The Great Escape Room Grand Rapids

Ive done two escape rooms at The Great Escape Room here in GR and they were a BLAST. Both of them were challenging and a ton of fun. The Great Escape Room is a fun little spot tucked into the old Masonic Temple. They have escape rooms and I believe scavenger hunt kinda rooms, too? Yet to do those scavenger hunt ones, but we definitely will! Really friendly staff there helps with checking in and what not, and theyre more than willing to help take photos of you and your group after your experience. Ive never done escape rooms elsewhere, but Im doing as many as I can at The Great Escape Room in GR!

Ive done perhaps half a dozen escape rooms all over the country, and the Grand Rapids Sherlock room was the most enjoyable. The puzzles were a little less math based and approachable to all ages in our group (youngest was 8). Staff very nice and building beautiful.

This was money well spent! Went as a group of four and was not disappointed! Its crazy to see how well/or not you can work with people even if you know them well. Can be used in many ways as a teamwork exercise and is extremely healthy for the brain. I hope there is a way for random people to play with and against each other someday. Great Job!

I was honestly a little skeptical of escape rooms but gave it a shot and I am so glad! We had 5 adults complete the room in 44 minutes and it was honestly a blast. We definitely needed some hints or there is no way we could have finished in an hour even with multiple graduate-level degrees in our group. I would highly recommend The Great Escape to anybody looking for a fun activity - I would probably limit the number of people to max 6 adults or it may be crowded.

I went to the Great Escape Room for the first time three days ago on May 20 with a group of friends, and it was so fun that we came back three days in a row! Each time weve went the staff has been friendly, helpful, and fun to interact with. We were the last group of the night when we came on May 21, and we had so much fun with the staff, especially the one who was watching us and giving us hints for our room (she was awesome!). Each room we have tried has been super fun and just the right amount of challenging. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the rooms and will recommend this place to others! Overall a great experience!

Our first escape room experience and it did not disappoint! Wonderfully crafted puzzles, the ability to get hints of you get stuck and want to keep things moving, and a large space. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and a big reason why we chose to leave a review! We had a great time and will be back!!

We had so much fun at The Great Escape Room! We did The Mountain Top Murders and had a blast, it wasnt impossible but still very challenging. Everyone there was so nice too! Thank you :)

First time ever participating in such an event. We will be back to concour that room. So much fun and excitement. Staff was very polite, professional and very helpful throughout.

First time experience, we didn t finish but had a great experience for Grandmother, Aunt, Daughter & Grandaughter next year we when come to Grand Rapids we will try a new room!

We love Great Escape Room! Husband and I have played nearly all their rooms and find them to be a really good balance of clever and commonsense. Online booking is a cinch; hosts are personable and fun! 10/10 - recommended with no restrictions!

Absolutely amazing experience, from the second we walked into the door they treated us with kindness and respect. They got us even more excited for our room and while in the room they reassured us that we could do it. Even though we were the last room of the night they never made us feel rushed to leave and actually spent time congratulating us after we completed the room. Harper was an amazing room guide and Im very sorry for not remembering the host names but they were an absolute blessing as well. Because of their kindness I bought even more tickets and immediately went back the next day. Since then I have been telling everyone to check them out. If you have the time I can promise they wont disappoint.

The great escape room in Grand Rapids was a blast. Our family did the Moriartys game room. It was challenging for the adults and still enough for the little ones to be involved and keep them entertained. We didnt make it out in time but still had fun. The game master helped when asked and kept the story line exciting. We will be back to try again. One thing I will say is I wish the website explained pricing for the young ones clearer. It said 35.00 for adults and then had a 33.00 price for students...
Read full review ( must have id) and seniors. The only age was mentioned was 16yrs. And under must be accompanied by a adult. We assumed that student ment collage students sense it mentioned school id. We paid the adult price for my wife and myself and our 17 yr old. And assumed our 10 and 7 year old was free. When we arrived we were informed 5 and under were free. So we paid 33.00 dollars for our 10 and 7 year old which really had fun but were still really too young to be much help. Not a deal breaker but wish it was clearer before we got there. Thanks to the staff for making a fun afternoon for our family.

