The Escape Game San Diego

This was my first escape room and it turned out to be so much fun! Alicia was a great game master. We had a mixed group experience and we all worked together to escape with only 2 minutes to spare! ** I came back and did the prison break escape and it was so much fun! It is challenging but we escaped with the help of Izela the game guide.

WOW! Did three rooms here with my boyfriend - Timeliner, Prison Break and Special Ops. Each one was SO different, SO FUN and exceptionally done. Our game masters were so amazing. Thanks for being so accommodating and fun!!! We really had ourselves a blast!

Best escape room I ve ever done. Escape rooms should be judged based on 4 criteria: 1) Creativity of the puzzles: Do they test different parts of your brain or are you just looking for numbers & letters to open padlock after padlock? 2) Technology: Are they incorporating a variety of tech into their puzzles like electromagnets, keycards, & vacuums? Even historic-themed rooms can incorporate railroad cars or weighing scales & levers. 3) Ambiance: Are they putting effort into decorating the rooms...
Read full review to really make it look like you re in the actual environment of the theme? 4) Staffing: Is there a dedicated Game-Master who is monitoring you to provide clues when asked for, or is it one person trying to handle 4 groups of people at once? Of course, 2,3 & 4 require bigger budgets, but there s still a lot you can do in the way of creative puzzles and ambiance if you get creative with recycled/upcycled materials. In all 4 areas, The Escape Game is a solid 5 Stars. The Gold Standard by which all other escape rooms should be judged and aspire to. So good that I wish I could work for them as an engineer designing puzzles and making practical devices to enhance the their experiences. I ll be back soon.

Alejandra, Alicia, Lily, and Noel made our experiences really exciting! Great customer service and very welcoming. Weve played every room at this location and none were a let down. The Timeliner was so unique and fun! The puzzles and rooms are super creative and just the right amount of challenging. We definitely recommend this place as a must do! Thanks to the staff for making our experience here worthwhile!!

We did the Timeliner room and it was a great balance of tech and puzzles. Ale was an awesome game host who provided just the right hints so that we were able to still figure out the puzzle on our own. Great time was had and we will def be back to try another room.

Service: 10/10 Facilities: 10/10 Production Quality: 10/10 Game: 10/10 I brought the family here for fathers day and it was a perfect activity for all of us to do together. The kids and I have done escape rooms in the past and this by far was the highest quality one weve experienced. The design and implementation of the room was well thought out and there was a lot of production effort put into the story. Christina our game guide was very helpful and friendly and we had so much fun we almost went back for another round after lunch. Well definitely be coming back for another game.

Ariel was great! She showed us the room (Timeline) and explained everything pretty quickly and clearly. Ive done about 20 escape rooms now and Ive seen some that havent been put together properly or have parts that are missing or broken. This one was clean and put together well and the effects and puzzles were immersive and fun. Im definitely going to come back and check out the other rooms!

We had an amazing time at The Escape Game in San Diego! We were looking for something fun and spontaneous to do in the evening, and found the perfect place while in town! We choose The Depths as our escape room! Alejandra helped us throughout the night, and made our experience perfect! She took photos after we escaped, was very kind, and helpful! We had so much fun and loved our night here!

WE ESCAPED!!! Such a great experience at The Escape Game San Diego. We were helped by someone at the front desk (cant t remember his name) and Alejandra was our host at the back. They were both so friendly and made the experience even better! We did Prison Break which was their hardest challenge 9/10 difficulty and we managed to finish with 8 minutes to spare. It was such a great concept and the cell/room were perfectly planned out. The rooms were as realistic as possible with great equipment and brilliantly thought out. Definitely proud of our group for escaping Thank you Alejandra for taking all our pics. Highly recommend this place 100/10!!

My mother and I went in to do Timeliner for my birthday, and we had a fantastic time. Kaz was an absolute joy, so helpful and patient, especially for so early in the morning. We totally crushed our room (Timeliner), and we had so much fun. Kaz complimented me on how fast I was able to solve one of the puzzles, took our photo for us, and even gave me a free gift for my birthday. It was an absolute delight, and Im so glad we stumbled upon it. Thank you Kaz!

We escaped!! My husband and I tackled a room by ourselves and made it out. Couldn t have done it without Ale and Leslie. A few clues were needed and we enjoyed our time! Definitely will come back for more!

Our first time doing an escape room and it was a lot of fun. We did the Gold Rush with a stranger couple and we all quickly bonded and worked together and escaped. Will definitely be back. Maggie (I think that was her name) was a great guide!

That was a a bit difficult but CJ got us through it. The room was super cool with lots of buttons and cool doors. The Depths was fun and we will return. Lily was so kind to offer us a game at the end and helping us get our gift cards.

Went to a random escape room a while ago and didn t have the best time, however the prison break one I did here was actually fun and intricate. The staff were nice and Izela was very helpful.

Such a great room! This was our third escape room place and definitely my favorite one. We did the prison break room and it was SO FUN! The detail in the room are incredible. Jacob was a great help and very helpful and kind 100% will return!!!

Fun times! Allows for 2 people so me and my dad went. Great time overall, with the helper perfectly timing the hints so we had just enough time to win! Great service, minimal wait. Was able to schedule less than 30 minutes before starting and had a blast! Highly Recommend!

Maggie was awesome! Thanks for all the hints, we def needed them. The prison break is challenging, but it s really fun nonetheless. Getting unlimited hints was nice

Kira was so fun and made the experience so enjoyable! We played for the first time with a group we have never met and still made it out with 59 seconds to spare! Loved every bit of it!

Fantastic time! Inventive puzzles, and great electronic automation of some elements in the rooms. Highly recommend. We did the Prison Break puzzle

This was my first escape room experience and it was great! I came by with two colleagues and they were able to get us on the schedule within an hour (it was daytime on a Wednesday). The room was challenging but not so much that it ever got frustrating. Leslie at the front desk and our game tech Michael were friendly and super helpful.

Really a lot of fun. Very interesting and challenging room themes. Our guide CJ was cool and helpful (we needed a lot of help, lol). I really like that their experience is multiple rooms, makes it more interesting and enjoyable. Highly recommend it for a group of friends, family, whomever, you will have a great time.

Nolan and Leslie were the greatest. Made the Escape Room experience amazing. Definitely coming back in the future.

Took my fiancée here for an early Valentine s Day celebration, one of the best date night activities out in Downtown San Diego! We had an amazing experience trying out their new Timeliner room, I highly recommend it! Jacob, Aiden, and Tay were all amazing hosts and game guides. Definitely the best escape room in San Diego.

This was our 4th time doing an escape room as a family. This was definitely our favorite. We had our 12 year old and got grouped with another group of four. Was super fun and we escaped! Will definitely be back for more.
