We had a great time. Puzzles were cool. Staff was friendly. Escaped with 5 minutes left... Phew
Very nice escape room. Staff provides too much help though. Items in the room are very fun and decorations are wonderful. Staff could do a much better job of introducing the setting and even telling about how an escape room generally works. I am excited for the next room.
Took a group of 6th graders for a birthday party. The staff was super helpful the puzzle was fun. The in room character was patient and fantastic with the kids. The event space was perfect for a small. I would definitely recommend it.
We made it out of the Gold Mine!! It was a very fun way to celebrate a family birthday! Easy reservation process and great clues provided as we needed them to escape. Bravo, Avalache Escape Rooms! Cant wait to come back and try another experience!
Our party of 6 had a great time! The staff did an excellent job of explaining the rules and seeing expectations. The puzzle was well put together and a blast to solve! We will definitely be back to try other rooms!
We did the mine escape room with 5 people, each having done between 10-20 escape rooms previously. The ambience and room details were excellent. Really felt like you were trapped in a mine, complete with sound effects and dim lighting. The background story was great. This was the first room weve done which had an actual employee in the room with you acting out part of the story and serving to guide your experience. Some of us like that a lot, others found it a little distracting and cramped...
to have an extra person in the room, but we all agreed that our guide did an excellent job and provided just the right amount of helpful nudges without giving anything away. Most of the puzzles were fun and challenging. We had a hard time understanding how one or two of the puzzles fit the theme of the room, but they were fun nonetheless. A couple of puzzles were tough to even figure out how to get started, and it seems that the majority of people would need the guides assistance with those particular ones, so if you are the kind that dont like to get hints with rooms, this will definitely be a challenging room. The technology incorporated into the puzzles was really good... there was only one keyed padlock which was great to see because too many escape rooms use a bunch of combination locks and are not very innovative at all, so the lack of padlocks was refreshing. The staff was all excellent and friendly. The lobby was well appointed and they even provide free bottled water for participants... a nice touch. Highly recommended!
We had a lot of fun doing the German bunker room. It definitely has some interesting puzzles and we benefited from a few clues, but I would say the clues are logical. We finished with a minute to spare. A lot of fun for a good price.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and fun to interact with. This was a fun interactive place for us adults and i would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Our group tried The Blitzkrieg which was World War II themed and attempt to diffuse the bomb. The room was themed and has a nice touch with many obstacles. We will definitely be back to try the other rooms. The place was easy and convenient to find along with it being a clean environment. Keep it up, well be back soon!
I absolutely love escape rooms, but I personally wasnt a fan of the room we did. The concept was good, but they had a member of the staff in there with you. I dont think thats necessary if the room is planned out well. As a whole, there wasnt a clear correlation between clues and what to do with them, and because of this, a person to guide you was needed. It felt like we were children that they thought needed supervision, instead of a fun game for 5 adults. I do plan on giving the other rooms they have a chance as well, so I might update this rating then.
Ive done all three rooms that they have here. By far my favorite is Blitzkrieg. I love the props and the story in that room by far. Ive only finished one room in time, The Mine, with exactly one second to spare. It was fun, but the story didnt really make any sense. The Cure was fine, if a little frustrating. The staff are friendly and encouraging. The waiting room is excellently decorated and professional. My only complaint is the price is a little high for the level of immersion offered in 2/3 rooms.
This was pretty fun, Ive done two of the rooms so far and they have a nice blend of puzzles for different types if thinking. I would definitely recommend getting a full group, an hour goes by quick and you will probably need everyone on board figuring out the puzzles.
Seriously the most fun Ive ever had at a work function. The games were amazingly structured for a perfect team building exercise. The staff and facilities far exceeded our expectations. A non-stop thrilling adventure that will definitely have you coming back for more. We have found our spot for any and all company moral events. Thank you!
Awesome staff and pleasantly challenging! I went in thinking it was either going to be too easy or ridiculously hard and unsolvable. But to my surprise, it was just right. A little too pricey for me ($125.00 for four people, and thats with three discounts)... but a still great as a once-in-a-blue-moon spot for a night out (:
So much fun! But be ready for a challenge! We did the Cure. max. is 6 people, we did it with 5. We failed, but were within about 5 minutes of completing the challenge. :] It is definitely recommended that you bring 6, focused people. We had a lot of fun and are looking forward to trying the next room.
These folks put together an awesome place! Comfortable waiting room for while you wait, with plenty of small puzzles to keep you busy . Theyve got two escape rooms right now, with a third shortly on the way. We played The Cure, and even though we lost the room, the puzzle was challenging enough to keep us going, and entertaining enough that the whole group is ready to go back and try round 2 on Blitzkreig!
