anything they could have restarted our time.

We have never done an escape room. We opted for the aquanauts room. The room looked neat but we really didnt know what we were doing. We mostly fumbled around solving puzzles out of order. Halfway through, the host let us know we had missed out on the video at the beginning. That would have been really helpful to have found out much sooner! It was pretty much a disaster from start to finish. It wasnt an enjoyable experience. I would try another escape room but would never return to this location. The staff left us to flounder in total confusion for way too long. Having never done an escape room, we didnt even know we were doing it wrong. I walked out feeling ripped off. If youre going to screw me over, at least make it enjoyable!

We did the Virginia city room and half the rooms were broken so we were asking for clues just to find out it was broken so they had to come fix it. We got out and broke the record time but they wouldn t put us on the leader board because we asked for to many hints when we asked for hints because the rooms were broken!

The rooms were fun and well set up, the employee that greeted us was not so friendly and left a bad taste in our mouth as we got started, but we did enjoy the room once we got started.

We ve done many escape rooms with Key and code and this by far was the worst experience. My group and I played Sierra Nevada Bigfoot and our experience started off rocky when we found a lock that was not locked. When we found the open lock we tried asking for help via singing a song to get someones attention and we were left in silence for too long until someone realized we needed help. The lock was never locked for us and we couldn t lock it ourselves because the code was messed up. This took time...
away from our game. The next issue was moon dial puzzle where we had the correct answer but we weren t moving it in a solid motion. If we were given the instructions to do that from the beginning we wouldn t have second guessed ourselves and had to do the puzzle over again, which again took time away from our game. There s was also another puzzle that we got correct and something did not open when it was suppose to, leaving us questioning our answer and wasting time doing it over and over again until we were told we had it. The game masters did their best, but our experience was unpleasant.

Key and Code Escape Rooms next to Forever 21 at Legends was awesome. The people were friendly and you got into your room quickly. The puzzles were plentiful and of varying difficulties. Tahoe 64 is good for any age or level of problem solving skills.

The staff is so nice. Had my friends bail on me for my birthday so I asked if I could move the time for another day with more people and they let us!!! The room was so much fun and I will 100% be coming back! We did blood of the original and it was the best escape room I have ever been to.

So much fun!! Weve done the aquanauts and magicians heist and loved them both. The employees are great also, they make the experience more fun. I would definitely suggest this for some family fun or for a friends get together.

Great family outing! We did the Virginia City room and had a blast with my 8 and 13 year old grandchildren! Friendly staff.

Horrible experience. Was not fun. Apparently there are 2 key and code locations in the legend mall. We went to the wrong one and had to walk all the way around to the other. Which made us 8 mins late. After explaining the rules the lady says our time has already started and we only have 45mins left. Even after explaining the situation of going to the wrong location the lady couldnt care less and said thats the rules. We didnt even have time to use the restroom because she started our time. Then...
once we get into the room it was hard to see some of the maps so we used our phone flashlight and got yelled at for that as well. No phones allowed. Lastly we would push the button like 5 times to ask for a clue and no one would answer. But she didnt hesitate to get on the speaker and say you have 30 mins left, you have 20mins left, you have 15 mins left, etc...the experience was not enjoyable and we spent hundreds of dollars on different key and code rooms at different locations, but this was the worst one. Very rude, rushing, and no guest service skills.

Have been to a lot of escape rooms, and this was my third! The staff was very friendly, but no one really answered the phones at all to get more information. The rooms have clues that are false leads and can make the rooms difficult. Not really common in any other escape rooms. But other than that, a nice place and averagely good escape rooms

I did the Mr. Eighties room to celebrate my birthday and I have had a good experience in the others, but this one was almost totally broken and they only offered 20% back. We initially asked for a voucher to another room because it was extremely disappointing and were told no. Dodge the Mr. Eighties room. It took away from the experience completely and was just lame. I wish they wouldve accommodated more.

Did the 80s escape room for a friends birthday. The room froze and had to be completely reset. Then another puzzle broke and the employee had to just give us the solution. We asked if we could do another room for a discounted rate and he said no, but he may be able to give us a 20% refund. Now we have to wait for the manager to call us back to see if that is even approved. Dont spend your money here.

My daughter had her 10th birthday here. I joined them and can I just say now I want my birthday here! It was a lot of fun. We did Mr Eighties as they said it was on the easier side for kids and they escaped with 3 minutes left. So fun. I know there are other reviews on about the different locations at Legends not sure if this is new but on the website, the confirmation email AND the day of text all said that the entrance for this one was next to Forever 21 street side. Which I appreciated because I never knew of another location except the one across from Galaxy IMAX. Good communication.

