Red Door Escape Room San Diego

We have been going to Red Door for the past couple of weeks as a family outing and have absolutely loved it! The staff is amazing! I can not remember all the names (sorry guys!), but every single one of them are entertaining and make the experience excellent, but I do remember Readi as she was our most recent game masters. (Hope i spelled that right!) We have one more episode to complete at this location and found out there are other Red Doors out there and will have to conquer those as well as a family! Thanks for making our family outings brain teasers!

The first time at the escape room and it was great!!!! My teams guide was MAX who was very thorough and added to our whole experience. Will definitely return to try out the other rooms. Thanks escape room and a BIG thanks to MAX!!!

So much fun! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I did Once upon a time with my 11 and 9 years kid. It was our first escape room experience, so I was worried that it might be too challenging to kids. But, no needed to worry. They loved the game, and at some point, even led the game.

Faith made the experience very enjoyable and fun for our family. Very helpful and guided us very clearly throughout our escape. We pulled through with only 2 min left. We definitely will be back. Its addicting.

BEWARE if you arrive for a later room - employee does not want to work late and will lie / wont let you in so he can get home early. Had a horrible experience last night. Me and my partner drove for 40 minutes to the location on Fashion Valley. We were celebrating a special day. We are talking about 3 rooms being booked within the moment I parked the car (was looking at their website trying to decide which one to do) and walking inside Red Door escape room. He said the two rooms we had left were booked just now, Once Upon a time and Fair Game. I proceeded to ask what about The gift? it says it is available online he replied just got booked as well and immediately was booked on the website. Mind you: we stayed outside and NO ONE was around, NO ONE arrived. We already thought it was weird that all 3 rooms were booked in a matter of 2 minutes. We walked back in and ask hey, if they dont show up, can we book the room? he said I need to wait 20 minutes for them, we replied OK, after 20 minutes if they are not here, can we take the room?, and he proceeded telling us he wouldnt recommend because we would only have 40 minutes instead of 1 hour. We said we didnt mind and would wait. Then, from I do not recommend he literally said he wouldnt let us in and started telling us how he had to make sure his team would get home early because they were working all day. Went as far as ranting about / complaining about lunch time and overworking when that literally isnt our problem. This is a job you are being paid to do. Im sure you were aware of the hours of operation when you first took the job. We were trying to go to the escape room at 10:30 in which the people who supposedly booked didnt show. We said we would wait for the 20 minutes and would be happy to start at 10:50 - mind you: while according to him other people booked the other rooms set at 10:40 and 10:50 and would finish at 11:40 and 11:50 while we were willing to start the room at 10:50 for 40 minutes and be done by 11:30. It really makes no sense how because of us his team would not be able to go home early if the other rooms that were supposed to finish even later were booked. It was clear to us that the employee was trying to leave early and bluntly lied to us. We were there within the hours of operation - which youre getting paid to do your job. The lack of honesty was appalling. NO one arrived for either of the 3 rooms he said were booked and I saw AVAILABLE online literally upon entering their place. I asked his name and he said Bob which I also think was another lie. Working at the fashion valley location Thursday 6/13/2024 heavier built man, with long dark hair, wearing glasses. Horrible service and a waste of time!

The fun and complexity of the Fair Game room was great. Went for a 12yr old Bday. 1 adult and three pre-teens. We all enjoyed ourselves. Very impressed with the option to book again with a 20% discount after you finish. It definitely brought us back for a second time.

Great experience! We did Once Upon a Time and honestly the answers were not what we were thinking. Very thought provoking. Melissa was great! The best.

Had a great time trying to escape with coworkers! Our guide Kameron was FANTASTIC! He did a wonderful job orienting us to the room and getting us prepped. We did Prison Break and it was definitely challenging! The attention to detail in the rooms is incredible and I will definitely be returning!

Lupe was our game master and she was amazing! She was so nice! We initially signed up for Fair Games but we literally walked back in from the parking lot to ask if we could do Once Upon a Time that same day because she made the experience so fun and enjoyable! Read full review of the different rooms, and provided recommendations. When we came back in and asked to do another one, he was so accommodating and really welcoming! We really really enjoyed our experience here and will continue to do escape rooms at this location. All of us said that these might have been the two most fun escape rooms we have ever done (and we have tried a lot).

