My son really wanted to do an escape room while we were visiting San Diego. While searching locations, we picked this one because it had a wizard-theme room. It was a tough solve (we needed all the clues!) but lots of fun. The owner was very kind and helpful. We hope to try the other room when we return to town.
Place was real cool. Went with my Wife and 3 boys (13, 9 & 7). We used the 3 hints after about 45 min or so, then completed it with about 90 seconds to spare. Owner, Constantine was awesome. We did the police escape room. Would go back again
We brought our friends from out of town and our family of 4 to participate in the police station escape room. It was well planned, thoughtful clues and bathroom was nice and clean. Highly recommended!
Great theme with a few really fun props. Room was pretty run down and a bit sparse in decor and furnishings compared to other escape rooms. The hostess was extremely friendly and very well spoken. Beware though, for those with allergies there was a dog on premises (in the small waiting room). We arrived a bit early and were told we could wait downstairs in the laundromat to avoid hearing spoilers from the group ahead. Quite a bit of the puzzles didnt seem to have logical explanations and after getting a clue there was no way we were going to have put 2 and 2 together without help. Sadly (even though we loved our hostess) we would not reccomend.
The wizard room started out TOUGH. We went with 2 adults and 2 10 year old boys and I was worried we wouldnt get a single clue. Fortunetly the staff was super freindly and helpful with clues. They clearly wanted us to have fun, wasnt too easy, but they helped just enough to make it fun for our group. We will definetly be going back.
Our group of 5 adults did the Wizard Room. It was challenging, but we made it out with about 2 minutes to spare. Constantine was an excellent host and the room itself was a lot of fun to escape. Thank you for a great experience!
Group of 2 BARELY completed the Police room using 1 clue. Several red herrings that looked like clues but werent
The owner was kind, escape room was fun and challenging. Overall great escape room for beginners and people who want to have fun.
Was lots of fun. Tricky problems to solve but solvable. Definitely a great escape room.
This was excellent! I took my daughters and their friend here. They are 10-12 years old. We did the wizard one. We have been to several escape rooms around San Diego and this one was one of our favorite. Don t let the location fool you! Yes it is in a small strip mall upstairs in an old building. To be honest compared to others it is not as nice from the exterior. But the guy and woman running it were awesome, very nice, very helpful with hints when we needed them. And we did a few times. It was quite challenging and lots of fun. Great design to what you need to solve and how to accomplish it. Definitely give this place a go. Well worth it!
We did the police escape room with 3 people and It was challenging enough without being too hard, we got it in the last 2 minutes and we only had to use two hints. Very enjoyable all throughout and we look forward to returning.
This escape room was so much fun!! My family and I did the Wizard room, which was Hardy Potter themed!! It was very difficult but amazing. The puzzles were tons of fun and very well thought-out. The owner, Constantine, was very kind and helpful. We got 3 hints total, which guided us a lot!! Overall, 10/10 escape room. We had a blast! And I cant wait to try out the Police Room version!
We had a blast in the police themed escape room! The puzzles were a solid difficulty that would stump us for a little bit but were so satisfying when we solved them! Our GM Constantine was super nice and fun!
Big thank you to Constantine at Global Escape SD. He was so kind to us four newbies and very helpful when we had to ask for a little help. We had a fun-filled hour and would highly recommend.
We had a great time in the Wizard theme room. The puzzles were quite challenging but ultimately doable. I went with a group of 7 and the room was a little small for the group size, but we made it work. Constantine was a great guide and helped us with a couple hits that didnt give away the solutions. I definitely recommend this place for an escape room adventure. We had a great time.
My daughter had her 12th birthday party here with a few friends. They had fun attempting the wizards room, shes a big Harry Potter fan.
We did the Wizard room and it was tricky but it was really fun & we were able to get out with 10 minutes to spare. We are visiting from out of state so if we ever come back to SD we will definitely come back to try the other room! Constantine was great and super friendly.
We made it out!! The Wizard Room has about a 35% passing rate & we GOT OUT! We are apart of that smal percentage! Constantine was amazing & I would suggest this place! Have fun but get ready to WORK and use that BRAIN!
My wife and I really enjoyed the Police escape room. A good level of difficulty for novices. We ve done escape rooms in the past, and it s been awhile, but it had just enough challenge to be fun but not impossible. Looking forward to trying the wizard theme room next!
