Hysterium Escapes Fort Wayne

This was a really fun escape room! Just to be clear, this is not the same thing as the haunted house! The escape room is not scary, at least the one we did. It had a lot of good puzzles, and was overall pretty challenging. We really enjoyed it! It is by appointment only so when we arrived, we were the first one there and therefore it was still locked and nobody was there. But overall a great experience and we would go back!

We went here as our first date with some friends and had a really good time. The scares were fun.

Right off the bat the staff was ultra friendly and laid back..... Maybe too laid back and came off a bit laxidasical. After waiting a bit due to dead battery in tablets to sign waiver. The real waiting began. Group came in ahead of us and it took them a while to get them in the room. Waited some more then another group came in and to our surprise we were told they double booked the room so they told us two groups to decide who wants it. Read full review finally getting in 25 mins after our reservation which in turn made us 20 min late for a dinner reservation (took us the entire hr to finally get out) The actual room was decent..... Besides the escape door not working even after correct code. This can be a great place it just appears its a after thought instead of a serious business.

Used a Groupon. Well worth it!!! It was a good time!!! We we able to escape, but with only a few minutes to go. We definitely want to go again!!!! The staff is really cool.

Being in the escape from where your only way out is to find the answer to two questions, who was the woman last with and what time, it was an awesome adrenaline driven experience, one clue will always lead to the next. Just take it one step at a time and try not to overthink it! My brain was tired by the time we finally escaped the room, a true challenge. Awesome! Staff was very helpful and funny, especially John the gamemaster!

First escape room for me and My girl is the experienced one, and we made it! Challenging fornthe both of us. Loved the experience. Already making plans to go back.

we were bummed. Kind of janky props and red herrings to waste time. Our game master, a young girl, I dont know her name but she was great.

They double booked are room and then got mad at my friend for trying to figure out what was going on! Mean while there was a group with a Suprise engagement going on while the Manager was losing it! What a joke I Oh we got free tickets to come back from the owner! We live 5 hours away so needless to say never went back and never would!

Best haunted place Ive been to in years! Had a blast. Staff was fun & interactive & very in character If you havent been you should go!

Had a great time! One of the props was misaligned and stopped us from getting the final clue. Bummer but it was still a fantastic way to spend time with family.

I LOVED IT!! Could ha e been a longer run time, especially for the second tier tickets, but still had fun!!

The full contact haunted house was FANTASTIC! Definitely not for the faint of heart.. I was buried alive and we came out covered in mud and blood (fake blood)

Just took the entire family for a fun night out. Amazing attention to detail, excellent atmosphere, and the haunt actors were perfect in their roles. Some of the props and dressings are pure genius and (not to give it away and spoil your fun) the introduction and outro gimmicks are perfection and set the tone perfectly. We had a great time and it was the perfect balance of horror, attitude, fun, confusion, and effects. Well worth the money; well be back.

Went a couple days ago. Was really good, hard to scare me, I enjoyed the reactions of everyone else though. Great acting and performances from everyone. Afterwards learned that 13 had called off, which is completely astonishing because it was worth the money with just who was there. Keep up the fantastic work, hope you guys stay safe, and recommending this place to everyone I know.

It was a great experience and the actors are wonderfully spooky but delightful.. I love the Irish man in the elevator he is my favorite I must say. But it is wonderful and fun night. Although one male actor freaked me out by sniffing my neck and rubbed against me to close and touched my thigh close to my yoohoo. But it was black out night and maybe was an honest mistake.

The hysterium was quite an experience and Ive been to a couple scared centers in my day! The actors did their job very well and the staff was informative and courteous. I even had the opportunity to test their customer service as I purchased a damaged shirt and they were very kind and speedy to replace it for free! I would love to return on the nights they offer the full contact and blackout events! Overall great experience and I will be returning!

Just went here today for the first time and it was a blast.. the staff is nice and friendly and the excape room was awesome.. cant wait to go back and try another room!!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I thought this was where people went to get scared.... not to get accused/harassed about your sexuality Is she your girl friend or are you gay Yep I knew it. Your smile tells me you re gay . If the only way you scare people is by falsely accusing them- find a new job. I have been to multiple haunted attractions and never have any of the staff been as rude as the Hysterium staff was. UPDATE: The owner took care of this situation completely. Read full review this right away and didn t waste any time trying to fix this. The damage has been done- but the owner promised it will be addressed and should not ever happen again. As I have been a repeat customer for several years I was disappointed by last night. But after speaking with the owner I will be going back to hopefully have fun like every other year.

