We did the escape artist room, with an 18% success rate, and it was great! It s very creative! Ethan was amazing and made us feel right at home. We ll be back to escape from the other rooms soon!

We had encore tickets for Dec 4 and did the Houdini Escape Artist: Last Seance room. The staff were friendly and informative, even when they were in character giving hints. The escape room was challenging but engaging. We had 5 in our group, so teamwork was necessary. I was amazed with the artistic talent and thought that went into their staging. The room had an 18% escape rate, and we were able to complete it with 10 minutes left, and only had to ask for one clue! I highly recommend this place and escape room experience. I hope to go back again!

August did an amazing job of being very welcoming and explaining the rules and suggestions of the rooms. He kept in character when giving us the next item and it kept the feeling alive. Very amazing job and all the love to hum for making it a great experience. Suzy, who controlled our room did also an amazing job of not hints per say, but little audio cues to help us stay on the path or not be fixated. There was a tech iCal difficulty at one point, but she solved it well, and if anything, Id recommend...
that being the way the coffin opens up from now on!!! The room went pitch black and once lights were back on the coffin was open. It was a room restart but it did a great job of being even scarier!! Overall would love to do this again and will recommend friends to do it because it is a great time.

Colosseum: Tanner and Chris were great support staff. The puzzles rooms were clever without being impossible. We do a lot of escape rooms and have ended up blowing through easier room and this room was the perfect fun challenge. A couple of equipment glitches but it didnt interfere too much with the experience.

We had a great time at the Great Escape Room! The first time we went was last year, when we did the infirmary escape room and had to solve clues to unlock doors and reach a patient, and save his life by performing a heart procedure! At the end of that session we were offered encore tickets at a reduced price. We were unable to use those encore tickets until we returned to Chicago yesterday, December 29th, 2023, and they honored our tickets. We paid reduced ticket prices for the Escape The Coliseum room, which is two hours in length. It was so much fun, the rooms were interactive, the clues were well thought out, and we had a great time. Our group of 10 will definitely be coming back for some more Escape Room Fun!

We went there as a team outing. We chose The Escape artist: the seance. It is decently difficult to solve and we took about 4 clues. Expected it to be a multi stage puzzle but it s jus 2 rooms. The staff was really nice and courteous. Ryan and Jacob were awesome hosts. Definitely recommend doing to this.

The Houdini room was awesome! The puzzles were really fun. Naomi did a great job of greeting us and briefing us on the room, and she was a lot of fun! Susie did a great job being our clue master. Some with about the success percentage. Have fun!

A bit disappointing. We did the Escape the Colosseum room (really a series of rooms), and many of the puzzles didnt work as intended. For example, there was a stone at the end of the rooms which, if you pulled a lever, rolled away so you could escape. For us, the mechanism holding the lever hadnt been fully reset, and so we accidentally escaped without solving any of the puzzles. There were other errors (like part of a puzzle missing), but the decoration was very good. We also did the Poker Night at the Presidents, which was alright. The decoration and atmosphere wasnt quite as engaging as the last, but all of the puzzles worked. Overall, the second room was an enjoyable experience.

Great time! Went for a girls outing, did the mountain top murder. Challenging but achievable. We all laughed, used our brains, and overall had a great time. Would definitely try other rooms they have.

Had such a fun time here! We did the Mountain Top Murders with just 2 of us and it was the perfect amount of challenging. The employees were super friendly and when we ended up needed a hint they led us in the right direction without giving anything away. We were able to complete the room with only 2 hints and 6 minutes to spare. It s a newer room so hadn t seen much feedback on it or the success rate.

What a fun experience! The room was really well put together; Chris & August were so great! Set the scene perfectly. The room was really fun and elaborate. There is a little part of me that wishes there were less combo-locks, but it was still so much fun! I look forward to coming back!

Hands down one of the BEST escape games I have experienced in Chicago. (And I have done at least 15 - across 3 different companies) Staff was super helpful and informative about everything we would and would not need to do/look for/move in the room(s) ahead of time. Loved the timer/hint system. Very good and challenging puzzles and even a jump scare that caused me to hit the ceiling! Also loved that they have sligty later times than other companies around. If you haven t booked your experience yet go do it before spaces are gone! You wont regret it!!

As an escape room enthusiast, I really enjoyed this place! The rooms were aesthetically pleasing and had interesting and unique puzzles. The only reason I didn t give 5 stars is because a few of the puzzles malfunctioned during our game. Also, the game masters, while very friendly, weren t following along with us so when we asked for a clue, they didn t know what puzzle we were on. I would highly recommend this place!

Enjoyed having a great experience at The Great Escape Room Chicago. We chose the room with the lowest success rate blindly. It was challenging but well setup up and enjoyable. The clues were well thought out and difficult enough to give you a sense of fulfillment when solved. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone

So much fun! Went twice already :) great folks here! Clues are only there when asked for. We did the hard Houdini one that only had 18% chance of escape with 2 people. Very hard. We were 65% through. Hard to do with 2 - that one can probably be only done with 1.5-2 hrs if you re playing with 2-3 people. I absolutely love that the rooms are private and you don t go with other people it makes it much more interesting to play only with people you came with. On weekdays they are pretty empty so best to go during that time!

Very challenging room but alot of fun! We did the Harry Houdini room which one of there more difficult rooms but the friendly staff is always there with limitless hints when asked.

We had a hoot and a half! My friends and I split up into two teams of four and did the Poker Night and Mountaintop Murders (my room) experiences. Both teams had a great time -- about half of us were escape room veterans and the others were relatively new or first-timers, but everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. The puzzles were great, the staff was very helpful with our large group, the location was easily accessible on foot, and the experience was overall very satisfying. I highly recommend it and plan to go back and try the other rooms!

The place was great! I ve done many escape rooms and they become repetitive, but this one had things I haven t seen in other escape rooms. Definitely worth going to! So much fun.

Such a fun experience! My group and I did the Colosseum room and had Suzy as our guide. She was great with giving us hints that were helpful but still in theme with the room. Highly recommend!

I had a group of 2 adults and 5 teenagers. Most of us had llimited or no escape room experience. We did the presidents bunker. We hoped to do it with no clues but eventually asked for some clues during last 15 minutes, but ultimately failed. We all had fun despite it being very challenging.

Such a fun team activity with work colleagues and a great way to bond and work together. We did the president bunker room and were able to space within last 5 minutes!! The space was well designed, and the employees at the escape room were very helpful

Super dope experience, we did a scavenger hunt escape room called Moriartys Game Room. We had our whole family with us, with two young daughters, and they loved it. Ethan was our guide in the room. He didnt give hints unless asked, and was a very gracious host. It was nice to have someone in the room with you, makes it less awkward if you get stuck. Ive done An escape room before, and this is the first time we escaped! If you want to try out these kind of experiences, but are afraid of being too lost with the puzzles, this is a great one to try. Especially with kids! A+ experience!

We booked a room for 915 and arrived at 845 to just wait in the lobby until it was our time. We were checked in and the host let us know they could reset the room then and let us start early and we agreed. After a few minutes we went in and there were already 3 locks unlocked and another puzzle already solved. We completely one puzzle and were told that we were working on it too early. We were asked to step out of the room while they reset it. Once we went back in, there was still a lock unlocked (think the lock was actually broken because it wouldn t lock) and another lock that was locked but the code was already put in. Overall the experience was disappointing, but the staff was friendly and apologetic.

I didn t know what to expect, but Naomi gave us the house rules and the Manager took us to our theme room. Our group worked pretty good together (co-workers having a team building experience) but we timed out before solving the room we got so close though! A good group activity for family or work team building!
