Escape Game SD San Diego

We did this as a team building event for work. I do not recommend going as a big group and with alpha type people. It was fun at first but too many in our group were over bearing. As for the room it was cool, I expected more of a super hero theme. Instead we were introduced to a detective themed room which was unexpected.

First ever escape room and it was a solid 10/10!! Came in August for my birthday with a friend and the person working there did such a great job explaining the whole process and made us feel super comfy! We did the Japanese Thriller room and it was super immersive and creepy but SO much fun Definitely would recommend coming with a bigger group for more fun but it might make it more complicated lol

Our group has been to many escape rooms in the past and we can honestly say that we had a blast here! It was so much fun! We did the Japanese Thriller escape room, and it went above our expectations. I really liked how they have a points system to calculate where you stand in comparison to other groups. Our group scored about 2070? (I think*), and we found 3 out of 4 gems. There were 3 rooms filled with some tough puzzles that really get you thinking. I have to admit I was a bit spooked in this...

He did an amazing job at explaining everything, and he was very much in character. I wish we had the time to come back and do another room!

The experience is awesome as a first timer we made it out 20 seconds before the time runs out. We went to Japanese Thriller Room it was scary the game is challenging overall it was a great experience. Cory was the best hes really kind and awesome. Only 4 stars I wish theres something to give to the players (maybe a small token, pin, lanyards or something cute or nice) as a souvenir or remembrance who those made it out on time. Overall its a must try.

Brought my family here for their first escape room experience and they loved it! So much that they insisted we come back and try the Japanese thriller room in a few months. We played the wizards and spells room and actually escaped the room. It was a great experience and the staff assisting us through the game was friendly and energetic. Theres a parking lot across the street thats super cheap (around $5 for 3 hours). I would recommend using that rather than the one on the backside/ to the right...

They also have a 10% discount for all Escape room participants at the Moroccan restaurant next door, Kous Kous, which was absolutely delicious! Escape room is definitely a one of a kind experience to try with your family, friends or coworkers. If the idea of finding and unlocking clues to solve puzzles is thrilling to you, you will love this activity.

Found a great deal on Groupon so we decided to try this place out! Our guide, Cory or Kory was very helpful and friendly! We did the Japanese murder room and it was a bit scary but thrilling nonetheless! We completed this room with only two people so I d say anyone could escape!

Such a fun night! Katie & Caitlin were AMAZING!! Our group did the Japanese Thriller Room & we were creeped out as well as had a blast! I definitely recommend this place for date nights, family or friend get togethers, & team building :)

My wife and I did the magic themed room. This was our tenth or eleventh escape room, and it was easily one of the best rooms we have ever done. The puzzles were great, and there was enough for both of us to do quite a lot! The hostess really set the tone with a tone of laughter and fun throughout-- it really was a blast. One thing of note: these rooms are not necessarily private, you might be paired with other groups depending on your group size. That being said, we were not. I cannot stress enough though how much fun we had!

had a fun time! even though we ran out of time it was a fun experience with my family. Planning on going again sometime soon, After your first time they give you a lifetime 20% off if you want to try out the other rooms they have. The wizard room was cool and took us a a long time to solve just one puzzle so I might have to try a easier room next time

Excellent thrills at their Japanese room. Sparked enough fear to get your adrenaline going. Was surprised that this is basically at an apartment-turned-business, so although the place is a bit small, it still works and the puzzles were pretty engaging and fun!

My first escape room experience. Very fun and challenging enough to keep us all involved. Definitely will go back and try another room.

The Japanese Thriller room is really fun, I wouldnt recommend it for small children though because its a bit on the scary side. Overall, really fun experience.

Went here with our group the other day because we saw the deal for the Japanese thriller room on Groupon. Seriously had an amazing time here and got us all addicted on escape rooms! The staff here was so nice and fun to talk to, they really made the experience memorable and thrilling! I cant wait to come back to try their other 2 rooms!

Our family of 5 (6, 11, 11, 40 and 44) struggled with the wands. I d prefer a game with less electronic props as they were very fickle and we had to get assistance in our room several times. Our family loves doing escape games and this ranked very low on our list.