Tons of fun! We did the mountain top murder mystery room. Puzzles get progressively more challenging. Creepy atmosphere. Helpful and friendly staff. We will definitely be back!!!

Our family group of 9 had a great time at Great Escape! We ve done several escape rooms and this one was high quality! We enjoyed the challenging puzzles and there were plenty of them to keep a large group busy. We will definitely recommend Great Escape to others!

I really enjoyed my first escape room experience along with my team from work! The Presidents Bunker was full of enough puzzles to keep everyone busy and collaborating together to accomplish our task. I would recommend this fun team building activity!

We had a fun time! It was definitely challenging, but we enjoyed it. I recommend for a fun family activity or for a group of friends.

I like to start off by saying how friendly the staff was there . My family and I were welcomed with smiles and kindness. They took the time to explain the escape room and allowed us to ask as many questions as needed ! We did the one where we had to save the patient and had a great time working together to escape. Overall, we had a great experience and I will definitely be coming back.

The staff were helpful, playful, and made the entire experience fun. They were invested in making our time enjoyable, which isnt always easy. They answered our questions at the end and during, but being sure not to give it away while playing. The room was fun and had a lot of different clues, almost too many; but for someone who doesnt do them as frequently, it might be too hard. Overall, its high on my list and well be going back soon. Edit: gone a second time and it was just as fun. Staff were excellent and made sure we had a great time.

We had a great time in the Haunted Hotel!!! Very well laid out and logical progression of puzzles. Engaging story line and some creative puzzles woven into it. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Cant wait to come back and solve other rooms here!!!

My girlfriend and I came here because we love puzzles and havent done an escape room together. We did not finish the room, unfortunately. But it was still really fun. And the puzzles are really cool! A great way to strengthen teamwork as a couple. We played the infirmary room together, and we solved some things quickly, but others left us really scratching our heads (in a good way). Even though we didnt finish the room, the staff offered to show us what we missed and was super kind to us the entire time. Overall, really interesting room design, puzzle design and really cool staff.

Our group had a great time, it was a first time for myself and a few other members of the group. The puzzles were challenging, but fun for the surgery themed room we escaped from. I would definitely do this again, and want to try all of the other rooms now.

My group had a FANTASTIC time saving our Nana Hannah in our escape room! The sign in process was smooth, employees were straightforward & engaged with the storyline of each room, and the wait room had games & other activities while we waited for our room to be available to us! We will most definitely be back soon, and with a larger group, and harder difficulty! We can t wait!

The Haunted Hotel is one of the best escape rooms Ive ever gotten to do. The designs and effects and puzzles were fantastic. My group absolutely loved it!! Its a great room for spooky puzzle solvers everywhere

Challenging and lots of fun. Lianna was a great hostess, helped keep us on tract without revealing too much. Recommended!

The Haunted Hotel was fun for the three of us (max cap 8). We didnt solve it, but we were so very close. It was a great experience for one escape room veteran and two newbies, easy to jump right in and start solving. The experience could benefit from a fan to move the air around.

We escaped from Moriarty s Gameroom (with lots of assistance and past the time limit)! Our host and Game Master, Wes, was absolutely amazing in giving us hints and clues in order to solve the puzzles. Our group of five greatly enjoyed our time here in the escape room. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great time escaping the haunted hotel at The Great Escape Room, Grand Rapids! The atmosphere was sufficiently spooky, the puzzles were challenging but fun, and our host was very helpful when we got stumped. Looking forward to trying the other rooms this location has to offer :)

What a great time! Challenging rooms, great props and setup, awesome interactive waiting room - staff was phenomenal!! Lianna helped us get ready for the escape, gave us great info, and helped us get discounted tickets to come back! Ranger Andrew was our guide when we needed help and he did a great job! Thanks to both of you, we cant wait to come back!!

We had a great time! We have done quite a few escape rooms but this one also has scavenger hunts which allowed our teens (13 and 15) to really enjoy the experience. Everyone was able to contribute in helping escape.
