Very fun experience with the family, the puzzle and scenario was on point and stumped us for a little bit. The clues were helpful to point us in the right direction. Staff were friendly, location and parking are easy to get to. We ve been here a few times already and keep enjoying it :) inviting friends the next time to plan a visit.
Room was well enough designed and had decent puzzles, but we were out in under 30 minutes with limited challenge - it was pretty disappointing. Maybe some of their other rooms are better but the Salem Witch one was rated 3/5 keys difficulty and was a joke.... worth maybe $20 a person for a half hour room but definitely not a full hour experience.
The theming inside the entry is simple and effective so its great. Staff was beyond super friendly too. Did the Salem room with a group of four, which (witch?) was awesome given the magical effects of the puzzles. Had so much fun we immediately booked another room. The samurai room was def harder, but again the decor and puzzles for the room were well designed. If the other rooms in their other locations are on par, well be checking those out as well.
Like all escape room, book in advance! This place can come across as a sketchy parking lot at first, especially if your appointment for the escape room is at night. But once you get in, the atmosphere changes. There is their own plaza parking lot. You should get there 15 minutes earlier for set up, and signing consent forms, for those who been to escape rooms, you know what I am talking about. Then they take you to the briefing room where you watch the video, it gets you in to the mood...
, talks to you about the themes that you are about to experience. From there on out, you are brought to the hall where you can put your stuff in a locker if you want, and be brought to the room with another set of brief explanation. The staff are super friendly, and if you were to book another appt on the same day you finish the escape room there is a 15% discount. I do think that this is on a pricier scale since is $38~ per person, def can be cheaper. But I do have respect for the game master as they have done a great job on the room, and its difficulty. We did the pirate ones, and the first set of things got our heads turning! Do recommend!
Super fun experience! The host provided excellent service, the place was clean and organized and overall it was a great first time for us. Well be back for sure!
This was my first time coming to an escape room and it was lots of fun. I came with a group of 10 and the employees were very nice and chill. The room we did was the area 51 room and it was hard at the time but now that I think of it in hindsight it should have been easy I just over thought some things when they are right in front of your face. I would totally recommend this place to people who have never done escape rooms give it a shot and you will have lots of fun. And a shout out to kay for making everything go smoothly.
It was a great experience, the staff was great! First time doing the vr escape room, and its definitely a new experience if thats what you are looking for. We finished the game, definitely.
Loved the room! Ive done dozens of escape rooms and this ranks towards the top of my list. The experience starts the moment you walk through the front door. I also like that they dont make you play with other people. Its just your group. Id recommend a group size no larger than 4. The puzzles are fun and inventive but rather linear in nature so a group bigger than 4 could feel very crowded in the room. I cant wait to go back and try their new room next month.
Super fun! And we came back! Its a pretty cool experience and the staff is really great! They put up with the loud and crazy of the group in stride Weve done the witch room and area 51. Area 51 was more challenging, but both have been challenging and fun.
We had so much fun escaping! It was really challenging but there were just enough hints to keep us going. I cant wait to go back
Went here with my youth group from church. We loved it. Area 51 room was tons of fun. It was very hard though. I recommend an easier room if youre a first timer. But no matter what room you choose the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cool. Its a little pricey as most of these places are but I would recommend everyone do it at least once
So far weve only done one room at Back in Time and it was excellent. We are already talking about our next visit. Without giving any hints, the room was fully immersive and very well decorated to reflect the time period of the story. The puzzles were well thought out and relevant to the story line. Many rooms in the past have just been random locks that you had to find codes for but all of the locks in the room fit into the storyline in some sort of logical fashion. I would highly recommend this room to anyone of any skill level.
Very good escape room we did the Area 51. The room is well decorated the mechanisms are different than other escape rooms. The lights and props are really putting you into the theme. The Game Master was really nice and did keep up with us during the whole time. I recommend this room to anyone that would like to enjoy a good time
Weve done both their Salem Witch Trials and Area 51 rooms and theyre both great rooms. Both rooms are pretty hard too. Personally, I like the Salem room more because of the theme and the puzzle types. I recommend 4-5 people because its the smaller of the 2 rooms. And 5-8 for Area 51 depending on your teams experience level. But it was pretty hard. We had less than 15 minutes left, used 2 clues and apparently thats the best time so far. They said only 5% of teams pass that room with 3 clues or less.
We had a group of 7 for a bday party. The booking was online, quick and easy. The staff was very friendly and fun! The experience in the room itself was great! We even got our picture taken and emailed/texted to us just before leaving.
Hey this was a cool place for a team event, I went here with my coworkers. Props to my manager for not choosing a lame event! The Area 51 room was tough but the employees also seem to have fun here, and we managed to get through. Challenging but not at all frustrating.