My wife and I took her sister out to try the Superhero escape room last night, and we had a blast. Fair warning, that room is billed as the hardest room they have, and it definitely was. We didnt make it out within the hour time limit, we were told we got about 80% of the way through, but we still had an absolute blast. The staff were all very friendly and hilarious. Were already talking about going back again and trying more rooms. 10/10

Had a great time in the Japanese Thriller escape room. Very challenging and the ghost added a fun element to the game. The host did a great job in setting the mood for the game in the warm up room and really put us on edge going in. We ll be back to take on another game soon!

the hosts are one of a kind! super friendly so animated and made every minute memorable our party planned only the japanese thriller it was majority of our first times and LOVED IT ! before we went home we ended up planning the super hero room. both so unique and we couldnt decide what room was the best ! 10/10

Had a work event the other night and did The Depths room. It was a lot of fun, took us a little under an hour to complete. Very kind staff. Would do again!

This place was amazing! My family and I (7 people total) did the superhero escape room and had a great time. The puzzles made you think but at the same time weren t impossible. There was something for everyone to do and kept us busy for the hour we were there. The staff was amazing, accommodating, enthusiastic and made the experience exciting and memorable. We will definitely visit again next time we are in San Diego!

My husband and I had a great time in the Wizards & Magic-themed room!!! What a wonderfully designed game!!! So many fun surprises and tasks that were challenging enough so you really feel justly rewarded when you figure them out. Paolo was a really great host and definitely boosted our energy levels (even though it was 9 PM on a Thursday and we were all beat from work). We played with three friends (all adults) and we all had a great time! I cant believe this room was designed in-house!!! Very well done. Cant wait to come back!

By far the most EPIC escape room! My friends and I went - most of us were first timers - and had an absolute blast. We liked the Superheroes one so much we ended up going back the same day for Wizards and Spells (also amazing) and then stuck around for Japanese Horror...we are absolutely hooked! On top of the great rooms, the game masters do above and beyond with their job and truly made the experience for us. 10/10 recommend Escape SD!

I brought my team here for our monthly team building, and Robert was a fantastic host! We did Japanese Thriller, and he did an incredible job of preparing us, supporting us, and keeping the energy up. Thank you for this experience! We look forward to returning.

It was my first time doing an escape room and it was very fun. Definitely a good way to hang out with friends without phones and to test out your critical thinking and teamwork skills.

Hello! I loved the Japanese thriller room(s) it was very edgy and dense! it was pretty horrifying and I was definitely expecting way less detail. I have to say though, if you are under the age of 12-13 I don t think this escape room is for you. It was pretty terrifying but extremely fun. It was super complicated so make sure to come with a friend or two. I had so much fun.

We went in a group of 6 and had a GREAT time. The Japanese escape room was a lot of fun and well thought out. It was our first escape room experience and we really enjoyed it. The game host Rena was funny and helpful. She thoroughly explained the concept beforehand and made it a fun experience. Definitely recommend!

So much fun! Paolo gave us an intro and instructions but it was full of fun punny jokes. A very charismatic guy! We did the wizards room and I loved that there were actual wands to use too. It was a smaller room that fit 5 people which was nice because we didn t have to be with another group. The puzzles made you think but weren t impossible and we escaped! I can t wait for the next one and would definitely recommend!

Went here last Sunday and had a blast. The staff was friendly and the puzzle room itself was a ton of fun. We did the wizard one and it was challenging but logical, and it was easy for everyone to feel like they had something to do vs. having someone just standing there. I also definitely want to go back and do the japanese horror room, I have heard great things! If youre in the market for a unique experience, give these guys a shot!

All I can say is wow! It was a great time and super fun! Highly recommend coming with a group of friends for a truly memorable experience. It was my first escape room and it wont be my last! The employees are super funny and very personable. Definitely looking forward to the new rooms that they are developing! Cant wait to come back! Would recommend for anyone who is trying for the first time or a well seasoned escapee! Five stars!!!!
