The Night at the museum was an amazing escape room. Since we were only the two of us, we couldnt complete the whole task in an hours time. However the host was sweet enough to help us out complete the remaining part. Overall it was a 5/5 experience!

Weve done literally hundreds of escape rooms and we thoroughly enjoyed the Gallery Heist! While it may not be as refined as other rooms, what with wires hanging about and the room a bit bare, the clues and puzzles more than make up for it. There were some truly unique elements in this room and we will surely be back!!

Had a blast with my husband and children (11, 7 & 6). It was our first time and although it took a few minutes to figure out exactly where to start, the owner and provided hints were SUPER helpful. I thought it was cute and very entertaining and thankfully with the help/hints were found the thief and escaped (Gallery Heist). I definitely plan to visit again!!

The first escape room my girlfriend and I tackled in DC coming from Atlanta, and it was a great experience. We tackled the more difficult and experimental room called The House of Pawns, which we could definitely see was different than usual. It was single room and focused more on cleverly themed and brain-racking puzzles. It was really cool to see that this room had evolved many times with a narrative. We really appreciated our game masters genuine attempts to help and push us along and did a great job even when we were the last group to play for the day. This particular room is more for those who are looking for a creative challenge and engagement, and I can definitely say it is a well designed one. ps. Hit us up and well go do Insomnia!

A great escape room. Not the best production quality Ive seen (hint system is chat over an iPad, lots of paper and tape, etc.), but the puzzles were fun and challenging and used universal things like colors, numbers, directions, magnets, etc. Our host was very friendly! Great price too.

We do a lot of escape rooms. A LOT. This felt as much like an escape room as a garage sale feels like a store. Yes, technically, there were puzzles to be solved. The game did not flow. You get what you pay for, I guess. Take my advice -- pay 20% more and get 100% more quality and professionalism.

We did the art gallery escape room and we really enjoyed it! The puzzles were clever and we made it out in time. We were being sent clues, but we would have liked to see if we could have done it without them (probably not)!

Honestly one of the most frustrating escape rooms I have done. I understand the concept of what they were going for, but the actual room and clues were lackluster at best. It was neat that the concept was episodes and the room keeps changing, but really it makes things more confusing to follow the plot and the clues were a stretch. We had to use several clues (which is normal) but when we were told what to do our conclusion was mostly how were we supposed to figure that out? I still dont know ha! I have done over 20 rooms around the country and this didnt match up quality wise. Things were also written on with the answers. But if you are looking for a completely different escape room experience, this fits that description.

Great escape room. This is my 3rd one, but 1st as a work team building exercise. My only criticism is that the room was extremely hot, however, there is a number you can call to adjust that, we didnt discover until more than halfway through at which point there wasnt a point. Bring your thinking caps for sure!

My wife and three of my best friends took me here for my 30th (woo hoo!) birthday and we had a blast! The man who runs it, Milind, is awesome and is very passionate about everyone having fun and he only adds to it. The game last no more than 45 minutes and he allows you a few hints. My group did it in 30 minutes and we had so much fun solving the mystery. At the end, he gave us prizes and we took some photos together. I recommend this for any friend group or even co-workers for team building. Its right in Eastern Market and just half a block from Barracks Row so you can enjoy a drink afterwards. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Ive done escape rooms a few times and this was a very enjoyable experience! The props and decor seemed minimalist/not as fancy as other escape room chains but they had a human touch and passion to them! Pros: Variety of puzzles that werent overly convoluted or took way too much time; great pricing; great location; adequate length/difficulty that helps you feel a sense of accomplishment! Cons: Air was a little musty; the hint system was a bit tedious (you have to click through all available hints...
in chronological order until you reach the hint you need; in other escape rooms Ive done, the game master presented the hint that was appropriate to our progress. But perhaps the experience may have been different if we asked questions directly to the game master!)

My girlfriend and I went at Gallery Heist and had a BLAST. The puzzles were challenging but fair, the order of progression in solving the room was natural, overall it was just an amazing experience. It was made perfect by having such an amazing host. If youre looking at a great, AFFORDABLE night out, this is your place (and yes, we escaped!!).

So much fun! It s clear this Escape Room creator is passionate about it & made a really creative & fun set of rooms instead of buying some big box sets. It felt kind of minimalist when we first walked in but there was a lot of hidden depth, the puzzles were so unique & fun, it ended up being an incredible experience and the creator s opinions on Escape Rooms (e.g. don t overly rely on too many keys & locks) were felt it made for a better experience than many others & I now fully agree with his opinion!

Night at the Museum was a perfect beginner escape room. It was accessible to a group with an age range of 9 - 45. The puzzles were engaging and challenging but not overly frustrating. The hints were well-designed. All this for only $20 a person. Great fun!

My son and I are escape room junkies and we attempted 6 rooms in one day. We saved the escape artist DC for our last 3 rooms. We were concerned because there were just 2 of us and some rooms needed more people. But the host had adjustments in the puzzles to accommodate teams of 2 if needed We had been successful with the first 3 rooms on our quest so we were pumped to see if we could actually do it and escape all of them. We got to the escape artist DC and it is in a little row house. There...
are no frills here but lots of adventure. We were greeted by our host and he suggested we start with the hardest room first This ended up being good advice since we were pretty mentally-spent after #5 but back to the rooms All of the rooms appear to be really basic but looks can be deceiving. They were all so well themed. The system they use to provide hints was very unique. It was also neat to see new devices and games / challenges. We did all 3 of his rooms but we would definitely do more if/ when they change them up and we are in the area. We did escape all 3 rooms with just the 2 of us. We were physically and mentally wiped out but what an awesome day.

