In a nondescript industrial office mini-mall area, the Bayou escape room met expectations. The theme is fun and consistent with good props. The host was friendly and helpful. I d say it was of medium difficulty with some variety in the puzzles though most of the puzzles were of the figure out the combination to the lock variety.

We barely escaped!! Enjoyed every 59 minutes and 18 seconds of it! First experience for 4 out of 6 of the group which included 2 kids. The kids enjoyed exploring and solving the clues! Great family time!

Our group is composed of relatively new to intermediate-ly experienced escape room players. Some of us are on our second room ever while three of us have played 50+ games in a few different states. Midnight on the Bayou is one of the most uniquely themed and story-strong rooms we ve done. The puzzles are linear yet challenging in the best way. Game master Roy made it a great experience and we can t wait to come back to try their other room. My first escape room and I was sooooo not disappointed!! It was good!! I definitely recommend.

We went here for my boyfriends birthday and it was so much fun! They gave him a birthday pin which was really cool. We had a group of 4 and escaped the midnight on the bayou room with about 7 minutes left. We are pretty experienced players so I think if it is your first time I would recommend a group of at least 6 or more. We have played about 20 escape rooms and this one is one of my favorites! The game was very non linear and there was plenty to do for everyone. I loved the focus on story and characters. The game designers were very clearly passionate about escape rooms and story telling. Our game master was super friendly and made the experience even better. Overall a great experience and i cant wait for their new room!

Great escape room, highly recommend Did the midnight on the bayou and what a unique and clever storyline. The incremental accomplishments kept us all engaged and excited throughout.

Excellent room--had a couple unique features. First, the room was one big area instead of a series of smaller rooms. This was pretty conducive to the story and helped our group divide and conquer the simultaneous puzzles that came up. Second, the host stayed in the room as part of the experience, and provided real time clues in an expert way. It didnt feel contrived or anything; it was a very cohesive experience. All in all, my group had a great time. 10/10 would recommend.

Review for Midnight on the Bayou: Went for my Dads Birthday in October, and I have to say, this is by far and away one of the COOLEST Escape Rooms in Orange County. It is a LARGE Single Room escape room with multiple different complex puzzles and riddles to solve, all centering around a disastrous high school reunion theme. One of my favorite escape rooms! If you get there early, there are some puzzles in the waiting room that you can fiddle with. I found the theme/story intriguing and the immersion was on point with a slightly creepy feel. It really felt like we were outside by a bayou. The puzzles were unique and fun (some Ive never seen in other rooms). Because of the amount of puzzles, I would recommend at least 4-5 people.

Completed the Curse of the Bayou with my family and friends. This was a perfect introduction for my siblings who hadnt done an escape room. Theyre now hooked like my friends and I. We cant wait to come back and complete the Midnight on Bayou room. Highly recommended!!

WOW! This was an amazing experience! Justin, one of the owners was simply amazing! We are stubborn and do not like unsolicited hints and Justin was very accommodating. We told him about our stubbornness so he made sure to double check whenever we asked for hints, which was VERY much appreciated. Because the room was non-linear, he also asked us which puzzles we would like help on, which again was very much appreciated. Justin was extremely kind and was an incredible game master. We completed it with 2 minutes to spare with 4 people! Thank you so much Justin and Red Lanturn Escapes for a wonderful and memorable experience!

Christian is amazing. He is a master at his craft. I was involved in a car accident and he s helped out so much with my neck and back pains. Already looking forward to future sessions. I would recommend him to anyone, especially my family and friends.

My wife, our siblings, and I did the Midnight on the Bayou escape room with our game master Roy. The experience was a lot of fun, and the presentation was phenomenal. Roy did a great job making us feel welcomed and complimented us on success while also recommending other places to do escape rooms, which is always a great way to help us feel engaged afterward finishing a room. The puzzles were solid and never too hard for our group size of six, which felt like the perfect amount for a room this size. We will definitely be back to try the other escape room here.

setting and ambiance was great! everything was tricky and not sequential. Puzzles were scattered and unrelated. Not enough time to solve all the puzzles and really bad clues. it would ve been more fun if everything wasn t so complex.