This escape room was amazing! Very magical, fun, interactive and engaging! Played several rooms and was given a great discount to play multiple escape rooms. Not only are the escape rooms awesome, but they have axe throwing as well!! Although axe throwing can be tough at first, it is very satisfying when you get it to stick. The owners are amazingly kind and fun, PLUS the staff is very helpful and hardworking. The owners have several locations for their locations and are very hardworking people. 10/10 would recommend to anybody I knew. The escape rooms and axe throwing are great activities for all kind of groups, big groups, small groups or even just an evening date for two. The prices are very reasonable and you can expect a good time!

I have been to their escape rooms and their Axe and Throw both places were super friendly and helpful were able to help me get bookings with a simple phone call. Everyone works super hard to make sure my experiences have been above and beyond! 11/10

My fiancé and I just spent our 11 year anniversary doing not one, but two different escape rooms! We have NEVER had such an amazing time out! After our first room we knew we had to do another. We had An amazing young lady help us and I wish I could remember her name. Either way, if you were thinking about trying out an escape room, this is the place to go!

It was EXTREMELY fun!! My family and I did a scary room and they warned you before you started the room about jump scares so it was all good. They would come over to the first door and start making a bunch of loud noise. I would always jump up. It was very unexpected!! A funny part was when they meant to knock really hand on the door and the door opened a bit. So fun would do again!

Puzzles need to be solvable without help. I m not trying to say I HAVE to succeed but when we got help for many of the puzzles the answers were ridiculous. We ve done three with this company now and hated two. Those two have been our least fav of ALL the rooms we ve done from around here to Los Angeles. The 80s room was cool though.

So much fun! Our very first time doing an escape room and what a fantastic experience it was! We did the Virginia City room and escaped with just minutes to spare. Our game master was awesome! I dont recall his name; we were there back in May. We did our second escape room back home in Vegas, it was fun but not near the experience we had at Key and Code. We will go back next time we are in Reno.

Didnt know this place existed until we did their axe throwing. So we did the package & came here afterwards & did the Chain Reactions room. It was so much fun! We did a lot better than I thought we would being only 2 people. We plan on coming back to try the other rooms & finish Chain Reactions.

Poor customer service!!!! Wont go back! Booked The Eighties room at Sparks location, showed up on time to location only to be told I was at the wrong escape room and I needed to go to the other side of legends, as far as you can go. Apparently theres 2 different escape room sites they have at Legends. Employee said she would call over and let them know we were coming over. Who knew! NOTHING on the website said anything about a second location, but ok, so we started walking, and walking and...nothing...
! In frustration we finally found a mall directory sign and the second escape room is on the OUTSIDE of the mall, hidden behind a sign and trees, off the road. Good grief! So we walk in, sure enough its the service entrance for that mall building, no one around to greet us. After about a minute and some loud coughing on my part, an employee walks out, tells us to do waiver and lock up stuff (unmonitored mind you) so I did, and THEN she says she is cutting our game play time because you were late. !?!?! I said no, you arent! This is not our fault... and explained what happened, and requested either a refund, my full game time, or a reschedule. She refused all of these and just said all I can do is if no one books after you then I can let you play 60min. AGAIN, not acceptable! I spent $60 on this for myself and my daughter and I am not giving them the option of booting me. I then asked to speak to mgmt, and was given a brochure with a phone number that went straight to an answering machine, twice. Left two messages -- no one has yet returned my call, my money, or offered me a different play time. The employees excuse... the email we sent you had a map and told you not to be late. Email Whats wrong with having an ACCURATE WEBSITE that tells me up front there are two locations in Legends! The email is supposed to be just the receipt. And why didnt the first employee tell me they were not going to give me full time before we started walking? Coward! This is not the first issue Ive had with their disinterested employees, but it WILL BE the last. Dont waste your time or money - go to ANY of the other escape rooms in town, they actually care about their customers and your experience!

As someone who has done over 130 escape rooms I will gladly recommend Key and Code for a good dose of quality Reno escape room fun. Great sets, large collection of themes, attentive staff and fun puzzle interactions all at affordable prices, this is a great stop if you want to get a good puzzle fix Here were the games that weve played so far Comic Shock - A great small game with a fun theme that carries out through the entire end. This room is utterly camp and has great puzzle interactions and use...
of props. Dont go more than three players for this game given the small blueprint. Mission Aquanaut - Aquanaut is the opposite of Comic Shock featuring a rather expansive room and a serious storyline. Lots of prop interaction and a very clever final puzzle make this worth a play Virginia City Haunt - A great spooky theme roomed that really takes you places. While other games just make the small room larger here you move on to different locations. A very thematic wild west room with a nice ending.

Fun experience but parts of it were broken so even when we did the puzzle correct nothing would happen and after getting 4 of the exact same clues we were told to just press harder. Then a whole other part we were doing just didn t work at all. It Sucks running out of time when you do something right and just get a well sorry a lot of stuff is broken right now
