My friends and I are local and decided to check it out. We did the pirate room. Wow what an experience! It was just that, an experience. The staff/characters were awesome and we could not have asked for a more fun afternoon.
We had never done an escape room before. It was a lot of fun trying to figure out the clues to unlock all the locks to get out of the room. We had a group of 8 and it was good to have a lot of minds to figure out the clues
We did the pirate room. There were a lot of different types of locks, which was a nice variety. Yet, not much else in terms of puzzles. It was decorated very in theme. But not much else positive to say. The room was pretty hard (not necessarily a bad thing) with very obscure clues. The person running the room was kind of lacking enthusiasm, and didnt really seem into it at all. They didnt really give a good story to go with the room. It was, youre stranded on an island, heres my tavern, get out...
. They only give you two hints, which is fine, but I have enjoyed rooms more where they will really help you along to win and just let you know you cant be on the leaderboard with hints. It was my daughters first escape room and it was disappointing. Ive done quite a few escape rooms and Im sad to say this one ranked at the bottom. I wouldnt recommend it and I wouldnt return.
We escaped the haunted room! Pepper was a great host. This was the first time doing an escape room and it was so much fun! Had a little bit of a tough time maneuvering the lock combo but was a good brain teaser. We had 3 minutes to spare and did use our 2 hints.
Enjoyed this very much. Went through the pirate room with my brother in law and nephew. Had just over 11 minutes to spare. Good puzzles but not too difficult. Well run operation with very nice staff. Would love to go back to run through the other room.
This was our familys 1st experience with an escape room and had a great time. We did the ghost room and with 8 of us we solved with only a bit of help from the guide. Our host Pepper was fantastic, they gave us clear instructions and a great 1st timers explanation of what we should be doing. The room was a bit tight with such a large group, but we werent on top of each other. We cant wait to go back and try the other room.
This was a great way for the family to spend an hour! We never have done one before and we did the Pirates Room and even though it had us stumped at the end it was a blast! Two teenagers with us and they were engaged the entire time. That alone makes it worth it!
Really surprised!, I didnt have high hopes when I pulled up to the small building but the gentleman pepper did an amazing introduction and was very helpful the whole time. We picked the hard room with a bunch if newbies but with our 2 clues we managed to get through the final door.! Highly recommend!
Our guide was extremely fun and knowledgeable and she made the experience that much more fun! So did the resident ghost who likes to turn on the faucet! The Pirate Room was fun for a first timer like myself and our team escaped with 18 minutes to spare. We enjoyed looking for clues but did get thrown off. Communication and teamwork will knock this one out! I highly recommend supporting this small business! We will be back!
We escaped from the ghosties!! This escape game was awesome! Perfect level of difficulty. With a group of 7, we managed to get through the room with some time to spare. Murals in the room were so cool. Room has plenty of puzzles and extra surprises. Next time we are in town, we will definitely do the pirate escape. We all had a great time and enjoyed the little art shop around the back of the building!
While it was a smaller location, our group had a blast. We where a larger group so we split between the pirates and ghosts. I was in the ghost group. You could hear the other group through the walls, and it was extremely warm in the rooms, even though it was cool outside. The guides where just the right amount of helpful if we got stuck. We managed to get out with seconds to spare. Our group said we would like to go again and try the opposite rooms. I just hope that when it gets warmer, because it can get extremely hot in Savannah, the AC is working better.
This was a super fun experience! Our host was awesome! I wasnt quite sure what to expect since Id never done an escape room before, but it was a BLAST! We did the haunted room and made it out with just 7 minutes to spare.
My daughters volleyball tram has a great latest time at escape Savannah. The young man that was running their experience did a great job keeping the group engaged and searching...providing just the right amount of hints to keep them focused. Great group activity
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was great. We had an awesome time in the Haunted room and ........WE ESCAPED!!!!
Fun acting from the guide/monitor, a challenging room, and a great value. We did the pirates room with a few first timers, and it was pretty solid. Id give the complexity of puzzles a 5/10, but there were enough of them to keep us moving and thinking. Not the most intricate room Ive done, but not at all disappointing, and Im for sure going back to try the ghost room!
Overall disappointed in this escape room. We did the pirate room and picked this location over others in Savannah as the website stated the host would be in character as an actor. Our host was not in character and really didn t add to our experience at all. The room s objective wasn t clear and our host didn t explain that well. We would go back to try the difficult room but this one was too easy for anyone with any experience. Two of us solved the room in less than 40 minutes.
They had a pirate room to escape. This was my first escape room experience and I must say, it was well thought out. It was challenging to see how each item went together to try to give you clues. We had such a great time. I would love to go back for the zombie escape room the next time Im I Savannah. Wonderful experience and I would recommend this to everyone.
Though a little challenging to find initially (you go through the front, but have to ring the bell to be let in) the staff was awesome! We went with the scary themed escape room and it did not disappoint. Our guide was enthusiastic and really seemed to enjoy her job, which made our experience even more wonderful! The best part was the interactive nature of the escape room (which I won t ruin for you) if you love escape rooms and want a little scare in yours, then you will love the extra thrill.