I had a group of 9 adults come to do the Night at the Museum Room. The manager/statf was very friendly and helpful. We loved that there was plenty for everyone to do inside the room so no one felt like they were not needed. The variety puzzles were great for all types of people. We successfully escaped in 42 minutes with no hints, but we definitely felt challenged along the way. We had a fabulous time and cant wait until we can come back and try one of the other rooms!

The manager/staff member greeted us upon entrance. He was very nice and patient with my family members as we came in one by one. I recommend this experience for everyone! This was my first visit to an escape room and it was a 11/10. I will definitely be returning soon.

It was my first escape room experience and I really enjoyed it! The owner is super smart and also an amazing artist. His story on how he started his escape rooms is powerful and will leave you wanting to do more. While the game is usually played with three to four people, my friend and I got pretty far as a team of two. It was a great team building experience for everyone! So, if you are looking for a fun activity to do on a weekend with friends, family, or coworkers, go do an escape room at Escape Artist DC! Find the Escape Artist Within You!

The Ecsape Artist DC is very pleasurable and definitely hidden away in plain site. Solving the mysterys were sooo exciting and fun! The owner was amazing and treats you as a longtime friend. Even children are allowed to indulge and heighten brain expansion. Just imagine the exploring, unlocking secret passages and solving puzzles. Even as an entire group makes it that more of a team building skill. I highly recommend and I can not wait for this place to expand Its puzzles. Super smart guy!

My group of six adults completed the Night at the Museum room in April 2017. The experience was challenging, fun, and exciting. Without giving away any spoilers, completing the challenge and escaping the room requires a combination of logic and creativity, for an experience that works both sides of the brain. The puzzles are colorful, diverse, and fun. The owner/designer has created a consistent theme in the story behind the puzzle so that the participants must solve a mystery to obtain the key...
and escape. The premises are very well-maintained with a nice lobby and foyer for the initial briefing (hint: listen carefully) prior to being locked in the room and puzzles in the room ranging from simple to highly unique and complex. In the world of growing digital media and experiences, it is great to be able to complete an in-person and hands-on experience like this one. My group found this to be both a great team-building experience as well as gratifying to each of us individually. I highly recommend Escape Artist DC and would encourage groups of all ages and sizes to try it.

This place at first glance looked like someone s home, but I knew that wasn t the case because of all the signs that said this is not a house that someone lives in or something to that nature lol( there were at least 3 signs I saw). Then we walked past the kitchen to get to our room(there were things all over the counter.. Everyone knows to clean the kitchen for company). Once we got inside the room and we settled in for the guy to tell us the back story . I knew this was definitely DIFFERENT...
. I have been to dozens of escape rooms and what happened next was the first. He turned on the tv and went to YouTube for our briefing ok.. then directs or attention to a pad on wall that looks like an alarm system. The pad is where clues come up.. sound simple? Nope. Because the clues were pre-made you can t ask specific questions. There was absolutely no flow to the room and a group of 5 we barely were able to get through anything. Overall, whoever bought this house really put a lot of work into the escape room. It didn t flow though, just a lot of random clues. Wouldn t return even for the price. Spend more!

Easily the best escape room Ive ever visited. Escape Artist is a conveniently-located escape room in DC. Its right next to parking, amazing restaurants/bars, and easily metro accessible. Its BYOB, too - not common with escape rooms. Better yet, Escape Artist easily has the best escape rooms Ive ever seen. The puzzles arent unfair or overly convoluted - rather, theyre fair and just difficult enough. No ridiculous leaps of logic, unfair math puzzles, etc. Everything feels very well thought-out, and you can tell that the puzzles were designed by Escape Artist (rather than just purchased online, like other escape rooms). My group had an absolute blast.

First off, if you like puzzles, mind games, and word play, go somewhere else. Because THIS place is that and so much more!! Of our group of seven, only two had been to other escape rooms, and we were so impressed after our first room, we decided to try a second. Totally worth it! Mlind is an accommodating and engaging host, well definitely be back each time he refreshes a room.

Escape Artist DC is definitely worth a trip. As a party of four, we did a night at the museum. It was a lot of fun. A challenging event, but not impossible, it did take 50 minutes. Great location and great price!

Came here with friends for my birthday. We did the House of Pawns. Its unlike any escape room Ive ever done. It was witty, creative, and made me feel like I was in an episode of House of Cards. We had a FANTASTIC time. Thank you for a great birthday, Escape Artist DC!

Super complicated Escape Room. Very impressed. According to the guy running it when we visited this weekend, they come up with all of their own problems and solutions. That by itself is quite impressive. The group of two did the room that can take up to 8. We didnt finish, and a group of four would have been better, but I dont regret it at all. You can hit the bars before or after going here. I def recommend this place.

Very original rooms with a friendly, clever and creative owner. Have done 20+ rooms and am incredibly impressed with the originality and simplistic yet complex design of the rooms. Great value for money and a must for those who love escape rooms.

Great Escape Room. Especially liked the thematic puzzles (we did an escape room around art, and many puzzles related to a basic knowledge about fine art). Kudos also for keeping this escape room so affordable - almost half of what was available at other locations on that day.

I have been to EADC three times now and have enjoyed each experience. The owner has definitely learned how to make it more enjoyable each time and provides help (if you need it!) and in ways that you still figure out the clues on your own. Its great team building, or just a fun time with friends. I enjoy EADC so much, I like to take out of town guests here to experience something different and although not uniquely-DC is very fun and has DC themes. For a 10% discount, use coupon code: Kiron
