Puzzle Effect Escape Rooms - Bakersfield

A fun experience for our family. We chose the Detective theme room, they are disabled friendly and easily accommodated one of our party with Parkinsons. The puzzles and story were introduced by video and we were set loose in the room. Read full review a well timed hint, sometimes obscure, sometimes as we became more desperate, a bit more obvious. Andrea did this with a light touch where the game progresses by your effort not hers. We all had fun and were able to take photos and video in the room as well as drinks, and our family all agreed that we would very much like to return and try another room soon. TLDR: 5/5 would go again

We had such a great time! Our group did the book room, and it was tons of fun. Our host was really lovely. He was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Puzzle Effects Escape Rooms to anyone!

This is the best escape room in Bakersfield! I brought my 13 year old niece for her birthday and we had a blast in the Grim Stacks room! Andrea was amazing. She was so helpful and kind. Highly recommend!

Andrea was wonderful in helping us throughout the escape. The escape room was tough but a good tough. Great experience. The staff was helpful, nice, and inviting. Would do it again.

Amazing experience! Faith was very helpful, always smiled, made us feel very welcome and comfortable (being our first time there). Very knowledgeable and Answered all our questions! We believe the wand belongs to faith in one of the rooms because shes truly a wizard!

We did the room for my birthday and had so much fun! Would definitely recommend. We did get stuck at one point and they gave us a hint to help out, which we really appreciated! Super nice staff and really fun experience!

My family and I had the greatest time at Puzzle Effect this afternoon. It was our first time ever at an escape room. We chose the amnesia room it was difficult but very fun. Faith was a great game master! Well definitely be going back to escape another room soon!

Our family (2 parents, 2 teenagers, and a 10 yr. old) absolutely loved the Grim Stacks escape room! It was challenging for all five of us, and we barely escaped with 23 seconds remaining! The room was tricky at first, but clues were given at times when we were stumped and not progressing. I appreciated that the clues were just enough of a hint to help US take the next step forward, not a dead giveaway. I highly, highly recommend it if you re a Harry Potter fan or bibliophile. Sending a giant THANK YOU to Mikey for helping us build such a fun family memory!

We had a fantastic time! The facility was clean, and every member of the staff was attentive and fun, and accommodating. It was our first escape room experience, and we escaped The Crimson Storm room with 1 minute, 16 seconds to spare. A shout-out goes to Alexis, our game master, who managed the game well!

What a fun and well -run experience! Puzzle Effect has 4 escape rooms currently, my friends and I did Grim Stacks. The concept and theming was excellent and we truly felt immersed in that world for those 60 minutes. Our games master Faith was also great, providing just enough hints when needed. We managed to escape with <30 seconds! Really fun and can t wait to try the other 3 rooms.

This was our first time doing an escape room. I didn t know what to expect, but the team explained how it works, and took the time to show us information on other rooms if we liked the one we chose for the future. The escape room we chose, The Crimson Storm , was lots of fun and our Game Master, Alexis, gave perfect hints to guide us along the way whenever we hit a roadblock without revealing the answer! Thank you Alexis for being aware and helping us to escape with the subtle hints!

We had a great time escaping from the Knight and Rook detective office with less than 5 minutes left! Mikey was an excellent Game Master and we will definitely go back to escape the other rooms.

We were not sure what to expect when we arrived but we were not disappointed. From the time we arrived to the time we walked out, the staff were friendly, helpful and answered all our crazy questions. The game instructions that were given were clear and spot on to participate in the escape room. The room we chose was Crimson Tide. Our Game Master Alexis, provided just enough direction when we were clearly stuck, without given the answer. We were able to finish the room with 1 minute and 16 seconds...

Great location, really fun but where are the new rooms? 2 of their rooms have been the same since they opened and the other 2 are several years old. As escape room enthusiasts my family and I are dying for a new room in town. We have travelled to Puzzle Effect in SLO and Fresno and are going to other businesses now. Puzzle Effect always put on amazing rooms. Its been several years guys, time to change things up and give fans some new content.

Can I just share how much fun we had at Puzzle Effect Escape Room?! What a great time. We did the Rook and Knight room and it was perfect for a first timer. Will definitely come back again. ALEXIS was a great help in explaining the process and being an encouragement when we got finished. What a great experience!

This place is great. The wife and I took our moms there for Mothers Day, and did the Grim Stacks. It was challenging, but Andrea did a great job as the Game Master.

Puzzle Effect (Bakersfield) on Father s Day did not disappoint. Everyone contributed and our guide, Alexis, was amazing. Great family activity.

We had a corporate event planned and the CEO wanted to do an escape room with the sales team. I accidentally booked the wrong day, and was in a panic! But Alexis graciously worked with me to ensure our group was still able to do an escape room on the day of despite the mix up. Thank you so much for working with me and for being able to accommodate our big group!

A friend gifted an escape room experience for us to do together. It was a blast! With a few helpful hints as we got stuck, we completed it with just 29 seconds to spare. Alexis was welcoming, answered all our novice questions, and offered to take additional pictures for us. Would love to go back again!

We loved it! It was so much fun! Great Puzzles! We did amnesia, it was tough, but very doable. I totally could have been entertained for 2.5 solid hours in that room and we probably would have finished, but so cool!

We just beat Knight & Rook. It was so fun, and we especially enjoyed our puzzle master Faith! Helped a ton with the clues and was hilarious with the reply backs to our thanks. Will definitely go again, thanks puzzle effect and Faith!