Strong opinion alert - do not play Zombie Apocalypse. Of the 100+ escape games my wife and I played all over the country, we both agreed this was, without a doubt, the worst. It was truly frustrating how much this game felt like a cash-grab to more-or-less trick people into giving them $30 per person. To paint a picture... Zombie apocalypse takes place in a single room (which used to be Escape Savannahs lobby). The room is sparsely outfitted with plastic folding tables and chairs, several lockboxes...
all with number digit locks, and cheap looking set pieces and theming straight from the Halloween stores clearance bin. o The setting is supposed to be a research lab but there are various items thrown around that do not fit with this theme and just feel like random trash - tarps, a tire, etc. Even the boards on the window arent real boards.. they are painted pieces of paper. There are no cameras or microphones in the room as is normally standard in escape games. Instead, to get a clue, you must knock on the gamemasters door and tell them what you have solved and what you need help with before they can provide you a clue. Because Zombie Apocalypse use to be Escape Savannahs lobby, you are directly adjacent to the gamemasters room separated only by a sliding door that does not completely close. Throughout our game, we were distracted by the loud conversation the gamemasters were having in the room next door. When we knocked on the door for a hint, no one came out. At one point during the game a gamemaster presumably arriving for her shift with coffee in hand walked from outside the building, through our room, and into the gamemaster room- she said dont mind me. At another point, an arriving group of players for another game was knocking on the door to enter the building (through our escape room) for their escape room. We were told in the intro to the room that there would be a live actor that enters the room at some point. The gamemaster said this zombie will not touch you and requested us not to touch this zombie. At no point during our hour did any actor/zombie enter the room. When we asked the gamemaster at the end of the game about it, she said she tells people that there will be a live actor whether or not there will be or not to keep people on edge. She said if we wanted to see the live actor, to come back on a weekend (note: we played on a SATURDAY afternoon). The puzzles were all paper based. The puzzles themselves werent terrible, but many of them (for example, index cards with basic arithmetic on them) felt more like homework than fun, clever puzzles normally seen in escape rooms. There were no fun moments/surprises/reveals in this escape room. The entire (one room) space was available to us from the beginning of the game, no technology was used, and there were no fun interactions - just entering numbers into combination locks to open lockboxes. The ending was very anticlimactic- it ends once you open the last lockbox. To be honest, we werent even sure if the room was over. Halfway into our hour, our gamemaster came in and started cleaning-up/resetting the puzzles we have already completed while we were still playing. We have never experienced this in an escape room... at that point, we just turned to each other and laughed. At the time of playing (early January 2020), this room was listed as a capacity of 8-16 people. I played this room with a group of 2 and finished the room with one hint used- not because we are great escape room players, but because there wasnt a lot going on in this room. Six people should be the absolute maximum for Zombie Apocalypse due to the limited number of puzzles and small space. As I type this, I cant stop shaking my head. I really dont like disparaging small businesses, but Zombie Apocalypse just felt...unethical. We hope those new to escape games do not judge the escape game industry on Zombie Apocalypse.
Awesome game. I played the Escape the Haunted room game and was pleased with the experience. I found the immersive elements to be very exciting. This is the only real way to play an escape game vs a lot of those other generic places. Escape Savannah has character!
We tried the pirate-themed room and it was so fun! Capn Rogers made the experience very interesting by interacting with us and making herself part of the story. She was also quite helpful when we needed a clue. The room was challenging enough to keep all of us on our toes yet just easy enough for us to solve the puzzle with 12 minutes to spare, which is exactly what you want in an escape room! I highly recommend checking this place out!
Absolutely amazing! We showed up not expecting much, but the people are great and really good at helping when you need it. They were super funny and nice. Me and my group loved it. We all loved the ghost who was in our haunted room. Couldn t have had a better experience. Totally suggest!
My group of 7 went here last night. We were all first timers to escape rooms and we all had a blast. We chose the haunted room and at first we had no idea what to do or where to start. 10 minutes in and we still hadnt cracked the first clue. But then minds started working and we figured it out! We escaped with 90 seconds left on the clock!! We had so much fun! The puzzles and riddles were great. The Escape Room was challenging and rewarding. As a novice, my review may be a little biased since Ive never done any other escape room, but our group have decided we will definitely be coming back!
We had a lot of fun! The actors really add to the experience: they definitely started us more than once.
What a blast! Do the pirates room if youre a Goonies fan!! Anna was super sweet and helpful with my parents for their first escape room experience! Fun clues and a great layout for a wonderful time. Totally recommend!
My group and I did the haunted room (little girl) a few weeks ago. Overall, I left super disappointed. Weve done a few escape rooms before and usually finish just in the knick of time. With this room, we were able to solve the puzzles out of order and escape with over 20 minutes to spare. There was no flow to the room and I found it more frustrating than challenging. Having the game master literally walk into the room to ask if we needed clues 30 minutes into the game also really killed the atmosphere...
. Usually escape rooms utilize much better technology to monitor games - at least a walkie talkie or something of the sort wouldve kept up the illusion of being in a room that needed escaping. There was also no actress in our room, though I saw several reviews saying that the actress playing a ghost was enjoyable.
My very first escape room experience and this was beyond amazing. Pepper was excellent, I cant speak highly enough of him! We escaped the haunted room, and will be returning for the pirate room! Cant wait
My family and decided to visit the Escape Room and had an AWESOME time! We enjoyed our experience in the Haunted Ghost Room. Our host for the Evening Kiwi was amazing! She was friendly, kind and helpful throughout our time there. Only downside is, we didnt have cash to tip our hostess, and she didnt have cash app but she certainly deserved it....oh and did I mentioned, we ESCAPED!! We surely will be visiting again.
Went with a group of six this past Sunday (3/18) and barely managed to escape the haunted room with a lot of hints and a few extra minutes thanks to our awesome guide! We all left very happy with the experience and discussing doing more rooms in the future. Very cool group activity.
Permanently closed! This is a scam!!! Do NOT book! We scheduled the Haunted Room for September 15 @12pm and no one ever showed up! We called multiple times and left multiple messages with no response! Again THIS IS A SCAM!!
