Thank you Escape Artistry for being a great Chicago attraction! The experience is fun and engaging for both a business group or family & friends. They are super easy and friendly to work with and very responsive.
So fun! This was my first escape room and it definitely set the bar high. Staff was really helpful. Also, the building its in is so cool! Lots of cool art all around.
The Railcar is a fun escape room. Its nicely put together with some fun and challenging puzzles. Getting into the Flatiron Arts Building and up to the Railcar was an adventure in itself. Plan a few extra minutes for that.
The Dollhouse was fun and our instructor was hilarious. She made us laugh so much. I loved how she never broke out of character. My biggest issue with this place is how dirty it was. Bathrooms were gross. The escape room had hair, dirt, stains, etc. I understand the retro theme but I didn t expect for it to not be cleaned since the 80s. Hopefully they can hire a cleaning person at least once every 2 weeks to keep this awesome place clean.
This was my first time doing an escape room and I was very pleased! Our conductor, Agent Rook, was fun and helpful at just the right moments. We escaped with only three seconds to spare! Would definitely recommend for a group of 5-6!
This escape room is unique and very immersive! The artistry/attention to detail alone was so fun and really lends itself to an immersive and challenging experience. The actual puzzles and challenges were fairly difficult, so its definitely not a room for a group of people completely new to escape rooms. I went with one other person and we did not complete it but got close. It was very fun/challenging overall, Im only giving 4 stars because I felt that the number of simple math puzzles were a personal attack against me, someone who will not tell you the answer to 2+3 without my phone calculator.
According to one in our group, It slayed! Agent Rook was really great and we loved the Railcar! Challenging for our group of 2 adults and 2 teens but hints were timed wonderfully and the puzzles were fun and satisfying. Highly recommended
Really fun experience and the escape room was rather difficult to solve! Loved the guy observing and coordinating named Aiden! He was very friendly and enthusiastic! 10/10 experience
Really unique themes custom to Chicago! Nice to see tie ins to the city and a good story. Our team had a great time in their pirate room.
We came here for an event last week and had such an amazing time! Thanks to our awesome hosts for making it a unique team building experience for our group. Will definitely be back!
Escape Artistry Escape Rooms has donated many times over the years to Surge for Waters Annual Gala. Their customer service has been great!
Love the themes and puzzles. You don t find a lot of rooms that have both but the team and game designers here did an amazing job. Can t wait to come back!
Pros: Decor was well done/immersive A few of the perspective clues were clever The second room transition was cool Cons: Some of the clues are confusing even after given hints from the GM on how to solve The do not touch stickers are so small that you waste a lot of time only to find that some of the items in the room are not clues One of the clues requires basic knowledge of chemistry or you have to study and understand the instructions One of the light based clues didn t work One of the moving...
components didn t work Some of the paper based components had scratch notes on them that threw us off (they were not part of the clues) Those same paper based clues didn t function the way they were supposed to easily Overall I enjoyed the theme and decor but was disappointed at the few things that went wrong or just didn t work well.
Went with some friends and did all 5 rooms, they were fantastic! Great puzzles, and the staff was tremendously friendly.
This escape room was so much fun! Super family friendly if you need it to be. Our conductor Rosie made this a super special night for my 10 year old son who wanted complete an escape room on his birthday. She even had birthday messages up for him which she made to look like graffiti on the trains window. It fit the theme so perfectly we didn t even noticed it right away! The theme was amazing. There was an intricate storyline which really made you feel like you were a part of the story. I will definitely be coming back to do another escape room here.
Exceptional experience, spending fun time exploring unique rooms. Well managed with friendly staff. Looking forward to doing more
One of our favorite rooms in Chicago! Really cool location and fun themes related to chicago history.
Our game master (Nova) was incredible and definitely contributed to why we had such a great time. The rooms are very well put together, fun to play, and have unique and engaging puzzles. I ve done a lot of room and Escape Artistry is on the top of my list now.
Agent Splits and all the workers at this space were fun, helpful, and supportive. Our team had a great time with a fair, challenging series of puzzles themes around an engaging Chicago history based story and good flow around the room. Highly recommend!
One of our favorite rooms in the city! PS go to Iron Age afterwards to celebrate. Tks Escape Artistry!
Wonderful experience! We did operation Granie with two adults and four kids ages eight to eleven and everyone had a blast! We live in the city and just wanted to do a staycation this spring break and this was definitely a perfect activity for the week! I definitely recommend it. We went with one other family and we definitely will do it again.
This room has lots of varied puzzles, but it feels stale and needs a makeover. Has an absolutely great plot, but sadly, the puzzles dont have much to do with the plot. In general we prefer rooms that have a high degree of tactile manipulation. On this front it was pretty good. However, something that can be done in a puzzle book or the newspaper is a big no for me in an escape room and this had a couple. Our game master was a problem. We asked for help realizing that we were not...
moving through the room at the pace we should have. - since we were only 2, he did not respond for a long time and when he did, wasnt very helpful. The room also required prior knowledge for 2 of the puzzles. - normally not something needed in an escape game. Its a gen 1 room with all 3 and 4 digit or word combos. We were on the last puzzle when time ran out. We dont get out of about 7% of the rooms we do. Many times because of the number of puzzles when we are just two, however, this I take exception with 2 puzzles being poorly designed and having us burn a lot of our time on those. We did the other rooms buy this company and had a really great time. We especially loved the Roaring Dans Pirate Dungeon (accept for one puzzle that was a little too high to see properly I would call it a near perfect escape game)... varied puzzles, a great set, the puzzles logically came out of the story. So my advice is skip the Railcar and do Roaring Dans Pirate Dungeon, or Operation G.R.A.N.I.E. - Better rooms, and a lot more fun!
Did their pirate and dillinger room 10/10 great experience. Highly recommend.
Agent Jace ran a great room for 6 (ages 19-60), Operation G.R.A.N.I.E., on June 11! Puzzles were complex and required teamwork. Agent was very in character and made the whole thing a lot of fun. Premise of the room was that youre exploring your grandmothers house and shes actually an undercover spy. Definitely recommend!
Great Escape Room Our favorite on our trip so far has been The Railcar! A fun & immersive experience with great design & we had an amazing game master Nova! Highly recommend!