So much fun!! I highly recommend this attraction if you are used to haunted attractions. The actors interact with you and have conversations with you if you talk with them. The wait wasnt too long to get inside and the haunt lasts about 20 minutes.

This review is for haunted hysterium. It isnt the most scary, but they have some pretty school stuff. Mainly want to recommend if you are claustrophobic, you may not want to go. I am not, but one portion almost sent me into an anxiety attack due to being enclosed. They also could use some fans to cool it down. But it was pretty good.

Facility was quite run down. Bathrooms were filthy. They did not have enough staff on hand to accommodate our group as well as other groups coming thru. The puzzle was challenging but the props in the room or worn out from repeated use. There are other Escape rooms in town that are much better.

We showed up for our 7:45pm escape room and the door to the business was locked--not to mention the location is near in an industrial district that wasnt up and running on a Friday evening. All of a sudden two employees snuck up on us and from the first interaction, the male coworker was very impolite and the female was creepy (like a haunted house). Read full review he was telling us to do just to make his job a little more enjoyable for himself (i.e., trying to terrify our group before going in, making people with ankle shackles and wrist shackles link up, etc). Once the game actually started, it wasnt as bad since we werent directly dealing with the gamemaster. We got pretty far along and were only a couple steps away from escaping with about 30 minutes left and hadnt used a clue. However, we were stuck and asked for one. Then, the creepy female worker came in with a axe handle on her shoulder and told us we were missing some critical clues required to successfully complete the objectives. They blamed this on the owner not setting the game up properly and acknowledged that we were missing something that would have absolutely prevented us from winning. Once we received help about the missing items from the gamemaster, the gamemaster came into the room again and then just walked us through the final steps and said we won, even though we still had 25 minutes on the clock and 2 free hints left. It was kind of a let down. I will not be returning to this specific company (or recommending it to others) and will go elsewhere for escape rooms from the all-around poor experience.

Dead batteries so we couldnt operate the scale to get a combination. Wrong combinations from clues given and locks literally wouldnt open (staff even gave us said combination and it wouldnt work). Missing chessboard which would have given further answers. Missing decks of cards which gave yet another clue. And when all this happened, they still charged us and gave us a 20% discount for our next time in. Cause we all love escape rooms with missing pieces and wrong combinations.

It was a lot of fun but was so dark. The concept of the room was really interesting. Very well done and a bit complicated. We definitely will go back!

If you feel like sitting in a room with four intelligent people trying to figure out something that is more boring than a crossword puzzle, then this is the place for you, there was llttle to no enjoyment throughout the whole experience, no hints given to keep it at least a little exciting, I would rather put together a jigsaw puzzle than pay for this incredibly lame and entirely cookie cutter experience, none of the ideas were original at all and I only had some fun because I was with good friends that also thought It was a poor attempt to copy the ideas of others, staff was friendly, owner is super smarmy ingratiating and wheedling in a way that is perceived as insincere

Awful! There was only one staff member there and our room was not set up because the other staff members was not there! We had to get our money back! I don t want another experience like this! The only staff member there was very nice and was very sorry! Be prepared to not even enter!

One host who called himself Jimmy was making sexual innuendos and infering that my best friend and I were homosexuals IN FRONT of our wives. I enjoyed the haunted house experience, but I will not be returning because of how distasteful he was.

It was extremely scary and very trippy, my ears are still ringing from all the loud noises. 10/10 would recommend honestly.

We went on the final weekend with the blackout night and it was enjoyable but it seemed very understaffed. There were a lot of empty rooms and the actors did not play back with some of our jokes

It was something i never expected. Scary location: check, scary music: check, scary characters: check. Everything that i ever dreamed of and everything i expected to be there was spot on horrifying as i wanted it to be. I always wanted to work there ever since i went there and ever since it had made its grand opening for the first time.