We did the Wizard School Room with 2 adults and 4 eleven year old boys for a birthday party. It was excellent! The design of the room was well done and finding and figuring out the clues was challenging and fun. Constantine was extremely friendly and took the time to explain the differences between the rooms so the kids could make an informed decision. The clues were helpful without making it too easy. When we were finished all 4 boys wanted to go back to do the second room. Definitely recommend!
My son, his friend & I completed the Wizarding School room. It was tough, but we used our hints and it got us through in the nick of time. I do want to suggest one thing, however-since the place is not the easiest to find, especially if you show up early for a weekend day appointment, a simple sign in the (locked) door leading upstairs that says For Global Escape SD, please be advised that the operator will open the door around the appointment time, or something to that effect. We spent several nervous minutes trying to figure out exactly where it was/how to get in and calling the number before we got a call back to just wait until it was our time. I almost knocked off a star for that, but I didnt feel it to be fair.
Overall, the jail escape was good. The constable was nice and provided clear directions and the storyline is decent. The props were in good enough condition and worked. However, it is not much different than others and didnt have any originality. Group was a bunch of tweens that got stuck for 20 minutes on first lock, where clue was not obvious, and wasted 5 minutes after clue figured out due to lock that did not open easily. Never came close to finishing because another clue was difficult to decipher and not even explained well enough after we ran out of time. make sure you have multiple people try and retry the lock when you think you might have the code.
We had a lot of fun with Global Escape Room SD. We had two adults and 3 kids, 10 & 13yrs. Constantine recommended that we do the Police room for our group and was a clever guide when we needed hints. We had a fun hour solving the crime and we re lucky enough to escape with 2 minutes remaining! The kids had a blast and wanted to do it again! Thank you!
It was a very fun night with family. Unfortunately we did not make it out in time.
Had a fun experience doing the Wizard themed room! It was challenging enough to make us really think but we made it out in time. Doable with just 4 people if you don t have a large group.
I have been to four different escape room experiences and this is by FAR the WORST. We were so disappointed, it was an absolute waste of money. We did the Wizard Game escape room. This room was impossible, not because it was a difficult escape room, but because the clues didnt make sense. There was no story, you re just dropped in a room. Nothing about it was Harry Potter themed, not the clues, not the props, and there is nothing magical about it. You are given 3 hints to use during the escape room...
. We had to use all 3, none of them were helpful and one of them was extremely misleading and was not worded correctly by the guy running the maze. Because this hint was so misleading we would never have gotten the answer and we were forced to use our last hint because of this. As I mentioned, we have done other escape rooms. And although we did not successfully escape all of them, We were always at least happy with our experience and had fun trying to solve puzzles together. I can t emphasize how NOT FUN this escape room was. It felt boring and lazy, and I am confident that their Police Escape room is just as lazy and just as lackluster. I m sure there are many other escape rooms in San Diego that are more worthy of your time and money. Please do not be enticed by the Harry Potter theme. This is clearly a cheap marketing gimmick because as I mentioned almost nothing in the escape room is remotely related to harry Potter or magic. If you need a Harry Potter fix go to Universal studios, if you are looking for a fun movie themed escape room I suggest the SAW Eacape Room in Las Vegas if youre just looking for a fun escape room I suggest looking anywhere else but here.
So much fun! My husband and I completed the prison escape room. Clues and puzzles were challenging, but manageable too. We do a lot of escape rooms and this is definitely in our top choices! Constantine was very friendly and helpful, but not too helpful with the clues so that we could still figure them out on our own :) Highly recommend!
My husband & I took our two kids, 8 & 9 years old, & had a fantastic time finding clues and cracking codes as a family. We did the Police Room and can t wait to book the Wizard Room next for some quality family fun time. I would definitely recommend, fun for the whole family!
I really don t like leaving negative reviews, but unfortunately this experience has just left a bad taste in my mouth. I ve done a lot of Escape Rooms at similar prices and those had so much more effort out into the decor, puzzles, technology, etc. Although our game master was nice, it just wasn t enough to make up for the fact that we didn t really have fun at all.
This was so much fun, our first experience with an escape room! Constantine was so helpful, prior to locking us in he reviewed the policies, explained the backstory, and gave us some tips to remember. Once inside, his clues were good and we very nearly solved the puzzle. He reviewed what we had done well, and offered strategies for time management and gave us clues so we could learn from our experience and come back to try again another day. And we will return, it was a blast!