I have done both Blitzkrieg and The Cure, and am excited to go back again for the new room, Its Mine. The two rooms I have completed do a marvelous job of creating immersive atmospheres that pull you into the games and make you feel as if you are really in a WWII bunker or secret laboratory (depending on the game). For Blitzkrieg in particular, the puzzles are clever, complex, and vary in type, which is great for challenging the skill-sets of all participants with different strengths. Be aware that...
there is low light, however, so Blitzkrieg may not be ideal if you have difficulty seeing in such conditions. In contrast, The Cure has plenty of bright light. I believe the maximum allowed number of people for both of these rooms is appropriate; there is plenty for everyone to do without worrying about anyone becoming bored or hovering around waiting for another puzzle to solve. This means you can repeat the room if you went in a large group and have plenty of new puzzles to solve that you didnt work on the first time around! Blitzkrieg is still one of my favorite escape rooms, even after all the others rooms Ive completed, so I highly recommend Avalanche Escape Rooms.
Let s start with the good: The staff was kind and the room was very immersive with unique puzzles. Everything in Its Mine is Alaska or mining themed from the set design to the props. And each puzzle had a unique mechanic and hints to solve it, which are a big bonus. However, we personally were left with a frustrating experience. One, the room is very dark with the intention to use lanterns to see the very fine details to solve the puzzles. We just didn t appreciate the darkness. Second, the game...
master is an actor in the room, and though he was nice, it made it difficult to relax and get any momentum to working on these puzzles. There were way too many nudges on solving, letting us know how much time passed, etc. That factor stole the aha moments we love from escape rooms. I think for some, the actor is fine and perhaps nice to have the guidance, however, I prefer to be left alone and ask for help when I want it. Instead, I felt undermined in my thinking and questioned myself for more than I would typically.
Staff was super chill and really kind The puzzles were fun and creative and really gave a good atmosphere while escaping. I cant wait to try it again .
I don t know quite what I expected, but I was definitely surprised by how fun the room was. It was challenging, exciting, and the time flew by. The staff was super friendly, and the guide in the room with us was present enough to see when we needed help, but not giving clues that weren t needed. Overall a great time, and definitely worth the price.
Super cool escape room. Our first time doing one so we didn t have much to compare it too, but my 11 year old son really loved the engineering that went into the puzzles. If anything, the quality of the puzzles threw me off because they were made way better than I would have expected. Needless to say, it was a lot of fun and we will definitely be back the next time we re in Anchorage! Staff was cool too.
Staff was excellent and beautifully in character, and the game itself was very immersive. We played The Mines and had lots of fun. Its good for younger ages as well (not too scary, but dimly lit). They did a great job with their rooms.
We visited Avalanche for a team building activity and it was excellent! We utilized their conference room and brought in lunch. It is a great facility, perfect for corporate events and Its Mine was really fun for our staff. Definitely will be returnng!
We had 8 people trying to figure out the Blitzkrieg room. It was difficult, but the employee in the room with us gave vague hints, only when we were floundering, allowing us to focus in the right direction. So much fun! All of the employees were very nice. Definitely going back to do a different room.
This was a great escape room! We did Blitzkreig with a mixed age, family group. It was well sequenced, engaging with fun, technological twists. This was the first escape room I ve done with a staff member in the room which was surprising at first, but turned out helpful and entertaining. Our sergeant did a good job balancing hints and staying out of the way. The teens really enjoyed his character.
Ive played 2 of their current 3 games and they were both really cool and flawless! The puzzles were fun yet challenging and the characters in the room were helpful enough to keep us on track but not give things away! The lobby and rest of the building has a really cool vibe and its definitely a great place for birthdays or similar events. Best escape room Ive been to, 69/10 would recommend!
This was my first escape room. We did It s Mine and everything exceeded my expectations. We were a group of three paired with a group of four strangers. This was not at all awkward as we worked well together and everyone had a great time. No need to have a big group to take up the whole room. We had a great time and I m sure we ll be going back to try another room. The staff were all very friendly. It was a great evening.
I used this as a team building experience for my staff. It was FANTASTIC! We had a blast. Everyone had to work together in fun and challenging environment. As the CEO, it was great to see how everyone processes information and problem solves. It will be beneficial in our work place. My staff LOVED it. We will be back to do all of the other rooms. The staff at Avalanche were professional and accommodating. Thank you!
What an awesome experience! We had our kiddos 11th and 12th birthdays here. Staff and owner was extremely helpful and super friendly. The Party room is large and held all 19 of us without any issues. The Escape Room game was pretty fun, both kids and adults enjoyed the experience. We will for sure be back, sans kiddos Perfect for date nights with other couples!
We did a group of 8 and did Blitzkrieg! It was a BLAST! I have been to escape rooms in the lower 48, but this was way better! In depth story, well designed room that isnt full of red herrings (like most of them) but it just takes logic! Truly a pleasure to go! We will be returning soon to do the Cure!
Hosted a corporate event for ~30 people and was completely satisfied with every step of the process. They were flexible with their ordering/booking process, no pressure with add on services, the event room was nicely set up, and of course the games were top notch. All that attended had a great time; highly recommended.