Outstanding experience. Friendly staff, clean facilities, challenging puzzle. We came here for our 23rd anniversary. Id recommend this location. Well be back.
Ive done 50+ escape rooms, and we were running out of ones in Orange County to do. Luckily, we found this one near Torrance. Not too far and away from the most of the bustle of L.A. The Salem Witch Hunt room room did not disappoint! Clever, unique puzzles. You can tell they made most of them themselves. Nice use of technology too. Just when you thought youve seen everything. Its a linear room, so you can do with very few people and probably still make it out in time (we had three in our group). Ill be back to try their Area 51 room, although Ive been warned that its very difficult (although not as non-linear). Since we only escaped the Witch room with three minutes to spare, that makes me nervous.
This was my 11th escape room, so I have seen some elaborate ones, as well as barebones rooms. This room was more in the latter category. Our guide was friendly and very helpful. Our room had a 30% success rate of escape. The other 2 were 20% and 16%. There are usually rules like only 3 helpsor wait for 20 minutes before requesting the first hint. Here, we had to wait 10 minutes before we could request our first clue. If we were on the right track but stuck, our guide would flash a message on the monitor to help us along. We escaped with 17 minutes to spare!! It was a fun room, but a couple of the deeds we had to perform were a bit too precise. Good to have an escape room in the South Bay!!
Had such an amazing experience from start to end. Jon W was full of energy and enthusiasm that it was contagious. You can really sense when someone loves what they do, and this was one of those experiences. The room and puzzles were so well thought out and designed in Hanzo. Highly recommend Back in Time!
Super fun! We had so much fun together! The room and story was extremely well made and exciting! This room was really beginner friendly, a few of us havent done an escape room before. Our party of 7 only used 1 hint but it was still pretty challenging! You get a 15% discount if you rebook another before you leave the door! Going for intermediate Blackbeard next!
My group did the Area 51 room and I m more than satisfied with my experience. The room s visuals were appealing, the solution to all of the puzzles made perfect sense and didn t require an extensive amount of reaching, there wasn t an overwhelming amount of red herrings to lead us completely off the trail, and most importantly there was variety in the puzzles so the room wasn t repetitive. The room alone merits a 5 star rating but the staff was incredible. When we asked for clues, sometimes we didn t exactly get it, so they put in the effort to elaborate on them a little more. Our group was also quite late but we still got the full hour and and then some! This is definitely the best room I ve been to so far!
Went here for a work team bonding event. I wasnt expecting much as Ive never done an escape room before. I was blown away by the whole experience. The staff were very friendly and we all had such a blast! We did the Area 51 room and made it out with 2 min to spare. I definitely would love to come back and try the other two rooms they had available.
Had such a great time doing Area 51 last night with my friends. The room was big, quite challenging, and super fun. The staff was very friendly, and my game master was the absolute sweetest! I highly recommend coming to Back in Time Escape Rooms.
Awesome experience. Was my 1st escape room. Took the family. We did the area 51. They say its the hardest one. We escaped with less than a minute remaining! We all had a great time.
Great place, visiting from out of state and was looking for something to do before our flight. Our group has done a bunch of escape rooms previously and this is definitely in our top favorite rooms. It was a great challenge and the entire staff was amazing which helped make this experience even better.
Our company had two teams, we each did two rooms and competed to see which team did it faster. The rooms are challenging and well done! The staff are super friendly and helpful. They make sure you have a good time solving the rooms.
Great place for escape room! Staff was super friendly, informative, and helpful. We came with a group of 11 people. Even though the website said max 10 people, they were more than accommodating to us. My wife and I will definitely be coming back again! Thanks for the great time and experience.
We had such a great time here! Best escape room weve been to so far! Loved the immersive experience from the moment you enter. James was our game master and he was great and made our experience even more enjoyable. We will DEFINITELY be back!
The Sword of Hattori Hanzo was my familys first Escape Room experience. The staff were all pleasant, engaging, and welcoming. They made the newbies in our group feel comfortable, and the seasoned escape-roomer feel very interested. After we signed the waiver, they explained the rules and situation to us. The history behind the room is fascinating, and leads right into the story - we needed to find Hanzos sword & find the code to escape! The room itself was beautifully decorated with clues, both...
clear and well-hidden. Puzzles were everywhere, and we were all immediately engrossed in trying to figure out where to begin and how to proceed. With each puzzle solved, our excitement grew as we inched closer to our goal. We escaped with 6 minutes to spare! We took advantage of the clues both offered and requested, which made our experience all the more enjoyable. Even before we left, my kids wanted to come back to try out a different room! I fully recommend Back in Time Escape Rooms! We will definitely be coming back for another adventure!