A super cool and immersive experience! Ive done countless escape rooms, and this one was super unique in how immersive it all was! From the game master being dressed up and speaking in a certain way during the introduction to the actual room, it was super fun! I loved having a sabotage element to it! All in all, would definitely recommend and cannot way to come back and do the biggest room around!

The Curse of the Bayou is a creative and refreshing twist on escape rooms! Its a head-to-head competition that brings out the best (or perhaps worst) of you as you race to solve the puzzles faster than your friends or sabotage them so that they cant solve them faster than you. Its really well organized, immersive and exciting, and also features the perfect combination of high tech/video/lighting effects and old-fashioned props/puzzles. The creative director, Roy, even dressed and played the part of our game-master in theme and so nicely. It was an all-around 5 star experience!

An absolutely wonderful escape room with an incredible and well written story thats easy to follow and works well with the puzzles inside. Everything feels like its there for a reason and all the puzzles are clever and fun to solve. My group did Midnight at the Bayou, and were definitely going to come back to try Curse at the Bayou sometime! I highly recommend this room if youre in the area, its well worth it!

Celebrated my daughters 15th Birthday at Red Lantern. Girls had a great time! I researched a lot of options and ultimately choose this one because it could accommodate our group of 10 people at once.

We did an escape room here for a birthday and would highly recommend! We did the Curse of the Bayou room and had a blast. The escape room was very well thought out . It was the perfect difficulty level and enjoyable from start to finish. The staff were extremely friendly and spent the time at the end of the session answering any questions. You could it a lot of thought went into the rooms and I liked how they were disability friendly and accessible to all. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to do an escape room!

i havent done an escape room in a long time and this was absolutely amazing! The puzzles were fantastic, creative, and well balanced, and the story/theming was really fun and immersive! A great must is that its ADA accessible with lots of space in the rooms as well as chairs and ramps. It was fantastic.

Absolutely the most positive experience Ive ever had with a game master. Our super friendly and trustworthy girl queen goddess, Sam, slayed her performances and the room was so well decorated to create an immersive atmosphere. The people making the rooms definitely have a lot of experience and creativity and I cant wait to see what other rooms theyve put those skills towards <3

Went through Midnight on the Bayou with a group and it was a really good experience. The room was very well decorated, had lots of space, and the puzzles were really well thought out and the whole room was designed great. The story was very engaging and made for a very fun and rewarding experience.

We came and played Midnight on the Bayou and it was REALLY FUN!!!!!!!!!!!! The puzzles were well thought out and I loved how incredibly spacious it was!! There were plenty of puzzles for myself and my group to each tackle so there wasnt a moment when one person was ever missing out in participating at all! The decor was really nice and everything in general was well thought out. Excellent job Red Lantern!! 10/10 would recommend to anyone!!!!!

I had the opportunity to play the Midnight in the Bayou escape room this past weekend, and Im still thinking about what fun it was. The setting is absolutely perfect and I loved the storyline. The puzzles were very challenging but solvable with team work, creative thinking, and coordination (our group finished with just minutes left). The staff made sure everyone had a great time and new friends were made along the way. Ill certainly be a repeat customer for years to come!

This place was awesome, great story, smart puzzles and a good atmosphere! I ve only been to one other escape room before but, Red Lantern was a much better experience. The place is huge, they were able to accommodate a large group of 12 and we were all able to move around and work on solving problems comfortably. Most of the people in my group had done a number of escape rooms before, we all had a great time and found the puzzles challenging and unique. We barely escaped in time but cant wait to get locked in again!

The Bayou was so cool! It had a variety of puzzles that were rewarding yet solvable, with good quality set design! Our Game Master, Roy, was very encouraging and helpful! Would definitely recommend for groups both hardcore and casual!