This was a blast. Faith was a great host and provided fun yet themed clues when we asked. Would definitely recommend this activity for anyone whether they are new to escape rooms or experienced.

My boyfriend and I loved our experience here. Everyone was so kind and helpful! Rachel went above and beyond and Chance was such an amazing game master! Definitely recommend coming here.

Our Dnd group went here and it was the most awesome experience Our game master was Tatum and she was amazing. Highly recommend her and she should prob get a raise. We did Confinement and made it out with 10 sec to spare, highly recommend.

My siblings and I love to do escape rooms. We ve completed 10+ rooms now, and love the puzzles, the team work, the pressure. We went to Red Door on a Saturday, and I would say that you have to book early if you want a weekend. They have 5 full length or 1 hour long games and 1 mini game at 30 minutes. Read full review your game master can see and hear you. Max said that the audio can get wonky in places, but we never had an issue. You get three hints. We didn t end up using any, so I don t know what happens if you use all 3 of them. However, we prefer unlimited hints if we get really stuck. We re competitive, but really just want to have a good time and finish the game. You have to hit a red button when you escape to signal that you re finished. It s a cute way to end it. You get the entire room/game booked for your party which for me is absolutely key. I don t love how some escape rooms combine different parties if there s still capacity in the room. Prison Break was a great escape game. The puzzles were fun, challenging, but not impossible. It was accurately rated on its difficulty level. Everything worked the way it was designed to. All in all, we would definitely return to complete the other games and we even bought gift cards before we left to do so. Can t wait for the next one!

Amazing experience and perfect-designed escape rooms. We did the following: Confinement, Fair Game, and Prison Break. Our game masters for all of them were amazing. We are already planning to go again, to master the other 2-rooms. Every room at this location, is amazing and very detailed. This is one of the best escape rooms that I have been to in a while. Wanting to return already

Great room and such a fun and enthusiastic guide, Chance! Some feedback would be to provide slightly better instruction on rules that may vary slightly from the norm. IE: pulling harder than usual on items in certain rooms, climbing on something in certain rooms to get clues, etc. Rooms are set up really well and had super fun puzzles that made you think. Looking forward to coming back!

This experience was frighting which was amazing. Our lovely host faith was exceptional. She made us laugh and helped us through this adventure. Would highly recommend red door (escape room) in mission valley. My friends and I had an amazing time. Thank you

I brought my student organization here for some team bonding, and we all had a great time! We had 11 people go, and the booking process was super easy. The person that helped with my booking was Christian Sanders, and he responded so quickly and was very helpful and kind the entire process. Our game master was Faith, and she was AMAZING! She was super chill and helpful and made the whole experience very fun and enjoyable. 10/10 would recommend!!

Even though we didnt escape by 1 minute (so close!!), our group had a lot of fun! The guide was very helpful. The puzzles were challenging and rewarding. Coming back soon to do another one!

I ve been here 3 or 4 times and the rooms are great! The harder ones are challenging enough, and the props are pretty cool. The staff is very friendly and helpful! I ll be coming back soon to finish the rest of the rooms here.

Takoda our game master was super helpful for us as newbies to escape rooms! We did the prison break room and the codes were fun and challenging! We did need some clues but we had an amazing time!! Definitely will do another escape at Red Door!

That was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life (in a good way). The puzzles were really challenging, but it was awesome when we had that a-ha moment that led to a solution. I was really impressed with how creative the puzzles and clues were. There was a good variety of different types of challenges and skills required to solve the puzzles. Celia was a great game master and gave just enough guidance with her hints to help us solve the puzzles while still letting us figure them out on our own. I would totally come back and do Prison Break again ... there are so many puzzles we still needed to solve before time ran out.

Great experience, we have come as a couple and as a group, it never fails to be exciting. Rico our game host was very helpful and enthusiastic - even played a little prank on us!

Rooms are great, puzzles make sense and can be a mix of easy and challenging. My favorite place for escape rooms, the only drawback is if you run out of time you dont get to finish which makes sense for maintaining a schedule but is a bummer. The staff is amazing and will make you feel at home and ensure you have an excellent time. Aleks at the front desk is a gem and helped me book a second room immediately after finishing my first because there was an opening in the schedule and my adrenaline was still pumping!
